Playing Snowbreak: Containment Zone was more rewarding than I had expected. Initially, because of the generous rewards that include three five stars characters and a 5 star weapon, secondly, because of the rewards that you are able to get simply by playing through the main story, which are enough to afford another 5 star character AND weapon, if one chose to spend it that way.
But I also was surprised by game's story, it starts with a predictable gacha formula - a world in crisis, you being a special individual who is given a role of authority to combat it. But it spins into a very interesting sci-fi tale about the political clashes in a world threatened by gigantic beings. Now and then, the story would give you details that were genuinely interesting and justified following it. But I would say that it's most satisfying turnpoints happen every 7 or 8 chapters.
The gameplay is simple, each operative having a certain gun type and two active skills - plus a support skill (for you to activate while you play as another operative) and an inherent passive. The highlight here is it being a shooter and characters having no healing skills - once you are in the battlefield, you are meant to shoot through it. Even so, there is a surprisingly refreshing amount of different modes and content. Battle simulations - such as main story stages, boss rushes, resource stages. Acacia's games - which includes games that, in their lore, were developed by one of the characters in game. That includes a management sim, two palworld-like islands, fishing and a puzzle game.
Besides that you also have a base where you can give the characters decorations, see random events involving the girls, play two minigames in special areas and collect tetris puzzle pieces to fill boards with for rewards. The base is not really customizable, only giving you the option to buy decorations from a list specific to each character, which are then placed in their room for you, with no possibility of editing their placement.
The biggest downside of the game is how it caps the level of your operatives to your account level. That means, playing through the campaign, someone will simply run to a point where they cannot advance any longer with their own characters, because the level that enemies have is the maximum and the player has no chance to increase their own level at the same rate. However, most content that is leveled to the maximum character level - which is 80 - will offer you trial characters to play with, so you are not completely locked out of these modes and playing with your own characters or trial ones yeld the same rewards.
The game also offers diferent kinds of upgrade systems. As I mentioned, each character has, in total, four skills. Their active, ultimate and support each have two options of upgrades that can give the character and/or skill new properties, but upgrading them, after the first, is only possible after your operative reaches certain levels, with gaps increasing until you can finally enhance the 6th option. Doing so will automatically upgrade the character's passive. Other than that, you can collect officer "cards" (that act as runes) to enhance basic stats and give buffs or bonuses. Collect parts, from upgrading weapons, to customize said weapons.
Also, extra copies of characters and weapons can be used to enhance their exclusive skills or give new ones. This is the most gacha heavy upgrade system in the game, as getting those extra powers, for characters, can only be done at a very slow and unrewarding pace, unless you pull many copies of the same character, and you can't avoid pulling for a second copy of a five star weapon, if you want to upgrade it's inherent ability.
In general, it's a fun and surprising gacha with a refreshing shooter gameplay that will reveal it's slow pace to the player in time, but doing so won't necessarily push you away, because it isn't time demanding to keep up with it's own internal routine.

I won't even bother talking about the lewd skins or scene system as it's mostly a feature for paying players and wouldn't even enhance my experience, from a gameplay standpoint.

Early Access Review
This RPG game is actually really easy to get into and has room for plenty of customization through the form system that allows you to change your skillset both out and mid-battle and a gem system that allows you to customize the properties of said gems through merging and apply them to most items you will find scattered in the game.
I think it's important to comment that the game seems to have a few major bugs, for example, my interact button became unresponsive towards any objects after trying to interact with the boxes in Quandir's sewers. Something like that can be a bother, but still I have run into very few situations like that and it's easy to recover any lost progress as long as you save often.
Most battles aren't challenging at all and can actually be skipped, the characters are full of personality and the story is enough to make you want to know where everything is going to lead to.
The game doesn't really seem to feature much adult content or scenes, most of it being displayed as nudity, few and scattered events, comments made by characters or being referenced in some skills.
All in all, it's a simple RPG that rewards exploration, gives a lot of room for customization, features an enjoyable story and light adult elements.

