It's not a radical shift from the first game, but really improves on the gameplay loop across the board. I liked the higher variety of biomes and landscapes to explore, and I really feel like traversing the map isn't as tedious and monotonous as it was in the first game... though, that could be because I'm just so used to how the game works now.

The story hasn't hooked me as much as the first game's did, but by no means is it bad. $70 did feel a little "much" for a sequel considering how it doesn't try to change up the formula too much, but I've also gotten a lot of enjoyment out of this game (and series as a whole tbh) that I don't mind supporting KJP if it means we'll get more subversive games in the future.

Definitely feels like this game was made for a wider audience, but it still has a lot of the charm that I loved from the first, so if you enjoyed that, I don't think this will be too much of a departure!

I’ve only played through the first major boss fight, but so far this feels like such a faithful remake of the original game. The newer controls are a huge improvement over the original game’s and the visuals look great but still capture the vibe of the original. I’ve run into a couple of small bugs here and there, but the game seems largely devoid of some of the major bugs I’d expect from a new game at launch. It’s clear the team put a lot of love into this, and I hope it gives Disney reason to revive the franchise

I really enjoy this game, and it's honestly the only "Live Service" game that I think I genuinely enjoyed from the get-go. Can't really rate the game based on random matchmaking as I only ever play with friends, but the few times I've played with randoms it's been an enjoyable enough experience.

I appreciate that Sony has walked back on their original plan to enforce account linking. I know that kind of policy is more common nowadays, but not having a Playstation kind of turned me away from the idea of just registering for a PSN account and dealing with Sony's notoriously bad privacy and data track record.

This game's got base building/management and roguelike mechanics so it's right up my alley. Please help me, this game is consuming all of my free time.

In a sea of ♥♥♥♥♥♥ VR titles Half Life Alyx is an absolute gem. It's really the first VR game I've played that uses the medium to it's full potential to tell an engaging story without feeling overly gimmicky. The gimmicks are there, but in true Half Life fashion, they're organically integrated into the game's story and universe in a very enjoyable way.

Jeff is pretty spooky. 10/10

I don't know if I could or couldn't recommend this game. If you're wanting a story driven Fallout game you're going to be very disappointed. If you want watered down RUST in a Fallout setting then you'll probably enjoy it, especially with friends. I'm bummed they put so much effort into making a giant worldspace with interesting locations for a game that really doesn't have an engaging story, and I wouldn't be upset if they reused the map for a future story driven singleplayer spinoff.

I'd give it like a 6/10, it's better than it used to be, but has way more untapped potential.

I literally spent 90% of my playtime building settlements. The story itself is fine enough, but not anything amazing. I liked the gameplay upgrades though, and it's clear that Bethesda wanted to try and infuse some fresh ideas into the Fallout gameplay loop, for better or for worse.

Pretty fun if you like base building and sandbox games, not as fun if you want a super well written RPG with an engaging story that feels like it takes your big and small choices into account.

I'm pretty sure this was the peak of Obsidian's games. Their newer stuff isn't bad, but New Vegas really is lightning in a bottle. It's well written, the gameplay is pretty fun, the characters are unique and enjoyable, and it really feels like a nice throwback to earlier Fallout games.

I was hunted down by a crew of vile hooligans and was executed over two chickens. Way more fun with friends, and the Pirates of the Caribbean and Secret of Monkey Island tall tales are fantastic.

The Pepper Man's boss fight haunts my nightmares and keeps me awake at night. Pretty fun game otherwise, truly a slice of real Italian Culture
