Would love this game more, but the rng is just ridiculous. I'm sorry but i don't have all day every hour to dedicate myself to this game. Progress is really slow, furniture +1 -1 +1 -1 +2 -1 +1 -2. Guillotina, cool boss right, but oh you lost and now shes just gonna keep coming and coming and coming, so how am i suppose to save up if theres so much bs to balance between. I win a few runs I get to the desert i get to crater/bunker then youre hit with layered layered enemies, bosses that are just a headache, I beat a boss because it got stuck in a corner and couldnt do anything, otherwise id probably lose. Great soundtrack.

Cats are just random, whats the point of saving high leveled good cats if they dont pass nothing on like every except their most useless ability/ the ability they already started with. I skip days because oh I won a few rounds I should be able to breed like a better starting stats cat, or this ability should breed from them, no its a ability none of them have, worst stats, or just uselessness. so I go run after run of just losing because their stats are ♥♥♥♥, whats the point of a fighter? they get downed after one encounter then it just snowballs, you try to keep them safe to perhaps heal them, but no the enemies see that cool thats neat, not hating that, but fighter having such low heath for no reason. I dont get it, all the later tags are just better, i see no reason to pick fighter or mage, when sustain is just better, and later enemies just nullify anything to do with other classes/tags.

I have one good run then a bunch of ♥♥♥♥ runs. I try to breed I try to seperate, then lets not forget the prices of upgrading, why? why so much, im not asking for it to be given to me, but jesus i just breed and throw cats away endlessly at times because why does a simple upgrade cost so many lives? so many cats? you expect me to play for hrs just for it all be thrown away at a lost, at guillotina ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ my ass because i cant get a good run with decent cats? 25 or this 25 for that. I dont find that enjoyable, I feels more like wasted time then building up for anything. guillotina beats you great lose everything love it. you expect her to give you some space but one day later all of the sudden there she is again go win a few runs and hopefully you have some good rng and get good abilities or get abilties that do nothing for your cat, abilities that dont mesh or meld together, great hopefully you can keep tht cat alive until it gets the opportunity to switch out its passive. no? well hopefully you get deccent abilities. no? well wasted run. or spend resources keeping the cat alive because it cant do ♥♥♥♥.

anyways thats my rant, ive had fun but its just draining. dead god isaac, and that was a headache at times, but this just comes off as rolling dice, picking out of a hat, bs. i can go to the slots and have more enjoyment

This game is fun, is it worth 40$ I wouldn't say so. A lot of it is the same, new enemies sure, and a few new toys but the same skills, performance problems, etc. Thankful since the game is so short (half or less than the first game) you start with each ability (2 levels in each skill at the start). I get it's a "DLC" but personally get on discount, still fun tho.

The finishers are very limited, there's only like 5 types and whenever you do one it cuts to a cut-scene of it being performed, but they get old quick, sometimes you don't even get a change to use them in areas they're in because how far they are from enemies, especially on harder difficulties.

The new weapons are very fun, and you get to use the bigger more exciting weapons more often huge plus, your auto-9 also gets a awesome new board near the end that just demolishes everything. I feel like they added many hub areas to the game, but they server no purpose then to talk to a few npcs from before. Personally I feel like they should've had more to-do for these areas, It's definitely a far more linear then the first. Another rant is the difficulty hard and extreme they aren't, different Dev's definitely worked on different areas, sometimes there's healing items between each room, and other area's they're few and far between.

The ending is anti-climatic, the final mission is just a few small objectives, then a run to get to the top and catch the big bad. They hype up this big drone robot, so bad you don't want to run into it ever but... There is no drone boss, its a few rooms with it flying around the tower shooting at you while some grunt waves bother you, but since the drone is so strong (basically and ED that flies) it just kills the enemies for you, no joke half the time its not shooting you but the other grunts. You end up just disabling it and it crashes and that it, no fight not really dodging it or anything, just kinda mozing on the final floor. Finally you reach the big bad and... A cut-scene plays RoboCop is so cool he stops his escape, oh boy maybe there's another drone, or he has some "Macguffin" or something but no he gets up they talk for a moment and you have some slow mo event where you have to shoot him, he dies the end roll credits, no post story, no what happened after, just credits, back to main menu. The final few missions felt rushed development, I'm sure they had ideas to add a boss, etc. but it falls flat at the end.

There is no new game plus, although I personally didn't have a reason to do a new game plus, just a downside compared to the first game. I do think if there's no new game plus, I should be able to max out every skill, maybe you could but i couldn't.

The achievements are just like the first game, a few you get from exploring but generally you're getting most of them just playing the game, I feel the Dev's could add a few that are more difficult. I had one bugged achievement Part Man, Part Machine, All Correct I did this achievement many times but it just didn't proc.

Performance is a huge issue, for a game like this, it really shouldn't struggle at all, I played through it but having to use dlss just to get 20fps in some areas is really bad optimization. I feel many places was just poorly optimized. Sometimes I get somewhere before the game could load, when this happens I can see outside the map, and see many things just loading outside that you can't see and shouldn't be loaded, Spinning in a circle drops frames heavy, many times looking in certain directions just ♥♥♥♥♥ on performance, if you destroy too much details in a area it drop performance heavy too. this has been an issue since the first game. thinking they spent time on this "DLC" they could look into optimizations and engine upgrades, plug some memory leaks, etc. The guns even have unnecessary details modeled, that you wouldn't see during normal game-play. It really sucks when they added a new enemy, a robot drone that are basically moving landmines, they chase you after sometimes if you don't destroy them. The issue is when the game starts chugging and you can't aim properly because of the performance issues they explode on death, not only that if they're more then one in a room, you shoot one others around it activate, and start honing in on your location. I've died a few times because my games starts chugging and I can't aim at them properly. This is on a 4th gen m.2, 4060ti, 32gb of ram, Ryzen 5 5600x, and it chugs still with dlss with frame generation, crazy.

Any-who I had fun playing it, I loved the first game with all it's downsides with performance, this game would be a a lot, I mean a lot better if the performance issues were fixed. I would recommend it if they did.

L4D2 took hrs of my life away, I recommend it 100%. Campaign is where I would start as it will give you game knowledge and map knowledge, I would skip anything really offline unless youre going for achievements or just wanna be alone ofc, I would start on normal if youve barely play games, advance if you want some of a challenge but not really, and expert if you want to get a headache at times... Custom campaigns are also gerat, I cant get enough of them, although since its usergenerated, quality varies, generally keep to the ones most sub or fav etc. (one problem is that theyre much more mazey, long, sometimes feels like it was thought on the spot.

once you understand the map, how special infected work, how to handle a tank, witch, etc. go play online Versus. dont be suprised in current year there is hackers, they havent made me put the game down. kinda weird they get off on it from tho. Understanding how deep the game really is how the game interacts with each other, all the special techniques to learn make this game quite endless. Valve released another banger.

I would love another l4d, of course probably never or not soon
