Fields of Mistria is hitting 1.0 some time today. None of the romances are gender-locked, or so I've heard. I bought the game, but was waiting for 1.0 to play. If you want to wait to learn more I'll play it some and report back my findings.

I've read online that in BR Quartet, some of the older games have had their yuri oriented dialogue options affection scored reduced, so by choosing it, the other girls like you less compared to the other choice(s). I havent seen specific examples so idk what exactly they were refering to.
Jul 31 @ 9:23pm
SUN is not a spin-off. It is literally considered the conclusion of the saga by the devs and what it all led towards. That's the awful thing about it. Second Light takes place after it (sort of, it's a time paradox) and references it several times.
Jul 31 @ 7:44pm
SUN wasn't even a real BR game. It was a spin-off gacha that failed miserably.
Jul 30 @ 6:15am
Mel Kishida is well known for being delusional and completely misreading his audeince, yes. I will mae a summary of what I know about Quartet in the discussion forum instead of this comment section.
Jul 30 @ 6:10am
I never planned on buying the bundle since I already own Second Light. However I NEVER heard anything about Blue Reflection outside of Yuri circles, which implies the makers/publishers/whoever don't understand who buys their games or for what reasons.
Jul 30 @ 1:29am
Minor caveat on Bookbinding - according to reviews the game is currently short and ends SUPER abruptly to the point where many people thought it was a bug. This doesn't affect whether it's yuri or not but it's worth noting for people who might be curious about checking it out.
Jul 30 @ 1:23am
There were weird rumors (probably overblown) that the bundle version was also altering the existing games to make them LESS yuri. So I'll figure out whether it gets an informative listing after someone confirms that the original content is still there!
Jul 29 @ 7:49pm
Thanks for clearing that up, DMA.
Being objective, the bundle should still probably get an "Informative" entry since the company are being scummy and delisting the standalone game with actual yuri so I suspect it will disappear from the curator list. Even though just looking at this bundle gives me the ick
Jul 29 @ 7:37pm
Also I dont recommend buying Second Light at full price, especially if you wanna get all the DLCs. The fact that they dont have a sale before taking them off the platform just speaks volumes of what they think of players. Good thing I bought it on a Playstation Store sale years ago.
Jul 29 @ 7:31pm
The 4th one is an entirely new game adaptation of the anime, not the anime itself. Basically Mel Kishida is holding this new game entry hostage behind the male self-insert protag. That being said, the anime was never all that explicitely yuri (especially for the protagonist sisters) and the game is not gonna add anything to it. It all culminates in het harem trash with the SUN part regardless.
This is an irrelevant bundle not worth recommending. It would be absurd to recommend a collection for a single game in it. Then again, this curator has recommended games before when there wss a single yuri chapter out of like 15...

I would boycott Mel Kishida's het harem fantasies.
Jul 29 @ 12:32pm
if you want to buy second light (the yuri one) by itself, you pretty much have to do so now as it's leaving steam tomorrow

https://store.steampowered.com/app/3825390/BLUE_REFLECTION_Quartet/

This comes out later today so I should begrudgingly mention it. Its a compilation of the Blue Reflection series. The first game is just bait and felt kind of exploitative. The second game has actual yuri between two NPCs. The PC can engage in "dates" with other girls which are glorified friendship scenes and dont culiminate in any actual romance. The third game, SUN, infamously had a male protag exclusive in an attempt to attract a different audience. The 4th item is not a game but anime.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/3083020/My_Beeloved_A_Bee_Dating_Sim/

this seems like it's probably.... technically? ... but I tend to be wary of So Funny Parody Games so I'm waiting on more reviews.
Jul 29 @ 3:42am
I dislike the use of AI art and will mention it in the review roundups, however, the 'Recommended' flag is strictly about how yuri-oriented a game is.

It may be confusing because we were delaying listings for games for a specific developer that was using AI a lot? That was because that developer at least once LIED in the game listings about what content the game had, which annoyed me enough that I wasn't willing to list their games anymore without player reports to verify the content.
Jul 29 @ 2:06am
Nobody ever said this curator is anti-AI.
Jul 29 @ 1:51am
I'd say most people here (and everywhere) are probably anti-AI but from what I've seen that's not the point of this group. "Recommendations" aren't suggestions to play or support the game, instead they are just an indication that any particular game has yuri. Regardless of how detestable a game may be, if it has yuri it belongs on the list.
I thought this curator group is anti AI. Yet these games are on the recommended list:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/4056490/Convent_Chronicles_Revelation/?curator_clanid=6864182

https://store.steampowered.com/app/4901480/AfterRain_Bookmark/?curator_clanid=6864182

Is the curator no longer opposed to gen AI art?
Jul 28 @ 8:17pm
Yeah, Dissolution is 100% yuri.
Jul 28 @ 7:16pm
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2939790/Lunarium/

