It's pretty solid where it's at right now... Although it needs a lot of work.

There's already a strong spark and it's very early on. I feel this'll be awesome upon completion

Surprisingly good. I really don't know how to describe it, but... It just hooks you.

The art is byfar the most charming case of programmer art i've seen. There's literally an enemy class that just burps at you when it dies. On the surface it sounds bad, but I just cannot hate it!

Also this game should run on a potato. But keep in mind stronger hardware may not get much out of it as the game is almost entirely run on a single thread. Seriously, it's more efficient to render than a youtube video.

A tip: play your favorite tunes in another window. The game has ONE music track... in the credits. Mind you, I am writing this review AFTER FINISHING THE GAME (in normal difficulty). There's also an ability to add music by self-modding the game (this will let it change music as you move through areas dynamically), there's guides to this.

P.S. It's nothing short of absolutely rad seeing the enthusiasm bleed its way through everything. Like-- There's this whole section in the credits area for just engine details! Do you know how damn awesome that is?

Great, but the complaints you may have seen on other reviews on performance are very much real. This game in the current state (early access circa June 2026) melts computers.

I can maybe get 30fps @1080p with dynamic resolution at the suggested "high" preset.

I see tons of potential! Just... maybe allow computers to run it better.

Worth every cent. As of EA launch day, still very Early Access, but absolutely stuffed to the gills with content. I think you'll get AT LEAST 15hrs* of story content. I have yet to get all the way there in survival and currently scouting out in creative.

Be warned though, it WILL cook the piss outta your pc. Although, visually... It's damn pulling out as much stuff as possible. For unreal, it's... really damn optimized.

I can just hold about 60fps at high settings @1080p w/o DLSS (DLAA enabled)
(Specs attached, It's a bit old, but able to keep up.). I am pleasantly surprised this old rig is still going

Notes about current amounts of currently accessible content. There are two distinct areas that are built in a strip. First is a plateau area that doesn't really go deeper than about ~150m. This is where most of the content is currently.

Second is a long strip going far deeper underwater. Contains large lore details. venturing outside developed areas and/or world borders are for the time being given a clear barrier line of a striped red border and a warning if crossed. Crossing it will trigger the typical "world border leviathan" (i.e. up to 3 GLs SN1 , and a special Chelicerate in BZ)

Vehicles currently are filled by a seamoth-seatruck hybrid vehicle known as the "Tadpole" as seen in trailer material. It features competent storage capabilities with docking for either an agility boost, or extra storage at the cost of speed.

Happy diving and ♥♥♥♥ KRAFTON.

*note: a file registered 12 hours for story only, when sped along with friends. Steam hour logs suggest longer. (For EA 1.0)
