/// We need more Mac OS (silicon) games ///
Hi everyone,

I’m posting this because it is high time we bust the myth that still persists in the industry: "Macs aren't for gaming." In 2026, with Apple Silicon architecture, that statement isn't just wrong—it’s completely obsolete.

Take the Mac Mini M4 Pro (priced around €1,200) as a reference. For that price, you get a machine that, in terms of performance-per-watt, simply has no equal in the traditional PC world. We are talking about a tiny, near-silent chassis that consumes a fraction of the power of a high-end PC tower, all while delivering staggering computing power.

Why developers need to step up:

Real-world graphics capabilities: With the M4 chips, we aren't just talking about light gaming anymore. The hardware now supports hardware-accelerated Ray Tracing. Running demanding titles like Cyberpunk 2077 in 2K with satisfying detail levels is a technical reality.

Energy efficiency: While a standard gaming PC spikes your electricity bill and heats up your entire room, the Mac remains cool and efficient. It’s an unmatched level of gaming comfort.

A massive installed base: There are millions of Apple Silicon users worldwide. It’s a massive, untapped market just waiting to buy games if they were natively ported.

We aren't asking for the impossible—we just want native porting to become the standard rather than the exception. The power is there, the architecture is there, and Metal is a solid API. All that’s missing is the developers' willingness to compile their titles for this platform.

How many of you would switch to Mac full-time if the Steam library were as robust as it is on Windows? It’s time to show developers that there is a genuine demand for native AAA titles on macOS.

What do you all think?