I will divide this review in the following categories :

- Game atmosphere
- Actual Gameplay
- What I believe that should be prioritized in the upcoming updates
- My personal suggestions to the devs
- Final Review

GAME ATMOSPHERE
When you begin the game, you're sitting besides what seems to be a pixel Keanu Reeves, who will introduce himself as Hades and tell you that a bunch of guys killed your family before offering you a drink. Next moment, you're in a strange bar ready to jump into the Abyss to kill a god...Or perphaps just to take a pause and enjoy the music of a rave as your character rocks the dancefloor.
And that's pretty much Neon Abyss, as you explore the dungeon, you won't be able to forget that rave feeling as your weapons turn into a light show the more you pump it up and you might have a taste of American Gods as you defeat the final bosses, while the ones that come before them are funny sketches of consumism and critics to modernity (ex. god of pills, god of mobile videos...).

ACTUAL GAMEPLAY
I believe anyone that had a past experience with roguelike games will be familiar with most aspects of Neon Abyss and might find it pretty casual. It consists of getting through many rooms, collecting coins, bombs, and keys to open special rooms and chests ( sounds familiar? ) in order to get items and weapons that will make your character stronger.
So, what makes this game different? It has has two unique systems that you'll be able to encounter early in game : collectable pets which can fight on your side and a " faith " system which allows you to get more items by being damaged or killing enemies while avoiding damage ( I know it sounds confusing when put like this, but just take my word for now that it's pretty cool and experiment by yourself )
Aside from that, you'll find a tech tree in the game which allows you to unlock special rooms such as mini-games or more ways to spend your in-game resources, characters and items. Which means that there is always a reason to do "just one more run",

UPCOMING UPDATES PRIORITIES
I think that the features and changes that were shown to be tested in the experimental branch fill pretty much any gameplay demand I could have with my experience so far. Good work devs!

PERSONAL SUGGESTIONS
These are mostly about character customization : the game has awesome looking items, and I wish there was a way we could control which items are actually being displayed over our characters or not, since we can collect so many of them. So maybe displayed items could have special frames in our inventory and we could scroll through them in order to select and unselect what masks, hats and weapon mods we have currently on.
The second suggestion would be adding some kind of wardrobe in the bar where we could change special skins collected by defeating the game bosses. We would be able to firstly unlock skins of the used character and, if we had all of his unlockables skins so far, we would start getting skins for other characters.

FINAL REVIEW
This game has been released 6 days ago at the time of this review. It has bugs, it could use some changes - and the developers are already showing that they will work for these changes. The game has a refreshing amount of items and weapons, 10 characters, and all the unlockables and side-content keep making each run a new surprise everytime you play. I definitely reccomend and believe that this game could be a great introduction to anyone who is curious or want to get into the roguelike genre.

The game's art give a casual feel that I consider immersive into the narrative. I like that the game, although it's a visual novel, gives a point and click feeling, you can click objects in the room to know a little about your character and how she feels - that aspect is only superficial, though. After playing and getting two endings, it seems the story changes after certain endings which makes you want to know what will happen next. It's a short game, which is also good in a way, as you don't need to jump through incredible amounts of dialogue in case you're still trying to figure out an ending. Overall, it's beautiful and and emotive.

I think that Endless Legend did well into bringing both scenery and it's factions to life through a well made world map, with many anomalies and resources that not only randomize gameplay, but truly make Auriga an enchanting place. Each faction having it's own storylines and introductions, as well as abilities, gives the necessary depth to make each of them unique, allowing for different playstyles. It's a game that is fun and incredibly beautiful. The DLC's also add resources and technologies that keeps bringing this game to another level.

The game keeps receiving new content after so many years after it's really!I had always been thrilled by the ammount of content it has and how it can take literally the saying "The only limit is your imagination".
