A really lovely and fun modernization for one of the most important games of all time.
I absolutely love it and I think this is the Halo game I will point people to if they ever feel like getting into the series. It really serves well as a more accessible take on Combat Evolved that stays loyal to that game while tweaking some things to keep up with modern standards. Some see that as a betrayal to the original but I just see it as considerate to new fans which this series is in desperate need of.
I have always struggled with saying I 100% love Combat Evolved despite its importance in my younger years but this game's release feels like such a full circle moment for me and makes me appreciate both of these games more. I'm glad its here and I hope it can bring new fans to the series like it did for the people who helped me love it as well.

Since its faithful to the original Combat Evolved, I don't think its controversial to say progressing through this game is just so satisfying. I love marching through the story, I love obliterating The Covenant, I love searching for skulls I love hunting for achievements I just love the progression Halo games provide. There is just something so gratifying about its philosophy.
The cosmetics for this new take on the game are so unbelievably cool. The recolors being vibrant and distinct and the more specific armor designs being fun and flashy. Or in Timberwolf's case, the single most amazing design in the series I absolutely ADORE that armor. The problem with it on my end however is these are all things earned from an external source like redeemable codes or DLC, not unlockable through the game itself. Not the biggest issue but I feel like I should bring it up before a similar immersion breaking issue.

There are a few stability issues on PC like stuttering, cutscene framerate, extreme lighting issues when entering certain areas (the command deck in Pillar of Autumn, the Forerunner areas on Halo and Silent Cartographer, etc.) but despite the slight immersion break those issues provide that I would really hope are fixed soon, this game is still so therapeutic.

At the end of the day, it's Halo 1 and Halo 1 is pretty damn fun.

What if instead of "FNaF: Secret of The Mimic" it was called "FNaF: Obvious Statement of The Mimic" and the statement was "I love you so so so much Mimic I love you so much"

I play Resident Evil 3 Nemesis (1999) for Nemesis. I play Resident Evil 3 (2020) for Jill. I really wish there was a neutral ranking on steam but because Jill is lowkey goals I'll say this game is good :]

Edit: After 100%ing this game I can confidently say it is bad but Jill is still transition goals :]

Take my dainty hand as I take you back to a time long forgotten, 2013. Back in the day, BattleBlock Theater was the most hilarious, charming, enjoyable game I had ever laid my grubby chubby baby fingers on. So many after school get togethers and weekend sleep overs spent with buddies beating the game (as well as the snot out of each other in the arena). When it came to playing this game all over again nowadays, I have realized that the delicacy of this game may stand close to impenetrable until the end of my days, hopefully long after as well. Learning the tragedy of Hatty Hattington back then, so graciously presented by the silly and oh so willy Will Stamper, was an experience my younger self held fondly and being able to relive this introduction so many years later was such a euphoric experience. The art direction, brought to life by the legendary Dan Paladin, is so simple that is iconic, the soundtrack is beyond catchy to the point where you’ll probably catch yourself humming the level music again and again and even if the level designs can be rather challenging at points (sometimes to the point where it is complete and utter peeslosh) it always felt fair, as if it was I who needed to improve, not the game. This game has had a way of sticking in my mind over the years, whether it was the puppet shows performed by the narrator that never failed to get a chuckle out of me, gambling to find the coolest prisoner in the game, obliterating my friends with acid bubbles and grenades as well as being obliterated over and over again (both in the main story and in muckle) or finally buckling my pants and tackling the grueling task of the actually insanity inducing insane mode, it is these memories that will forever cement this game as one of the greats for me. The fact I was able to experience it all with my friends both back then and more recently is a fact I will forever be grateful for. However, it wouldn't be very lady-like of me if I didn't mention the most noteworthy friend of all, Tom Fulp, thank you for your big chicken and the memories you helped me and many others make both in this game and your other fascinating endeavors. As the ship sails and the theater is abandoned once more, I believe we all will all walk away with one thing in mind. Buckle your pants. Buckle your pants. Buckle your pants or your pants will fall to the ground.

While Steel Wool Studios are responsible for one of the best games in this series, Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted, all of the promise that game held is no where to be seen in Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach. This series is not immune to confusing and/or even frustrating writing choices but never has it felt more sloppy and rushed than in this game. While this may be the most successful of these games financially, nothing will change how this game launched. Push in all the bug fixes, fix all the optimization issues, bring in your silly DLC, this game will always be seen as the Cyberpunk 2077 of the Five Nights at Freddy's series. Hopefully Steel Wool can learn from this game and perhaps their 3rd time will be the charm. This series has been around for almost 8 years, if we have to wait another 8 years for their Freddy Faznum opus, so be it.
