People always say the apocalypse brings out the worst in humanity.

I disagree.

It brings out the truth.

That's why I love this game.

The world ends, governments collapse, cities rot away, and suddenly everyone stops pretending they're civilized. Funny how quickly morals disappear when there isn't anyone left to applaud them.

The infected are fantastic.

Clickers. Runners. Bloaters.

Loud.

Violent.

Predictable.

It's the humans that keep my attention.

Every survivor has a reason why they're still alive.

Every one of them thinks they're the hero of their own little story.

Most of them are wrong.

Then there's Joel.

Now that's someone I understand.

He doesn't waste time asking the universe for permission. If something stands between him and the person he cares about, it stops standing. Simple. Efficient. The world keeps trying to convince him to compromise.

He never really does.

I respect that.

The combat feels exactly how it should.

Messy.

Desperate.

Personal.

There's no glory in it. Every fight ends with someone on the ground and someone else trying very hard not to think about it.

I never had that second problem.

The world itself is gorgeous.

Nature swallowing skyscrapers.

Empty streets where millions of people used to matter.

Homes frozen in time like humanity simply... disappeared.

It's peaceful.

Almost beautiful.

Like the planet finally got some quiet.

And Ellie...

She keeps looking for hope.

Joel keeps looking for reasons to keep moving.

Watching those two slowly become everything the other one needs is far more interesting than saving the world.

Because saving the world is such a small idea.

Saving your world?

Now that's worth doing.

The ending is magnificent.

Everyone argues about whether Joel was right.

I find that hilarious.

People love pretending they'd make the noble choice... right up until it's someone they love lying on that operating table.

Then suddenly morality becomes negotiable.

Funny how that works.

Cold.

Brutal.

Beautifully honest.

A masterpiece that reminds you civilization is just a costume. Strip it away, and all that's left is one simple question:

Who matters enough for you to ignore everyone else?

Great game! One of my personal favorites when it comes to story-driven games. The exploration is 100% worth it—there can be collectibles hidden around corners you didn't even know existed. The story really hits you emotionally and won't be forgettable.

The DLC is really fun and adds even more to the story.

Graphics-wise, this game is a 10/10. On my system, I can run it at my native resolution with max settings.

I did not like this remake's gameplay. It's way too sluggish and clunky compared to the remastered, and kills the flow of the combat as Joel is very unresponsive.
That being said, this is still an amazing game through and through, now with jaw-dropping graphics. The story is fantastic, gameplay is still quite fun despite the clunkiness, and the characters are nuanced, well-written, and well-acted. It's just great.

Haven’t finished it yet but so far it’s genuinely one of the best story games I’ve played. The writing acting atmosphere and relationship between the characters are all incredibly well done imo. The combat is tense and can sometimes piss me off, the exploration lowkey feels rewarding and I somehow spend ten ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ minutes searching an entire building just to find half a pair of scissors but at the end of the day its worth it I guess. in the beginning it had a few performance issues, but nothing that has stopped me from enjoying it (and it ended up just fixing itself??) Highly recommended so far

In my opinion, The Last of Us is one of the greatest video games ever made. Especially when it comes to storytelling. It delivers an incredibly emotional journey that pulls you in from beginning to end and keeps you invested in every moment.

What makes this game so special is the relationship between Joel and Ellie. Their story is beautifully written. They start off as complete strangers who barely trust each other, but as the journey unfolds, you can slowly see their bond grow stronger. That development feels natural, making every conversation and every difficult moment hit even harder. Over time, Joel begins to see Ellie as far more than just the girl he's been tasked to protect. After losing Sarah twenty years earlier, Ellie gives him a reason to care again and, ultimately, a new purpose in life.

The gameplay is so much fun! The remake is absolutely gorgeous. The visuals are stunning, the environments are incredibly detailed, and the atmosphere is second to none. Whether you're exploring abandoned cities, sneaking past infected, fighting the worst thing in the postapocalyptic world -> PEOPLE, the game constantly keeps you immersed in its world.

My only real criticism is the PC version. Unfortunately, it's really badly optimized... Even with powerful hardware, you'll occasionally encounter frame rate drops and brief stutters that can briefly interrupt the experience. Thankfully, these issues never overshadowed what is otherwise an exceptional remake.

I completed the game 100% on Grounded difficulty, and it was an unforgettable experience. It was challenging, emotional, and rewarding from start to finish. It's definitely a game I'll return to someday, if only for the nostalgia of experiencing Joel and Ellie's journey again.

honestly when i bought this game i was expecting to just get through the story and action and be done with the game but what i didn't expect was to get truly absorbed into the world of The Last of Us. The music and the atmosphere are quite literally top tier, i have never seen a game more enchanting in the way this game is. As performative and cringy i feel writing this review i just couldn't not say how much this game affected me when i was playing it. My only regret in buying this game is not finding a bundle on steam that included the second game so I could play it as soon as I finished The Last of Us Part I.
