I've never played an extraction shooter in my life. Didn't even know if I would like Marathon before last weekend. Tried the server slam and got hooked. Solo play is a horror game in the best way, and rook runs keep me coming back. Just don't look at the cosmetics monetization and you'll have a good time.

Also I do not apologize for playing like a filthy rat, y'all gotta stop making noise.

Crazy good indie tycoon game; for sure worth the $20.

Great game, absolutely love the gameplay. Story was pretty good. Music's great. Charge blade has never felt this smoove. A few gripes though:

- Low rank story quests being overly hand-holdy kinda sucks; many times where I hunted a story monster with a friend and wanted to hunt something afterwards, but had to wait a while because they immediately got stuck in an unskippable seikret riding scene. There are also some quests where you cannot do other multiplayer hunts until you progress the story, which is also really annoying.
- Multiplayer is very rough around the edges. Lots of disconnecting. Can't hunt anything unless you've seen the cutscene for it, meaning multiplayer story hunts must be started solo before linking back up on a designated player. Lobbies and parties being different is kind of dumb and somewhat redundant, and gets really confusing with environment links tossed into the mix. All of this is overly complex and needs streamlining.
- Commenting on optimization right now is like poking a hornet's nest, with "too smart by half" pessimists and overly defensive fans going at it under whatever discourse spins up. It's ridiculous. What I will say is that performance is mediocre. It ran *okay* on my 5800X/RTX3090, but nowhere near 60 without FSR framegen. Don't even mention my Steam Deck. It should be better for a game of this quality. I expect performance will come with the title updates, like it did with World. Play it if you can, otherwise just wait.

All of that said, I've still managed to get several friends to play with me because the combat is so damn good. Slowly working my way through high rank and having a blast. Here's to many more hours.

Solid cozy farming sim with great promise. Loved the first, and bought/played at launch. Just replayed now to see what was added. New slimes are awesome. Economy's a bit busted, in your favor. Excited to see what the devs add next. :)

Dawntrail has a lot of promise, with combat instance satisfaction at an all-time high and many great systems changes making the game much more enjoyable. (i.e. Graphics update, blacklist changes, etc.) However, what I can only consider a lackluster story brings it down to Stormblood tier.

Streamlined FFXIV-like combat with roguelite mechanics and none of the stress from PF, what's not to love? Scratches the itch for some good GCD-based combat. Highly recommend.

This game kicks ass. So simple yet so good. Genuinely one of my new favorite time killers.
