1. When first starting the game intentionally spawns you on the most inhospitable planet in the solar system so the player can feel that learning curve and feel helpless until they fix their ship
2. Maybe if permadeath seems a tad bit too challenging at first start a normal game so you can get a good understanding of how each mechanic works and also in permadeath everything is designed to be harder (ex. Less resources, higher prices, and you take more damage) so I see where you’re coming from with it being really difficult
