For Div2 applicants, are there any willing to be subs? Not enough for 3 full teams, plus rosters MUST have subs.

Div1 Applicants please all comment here so I can add you all/make a group chat

NCeSPA Team Applications

#freegoomba — Thu, 05 Nov 2015 17:09:29 +0000

Hey guys, for those of you who are still interested in representing NYU in the NCeSPA CS:GO league, please fill out this form! For division 2, we’re allowed to sign as many teams as we like. Therefore, we’ll most likely let people sign up with whoever/whatever teams they like. For those who want to sign up as free agents or with only a few others, we will mix and organize teams as possible! I believe there is no absolute rank cap for division 2, however, the AVERAGE rank of the team must be MGE or below.

For Division 1, we’ll be running two teams (the first one being the current CSL roster) and the second one will have tryouts held if there’s enough interest. For division 1, we recommend being LE/LEM+ but anything above DMG is fine. (although they MAY change that rule).

Form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/17o_G3hcKUJKvnYhhwPRngh1LrVg_jTH8Ayw8bzdJiPY/viewform?usp=send_form

Edit: Applications will be accepted until November 9th

tl'dr: open up cs, go to game options, set your clan tag (team tag?) and boom!

If you'd like the NYU tag you have to be in this group: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/NYU

OFFICIAL NYU COUNTER STRIKE 1v1 TOURNAMENT

#freegoomba — Fri, 18 Sep 2015 18:42:37 +0000

Hey guys!
The official tournament will be taking place at the Bern Dibner Library of Science and Technology building at NYU Poly THIS WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 23RD starting at 5:30. You can get there very easily via the A, C, B, F, G, Q, R, 2, 3, 4, and 5 trains. There’s also an NYU Shuttle that leaves from 715 Broadway at 4pm and 5:15 pm. Please try to get there before 5:30 so we, and you, have time to sign people in, set up computers, and warm up, before the tournament actually starting.

Below is a registration survey everyone that wants to participate has to fill out. We will close the survey Monday night at 21:00, then draw up a bracket and figure out the final specifics that depend on how many people signed up. (Double-elim, bo1 or bo3, etc.)

Update Regarding Intra-Mural/Club Tourneys

#freegoomba — Mon, 14 Sep 2015 03:41:04 +0000

Hey guys! So updates from the last announcement post! (Sorry if you get tired of/annoyed with me, deal with it ♥)
So regarding the tourneys: Semester long tourneys won't happen THIS semester, but there's definitely a chance for them next semester, depending on demand/participation.
For the first (of many) tourney, it will be a 1v1 lan at the PGN meeting NEXT WEDNESDAY (September 23rd, 5-8pm on the POLY campus). There will be a FB event with more details regarding exact location/how to get there created closer to the date. (I'll post that to the steam group don't worry I got you guys)

Also if you guys haven't yet, join the PGN steam group as well for PGN-related info (which may include the lan tourney info): steamcommunity.com/groups/NYUPGN

Steam Group Rebirth!!!!

#freegoomba — Fri, 11 Sep 2015 19:58:05 +0000

Yayyyyy, the steam group is gonna be a lot more active now! So you guys can get announcements here too! (For all of you without Facebook/those that rarely use it). Here's the most recent/relevant announcement post from the fb group:

"So, as some or many of you may know, ESL ESEA Dubai Invitational is THIS WEEKEND. Finals are Saturday at 6:30 pm that time which translates to roughly 10:30 am this time? I don't know how many of you will be awake at 10:30 am on Saturday but if you are.... Stijn and I will probably/maybe be trying to get a little viewing thing going in an empty classroom somewhere? (Prob main campus, prob like cas or stern or wherever)

Also, currently trying to plan out a semester long tournament with two divisions, one will be 1v1s the other will be 5v5s (free agent style with rank taken into account for team creation) so stay tuned for that!
Lastly, discussing inhouses/lans, and I/we can't really figure out how to hold these without making it BYOC/BYOL, except maybe reserving a lan center (PC Bang, game room, pc center, whatever you call it). So are you guys okay with BYOC lans? Would you guys attend? If you have any ideas regarding this, please do share.

So yeah, that's everything there's no tl;dr. If you guys have any questions, comments, suggestions, please comment or message them!"

Also update to the unofficial viewing party: Will most likely be a gcasl room on 2nd/3rd floor (any empty one we find) and if you guys are interested in joining just send me a message, whether on steam or on facebook and I'll give you guys my contact info!
