After a little over 11 hours, ARC Raiders has already become one of the most engaging extraction games I have played. It combines tense scavenging, unpredictable player encounters, and a world that makes each trip feel uniquely dangerous without becoming exhausting. one more thing about that , it would be nice if i could give a downed player the option to give up all offensive weapons( and perhaps a little something more for the trouble) in return for a revive , rather than just knocking out.

Combat and Weapons , when one first starts the weapons can feel barely sufficient, but i get it, there is a progression system to provide motivation for better equipment, but im in the early game yet. so im limiting my feedback on that.

Exploration and atmosphere. their is an atmosphere of constant anxiety and danger, You are in danger indoors as well as outdoors where you will most likely have to cross wide open spaces, and the ARC can come out of no where . there are ARC inside of buildings and if your too loud they will hunt you . no place is safe.. for long.
sound is very important in this game, The sound design does a remarkable amount of work. Distant gunfire, mechanical movement, and footsteps and proximity chat often give you information before you can see the threat, which makes listening nearly as important as aiming. although one time i was hiding behind a desk to take care of inventory when an ARC, just came out of no where and found me, So the AI in this game is no joke, The arc are very relevant dangers, inside buildings and out, you have to be aware of windows, because ARC will snipe you through a window or even a hole in the wall, the ARC and the unknown variable of " who is here to kill ARC and who is here to kill me" adds to the anxiety .

The ARC and even other players can be used to your advantage in certain situations, one time i was running for my life to my extraction point , and it looked like i was going to die untill i ran into a small fire fight between other players at another extract , just running past them the ARC became distracted, and stopped chasing me and i barely made it alive to my extraction. all this Anxiety and excitement, and unknown player intents adds up so that by the time you make it(if you make it) to Extract and those doors close and you see "returning to Speranza".. you get this wonderful release of endorphins.

if your sketchy about PVP content mixed with PVE content, i would recommend you look at videos all over the place, but make certain you watch a variety of them . the unknown variable of player choices really ups the excitement and anxiety for me, but it may very well be too much for the more casual player.

technical------ this will run on a pretty modest system, right now im without video card (NVIDIA sent a bum one... waiting for the new one.)

So im running this on the Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) Ultra 7 265K, 3900 Mhz, 20 Core(s), 20 Logical Processor(s) using the integrated video controller, im certain it wouldn't be good enough for the most discerning graphics junkies, but it runs smoothly and does not turn into a slide show. and im not overclocking it at all 32 gigs of

Crucial Pro 32GB DDR5 RAM Kit (2x16GB),CL36 6000MHz, Overclocking Desktop Gaming Memory, Intel XMP 3.0 & AMD Expo Compatible, at default speed and timings and my Motherboard is

ASUS PRIME Z890-P WIFI Z890 LGA 1851 ATX motherboard, Intel® Core™ Ultra Series 2 Ready, Advanced AI PC-ready, 14+1+1+2 power stage, DDR5, PCIe® 5.0, Thunderbolt™ 4 USB Type-C®, 4x M.2, Wi-Fi 7, 2.5Gb.. and once again default settings . Games installed on a Model Samsung SSD 990 PRO with Heatsink 2TB , i also have a 4 terabyte hard drive but my local LLM uses that( which i do have to shutdown temporarily to play(which is fine its a work in progress anyhow)

Connectivity .. i haven't been discod yet after 11 hours... and there is no stuttering . and the wait times for getting into the maps are very reasonable... so far less than 3 min.

The only time i ever felt that things were "unfair" was when one time i was spawned in an open area surrounded by ARC. admittedly my lack of expierience and being unfamiliar territory played a factor in my rather quick death. I was in a free kit .. so not to tragic. which by the way, i have adjusted my playstyle to account for my lack of expierience by focusing on free kits to get in -----goop up----get out . immediatly when i am surface. i way point the extract and work my way there , gooping up while doing so. once i build up a nice stash of weapons, crafting them or finding them, then i take bigger risks.

At 11 hours, I still have plenty left to learn, but the game has already delivered enough memorable moments to earn a strong recommendation. I am looking forward to seeing how the experience develops as I explore more of its systems and maps.
As for player encounters go , ive only been killed by one player. and i should of taken the shot when i had the oportunity... with that being said ... i think im going to conduct "shot gun diplomacy" in 2 ways... if im in a free kit and just gooping up, ill be more relaxed... however if i get to the surface with much better equipment that i had to spend resources on to craft, i may have to adopt more of a "shoot first ask questions later sort of politics. Most complaints seem to come from gamers with ZERO survival instincts.

I liked this game, because it allows you to play it , the way you want to play it. it doesnt force you to play the main quest at any point, and you can just wander, and craft your own settelments despite the main quest. or you can forget all that and just play the main quest.. choice is yours.

What i like most about this game, is it's deep gameplay mechanics , and the many DLC content that allows one to customize their expierience even further.