Too bad, apparently nothing beyond subtext according to a review I saw online: "There is a notable level of intimacy present, but any hints of romance never move past being implied"
Jul 28 @ 2:44pm
isn't it nice that there's another games platform that not only has better tags, devs are generally more accurate with them
Jul 28 @ 11:53am
The dev tagged it yuri on itch.io so that's probably enough unless evidence to the contrary pops up
Jul 28 @ 11:44am
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4530240/Dissolution_of_the_Silent_Union/
tagged female protagonist and lgbt unsure if actually yuri but I like the vibes and will most likely check it out
Jul 26 @ 7:26am
also downside i just realised it's a f2p chapter one with the rest in DLC and they did not send a full pass for the DLC content so there's probably no point in me trying to evaluate it.
Jul 26 @ 7:18am
Gives me Card Captor Sakura vibes to an extent.
But yeah, I probably wouldn't expect anything beyond subtext. Looks cute though.
Jul 26 @ 5:07am
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4278010/The_Grade_5B_Case_Files/ Just got sent a copy of this - it's not labeled yuri and the characters are quite young so it may not end up here after I dig deeper, but I thought it was worth mentioning.
Jul 25 @ 11:45am
The game Necesse is getting a "romance update" on the 30th. I'd say decent chance it could have fxf.
Jul 23 @ 11:39am
Iirc in High Times the protagonist is canonically bisexual. All the romanceable characters are the protagonist's exes and there are unavoidable male exes too, so ymmv.
Jul 23 @ 9:38am
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2424420/Avatar_Legends_The_Fighting_Game/
Avatar fighting game. Korra and Kyoshi both have gitlfriends. From what I have seen in videos Kyoshi even has her girlfriend as an assist and they can be flirty. They also might add Korra's girlfriend Asami as a playable character down the line.
It's obviously not yuri focused, but KorrAsami fans need to know!
Jul 23 @ 5:59am
I talked to the dev for Max Savage and was told yes.
Jul 22 @ 10:18pm
(I think that's just not plausible. It takes time and effort to make a game, so most people will not choose to make games for both. And if a cash prize is only attached to one, guess which one many people will prioritize...)

But Hanako is right, this is not the place for that kind of talk. So instead I want to ask about the yuri content in Max Savage. lys_xen seemed to not be quite sure about it. Has something changed? I was looking forward to it since I saw it on Next Fest. But I though it actually having yuri may have been a longshot!
Jul 22 @ 12:44pm
We've been having "normal" yuri jams for years longer than we've had toxic yuri vn jam, and some people submit games to both they don't take up each other's space.
Jul 22 @ 12:28pm
It doesn't 'replace' anything afaik, it's one jam made by people who want to promote one flavor. Anyone willing to make the effort can stage another jam. Nothing's stopping them!

Lots of people enjoy relationships with a bit of darkness in them, especially if they are sick to death of cute fluffy one-true-love schoolgirl yuri which does get overdone sometimes. And as long as it's clearly labeled, people not into that can steer clear.

Anyway let's not have a big fight here it'll drown out new releases!
Jul 22 @ 11:58am
I think it is pretty terrible personally. It's a tired trope at best and often straight up reinforcing bad stereotypes.

Yuri as a genre was a counter-movement to the "doomed" societal enforced failure of lesbian relationships in Japanese media.
And glorifying "toxicity" is just plain fueling homophobes and their "lesbians have the highest rate of abuse in their relationships" nonsense.

More power to those who make it, but I still think better yuri could be made with that cash prize. Also consider that this replaces normal yuri jams, which had no restrictions like this. If a dev wanted to make toxic yuri nothing stopped them before...
Jul 22 @ 8:16am
I think it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ disrespectful to call it not good
Jul 21 @ 9:12pm
I wish people would spend that effort on some good yuri instead. Though considering there was a cash prize on the line it's not surprising there were so many entries.
Jul 21 @ 4:29pm
Why did I not know toxic yuri vn jam was a thing, and how do I get to it? Can we get doomed yuri vn game jam next?
Jul 21 @ 3:08pm
toxic yuri vn jam 2 just ended and if you can believe it there were more entries than the first one, I have been occupied
Jul 21 @ 1:31pm
I haven't gotten around to playing it yet either T.T
Jul 21 @ 1:01pm
I still haven't played Dreamy Golden Snow, but I will soon >.<

By the way, I wrote a 100% completion guide for Desert Blossom~

DB now has a high-quality localization, trading cards, cute emojis~ :Mars_punch::be_rich::eat_wrench::fox_hehe:
Jul 21 @ 12:36pm
Oh, Dreamy Golden Snow came out. Did we get an answer on how yuri it is? One review says it's full of one-sided unhealthy relationships...
Jul 18 @ 5:02am
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4773130/27_Survivors/

I have no idea why this is tagged LGBT. Doesn't seem super likely that it's for us though.
Jul 16 @ 12:41pm
It's been on the upcoming games thread for a while and has been moved to EA. EA games aren't put on the list but given Astral Shift's track record I and probably most other people here are expecting yuri.
Jul 16 @ 12:30pm
Jul 16 @ 8:15am
@Hanako - Sorry, I've been busy, but it does have English, but you have to change it in one of the settings. From the main page, it is like item 3 or 4 on it, and then you can pick it from there. I've only gone about 10 minutes in, but the translation doesn't seem to bad.
I just wonder why they aren't making Yuri FMVs, specially Thailand, they can earn so much.
Jul 16 @ 5:18am
I was hoping for a review of After-Rain Bookmark to pop up to verify the English but I guess we have to roll with the description.
Jul 13 @ 12:23am
The original was very firmly in subtext territory. I don't know if the remake aded anything more definitive though... sorry.
Jul 12 @ 5:06pm
https://store.steampowered.com/app/3675470/The_Aquarium_does_not_dance_Special_Edition/

Has anyone played this? Girls and aquariums are made for yuri vibes and some people say it's definitely there and others are suggesting more subtext... though it looks like it might be enough focus for a "light yuri" listing maybe even if not a full one. Not sure.
