Just letting you guys know, I won a 1v1 today.
The strategies i used was i had all my archers lined up at the deployment area, a few spaces back i had my spearmen ( Yari Samurai, Naginata Samurai) Lined up, with two of them covering left and right flank. Then i had 4 loan swordsman units behind as my main body. with my General in single line formation at the back of my army. I hid 3 cavalry units in the bushes, then waited for the enemy to get fustrated with my archers and launch an attack. As his main infantry was away from his archers and general. I rushed his general and archers with my cavalry, The cavalry quickly finished off those units and joined my main body which were winning slightly. This eventually led to his army demoralising and giving me a quick decisive win. I did this same tactic in consecutive matches with the same result.

ok graham. My list of comments on what you could have done in that battle:

- brought your archers slightly more foward to shoot at the yari cav i sent to pursue your archer cav

-kept one of the yari sami. on the flank facing the katana cav. i had

- consider using the archer cav. to target someone other than my general who could both shoot back more accurately and at a longer range. Possibly consider targeting the yari cav earlier.
