Before you buy

Lets start with what this game does well over other games in this genre
- Spells make collecting ore and wood resources genuinely satifying, fun and fast.
- The main bosses are cinematic AF and feel unique, although they arent particularly hard.
- Seeing references to quests from osrs is charming and fun to experience.
- The base building gives you a lot of tiles to work with, letting you shape your base the way you want to with little limitation, other than foundation strength, which takes some getting used to

Now lets get into what makes this game worse than others

TL;DR The usual fun parts are boring and tedious, 4/10

- Too Buggy for a 1.0 release. Teleporting sometimes makes you glitch into the floor, Sometimes your stamina regen gets set 0.3/s making fighting and moving really cumbersome (No, its not from weight, or food/water/rest, I tested everything). For several playthroughs, we couldnt sleep in our base because enemies were nearby, when there weren't. Want to fill your watercan with clean water but you already have dirty water in it? Too bad, they dont mix, and the game doesnt let you dump out the dirty, so you're stuck with that water, and you can never fill it with clean water again. Got a cool lategame staff that summons a minion? Dont get too excited, because it wont follow over distance, wont follow if you teleport, and sometimes wont even fight unless it gets attacked, and thats assuming that it doesnt get summoned in a wall and glitched out. And that saying nothing about the bug that has caused many online to have their world save wiped. You get the picture.

- 3/4~ of the weapons are just reskins with slightly different stats, all the same movesets and no interesting choices to be made. A perfect example of how shallow the weapons are, is the fact that Best in slot for daggers and mage staffs are literally found in the tutorial area, upgraded to tier 8. Armors are all literally the same, with no different set bonus. Only difference is more defence and different aesthetics, which doesnt really matter because the enemies get harder so its like nothing has changed. Its more of a tax when entering a new area, and not a fun mechanic. Grind the hours down to get a new set of armor, and now you progress to the next area and do it all over again.

- The combat is clunky. All of your inputs are queued up, and you have to actively slow down your APM to make sure you dont swing an extra time, and end up taking a hit when you press the dodged button. Mage staves are all the same and all share the same special, and for some reason there is no earth magic? 80% of the time, air magic is the answer, unless you play with a group of friends and the other two become quite good. The basic auto attack for bows makes you backstep after every attack and not be able to stand still, making positioning annoying.

- Chest loot and quests rewards feel awful. Getting repeats of the same "broken crate pile" decoration schematic from most of the chests early just feels awful. You need to clean out the bad loot from the good loot so you dont carry around duplicates that do nothing but fill inventory space. Most of the other loot is usually, Rune essence, some basic runes, a weak potion and if you're lucky, a xp book that gives you a chump change worth of xp. Only until the last 1/3 of the game do you find a few weapon schematics at a very low rate, and previously mentioned, you probably wont even bother making them because the weapons are all nearly identical. Chests are basically just sources of random supplies to supplement your stockpile, not actual rewards. And quests... Half of them reward you a cape that does literally nothing and looks odd... What a bore.

- Mounts are lackluster. There are actually only two mounts, terrorbird and magic carpet. There's just 20~ different color schemes to switch to. Terrorbird feels very clunky, you do move faster, but you cant attack or interact with npcs or usable objects while mounted, giving this somewhat strange feeling to riding them. Magic carpets are really fun! They have fun physics and really good movement to them, unfortunately, they're only available in the last quarter of the game.

- Skilling feels unfinished and half baked. A lot of skills dont give any meaningful bonuses past lvl 70~. Games like this are supposed to reward you for reaching the pinnacle of your abilities, so why does most of the skills only give you 0.5% reduced stamina on attacks per level, for the last 30 levels? Whats the point of maxing out other than skill capes (which most only do negligable things)

- Crafting gear is a nightmare. Just look up the wiki page for infinity robe body. Why do I need to craft all those components just to pay the armor tax, make it simple jagex and condense all these materials into at most 4 components otherwise the experience is a nightmare for someone with adhd. I almost quit playing at this point, if not for my buddy doing all the leg work for both of us. By the time you have all the components, you've basically been through half of what the area has to offer anyway.

- Combat spells are lacking. Most skills give you a class weapon buff spells, and some utility. I would like to see more fun and flashy spells.

Anyway, thats enough from me, I could go on even longer but then it'd be just as tedious as playing this game. If the devs want to they could fix all the problems ive listed, but it feels like they would have done that already in beta if they wanted to, sadly. Game feels like it falls short of its potential and thats pretty sad. The usual fun parts are boring and tedious, 4/10

Aweful. Clunky confusing UI, requires constant google searching to understand basic gameplay mechanics. Im angry enough to refund it and I only payed 3$ for the complete edition.. Graphically looks so unstable as well

Pros :
- Nice 16 bit graphics with colourful sprites
- Satisfying boss fights
- Good artwork

Cons
- Repetitive game play loop
- humour that fell flat (in my opinion)
- Lots of back tracking
- Strictly linear point A -> collect item/fish -> return to quest giver progression through story/game

I had high hopes for this game coming into it, it seemed like it would be a funny and action packed fishing game with nice 16 bit graphics. Something drawing from Starfew valley, or dave the diver but with a bit more intensity in the fishing minigame. The fishing was pretty generic, mash A to fish, sometimes activate an ability to make fishing faster.
