A cry for help.
Hello,

You may not know me. But if you want to know me, know this:

My steam account is my authenticity.

This game, was in a way, a second life for me. Even as an amateur player, it was about trying, learning, and adapting.

Today, it's a lesson in mental restraint. To "put up with" people that cheat. For some they encounter ragers. They are the obvious ones. Me though? I have yet to encounter a single "blatant" style cheater. All of the cheaters I face, pretend they don't cheat.

And they're everywhere.

Valve, you guys monetized our game to an unprecedented* level of success. Good work. I even bought in as a proud knife owner. I believed in the product.

Today, I don't believe in you anymore.

Peace.

I think anyone who plays competitively abandoned it a long time ago. You often end up facing the same people because there are so few players; otherwise, most of them are just bots farming for crates. I deleted it today, too, I don't want to waste precious time in my life. You did the right thing, It's impossible to accept such a ridiculous situation from a major company.
i dunno, you're complaining here for years and trying to derail your own thread if people tries to disagree with you.

I also never believe the community, so you're not the only one. I never trust content creators duo their blatant lies and brainwash their viewers with false information.

Still remember 2 years ago when "people were exploiting armory servers", i warned content creators about what they are doing is against steam tos, and all I got are threats and harassment but they got a year trade ban luckily instead for a manual game ban because of me.

I sort of agree with this thread but according to your post history I have a small suspicious.

The issue has been present for years.

I think perception of the game changed more than cheating.

People are now wise to how bad it really is.

Your narrative doesn't fit, as people have been complaining since the start of this game. Thst does not mean that they're right with their complaints, but they are complaining.

Yes people started complaining more and more in around 2006. Before that cheating did exist but not that big. That beeing said the cheating issue wasn't that much of a deal. It became an issue when CSGO went f2p for a short time, there was a spike in cheating. Then it calmed down a bit but never went back to what he had before. So since 2019~ the cheating issue has become more present. It was still halfway bareable. We still had overwatch. But then, few years later, overwatch was disabled and it got worse again. With CS2 and especially in the past few months it has spiked on a level we never had before.

Redacted is still wrong about the perception. It did not change. We just have more cheater now than ever.

One interesting part are youtuber: They were always the posivite site of counter strike. It was a silent rule that no one is allowed to speak about cheater because that would bring bad vibes so the only "cheating" content youtuber had was overwatch. But for quite some time now more and more - no - ALL - youtuber are mainly talking about cheating. Again this isn't a perception thing. It is a thing of tolerance. Everyone has tolerances, so until a point everyone can accept cheater. If you have a cheater in every 20. game it's ok, 10? Even that is bareable yet already ridiclious. But we are at a point where everyone just gets cheater in at least every second match. And it's not a trust factor issue. Claiming that is just ragebaiting/gaslighting.

I'm being called a cheater every second game and I tell them every time I don't have any cheats and they don't believe me. Maybe all the "pretender's" you call out are not even cheating?
It's really funny if I actually try to take your viewpoint serious. You realize how ridiculous it would be if everyone was closet cheating, including pros, youtubers, casual players, etc. Not only would it be an open secret basically, but it would mean everyone was lying to each other and believing that they were successful in lying to everyone. It would also mean everyone is using potentially malicious software just to play a game(a pointless game at that if everyone really was cheating). The entire pro scene would be a farce, youtube vids on how to improve would be pointless as well, casuals who load up a game to unwind after work are apparently using cheating software??? The amount of logical leaps it takes to come to the conclusions you have is ridiculous. Come on man, you're like 40 years old you should be smarter than that.
I can never tell if you are for or against cheating. You complaint about it but also encourage it. It just seems odd.
come to one of the faity glaives.... come forests friends.

Exactly. The problem is the cheating ring is so pervasive it actually distorts how the matchmaking system views trust. Since the majority of new accounts are cheaters, it’s going to pool legitimate newbie into the same pool as the cheaters/spinbotting/farming ring. And to allude even further to what you said it takes an absolutely massive coordinated effort to distort how the system sees Trust Factor scores.
