What at first seems like a simple rhythm game with mediocre graphics and not much to it became a long and joyful journey down the rabbit hole for me.
The mechanic of this game seems almost dull at first glance, but offers a new perspective on rhythm as it goes on. While most games only give you distance between notes to see patterns in, DOFAI comes with an angle. From the process of waiting longer or shorter for the next button press visual patterns emerge.
You can SEE eighths, offbeat notes and other rhythmic patterns and therefore learn them easily.
And while every map of the main campaign is a challenge by itself, you will soon be able to complete levels, which seemed out of reach at first.
Also there's a great level editor and a lot of custom levels if you need an even harder challenge.

It's a rhythm game like no other and an easy pickup for its price.
