Now this is a how you make a creature-collecting, Pokémon-inspired game without completely ripping off the base material!

My first impression of this game was that it was 'just another' Pokémon clone, but I was so wrong. It goes far beyond it and, while clearly inspired, it does so many things in it's own unique way that after only a couple hours of playing, comparing it to Pokémon (especially more modern Pokémon games) felt so wrong. A bit offensive, actually.

Not to mention this game plays BEAUTIFULLY on the Steam deck. It was my favourite game to play during the UK heatwave, as I could get away from my toasty hot PC room and sit downstairs on the couch with my trusty Steam deck. It eats next to none of the battery - I was so impressed.

My only issue is that the game did seem to randomly crash on a small handful of occasions, losing me a little bit of progress which was luckily more-or-less saved by the autosave feature. I lost one rare potent mon to this, sadly, but did manage to find it again some time later. It was never at all obvious why the game would crash - it seemed so random, that I found myself saving fairly frequently, just in case.

I write this after finishing the main story but I will no doubt be back soon for some achievement hunting and potent/perfect mon grinding.

Speaking of the potent/perfect system, I LOVE IT. Love love love it. 10/10 no notes.

If you love Pokémon, especially the more classic titles, please give Coromon a shot! It will impress you without a doubt :)

A simple, relaxing survival/crafting game. Perfect for winding down. :)

The only frustrating part for me was that I finished absolutely everything there was to do long before I could get the achievement for surviving 50 days. Since it was the only achievement I had left to unlock, I couldn't let it go lol. So I spent roughly 4-5 hours simply... idling, waiting for the days to tick over.

I'd say it's worth roughly 10-12 hours of simple, calming entertainment.

Amending my review because I was not aware at the time that the game was using Gen AI images and assets. This is a big no-no for me.

As is the typical response when devs have been caught, they pretended they didn't know about it in the first place. Always the same response.

They're only sorry because they got caught.

I wanted to be optimistic about this game, but they're burning their bridges VERY quickly.

Speeding through the forest as a lil boarlet at 100mph is fantastic.

(Such a short, sweet little game with fun collectables and achievements. Easily would recommend this to anyone needing a chill game to feel relaxed with <3)

I wanted to like this game so badly, as a kid that grew up obsessed with dinosaurs and the concept of becoming a paleontologist, but sadly the controls, lack of direction and bugged achievements quickly ruined it for me.

I appreciate the immense attention to detail (that you would expect from a paleo sim game) but unfortunately it becomes too complex too quickly. The game barely tells you what to do and when to do it and I became stuck multiple times within just a handful of hours that it just grew frustrating and it started feeling more like a chore than a game.

I earned multiple achievements that never actually triggered, which instantly put me off.

These are issues which could easily be fixed which would immensely improve the quality of the game but sadly doesn't look like they ever will be.

NOT A SPOILER FREE REVIEW - READ WITH CAUTION

I played this trilogy for the first time ever in 2026.

These games have, without a doubt, blown me away. I played them across the past month, back to back, with little to no context going in of the story and characters. I didn't enjoy sci-fi themes growing up and have only gotten into the genre within the part few years, and boy am I glad I did because this was an unforgettable gaming experience. You know when you discover a fantastic TV show that's already finished and you get to binge-watch all 10 seasons... then afterwards you're left with an empty void of "Now what?" when it's all over? Yeah. 100% that.

I spent much of the first game reading codex entries, absorbing the lore and detail of the world. I became quickly enamored with the Turians and it took an entire 10 minutes for Garrus to become a permanent part of my team (and love interest from the 2nd game onwards - I didn't romance anyone in the first game because I wanted HIM). The races all have their own fascinating politics and intrigue. So much love was put into this universe and it's obvious. Garrus and Wrex came with me everywhere.

The second game was by far my favourite. The companion missions were a joy. Honestly wish they had been even longer because I loved them so much. Games that show this much attention to their characters and their development are easy favourites for me. (I took quick note of the fact that Garrus seemed self-aware of the fact he was now a romanceable character because his charm swept me off my feet in 0.2 seconds after meeting him again.) Since Wrex was unavailable, he got replaced with my new son, Grunt.

The third game I had little issues with, sadly. Namely the planet-probing side missions. They weren't fun, they barely seemed to contribute towards anything and hunting around the planets with the Reapers constantly after you just made it frustrating, and I ended up following a guide so I could get them completed asap.

Also I had to replace my Krogan besties again but this time, with EDI. I love EDI.

I could write an entire essay alone on the romance dialogue/cutscenes. I played the same Shepard throughout all three, carrying over all of my choices and situations to the next game, and it genuinely made me somehow believe that my Shepard, my choices and my insanely ridiculous attachment to Mr. Vakarian was actually canon. Like this was just the most natural progression of character romance I have ever seen in a video game and the ending killed me. No, you don't understand. That final scene of Garrus reaching out to Shepard and telling him he loved her hurt my entire soul.

I still haven't absorbed the ending fully. I wasn't expecting the choices I was given. It felt like I made the right decision, but it was incredibly bittersweet (mostly bitter though).

The DLC, for the most part, was brilliant, but is definitely triggered too early. My husband luckily nudged me to not start the Leviathan and Citadel DLCs until closer to the end and I'm extremely happy I listened. The Citadel DLC is my favourite DLC I have ever played in any video game. I was actually sad when I saw the achievement pop up to indicate I'd finished it as I wanted so much more of it. I could play an entire game with that level of humour and unserious attitude. It was a joy in every single way.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to stare blankly at a wall as I figure out what supposed to do with my life now and join the rest of you as we impatiently wait for whatever comes next.

It's 2026 and the cake is STILL a lie :(

(It was actually, somehow, my first time playing this - I had a blast. Perfect if you want something to play in an afternoon like I did. I thought I was going to struggle but I only had to look up one little solution just to push me in the right direction. Makes you use your head, and I love that!)

I meant to play this game *years* ago and (like pretty much everyone else right now), the announcement of the sequel finally pushed me to play it. I'm glad I finally did!

Whatever you do though: do not go into this game expecting a cosy, light-hearted experience. Don't let the Pixar-coated aesthetics fool you. There's a good deal of combat you want to prepare for before jumping in.

There is a story mode which tones down the difficulty a significant degree, but even still some of the boss fights still prove a bit of a challenge!

Oh... and some story elements will tug on your heart strings and make you cry. Prepare for that too. :D

I first played Palia back when it first released (before it was on Steam) and had an absolute blast with it. It's addictive, it's fun and there's always something to do. Sometimes I have to take it slow and focus on one thing at a time else I'll get overwhelmed with choice!

Here I am, back again, two years later. I started from scratch and the intro has been streamlined so much better now. I think the only thing this game really lacks for beginners is there's not much of a tutorial around how to set up your house, add rooms, etc. It kinda just... throws you in and lets you figure it all out for yourself (not that it's exactly complicated, but still).

It's a completely free game with absolutely no incentive to spend money. There's no gacha, no pay to win, nothing of the sort. You can purchase additional outfits and pets with coin bundles. These are by no means cheap, but there is plenty of choice and, again, no pressure to buy them whatsoever.

It's currently my favourite game to sit and back on the couch and relax with on my Steam Deck :)

Very simple, short but super cute game! Relatively straightforward to 100% as well.

There's not much story - simply a cat trying to make their way back home. The gameplay focuses entirely on the ability to mess around in the city as a kitty cat. If you love cats, this is the game for you. That's all there really is to it!

The only issue I came across was with the kitty customisation on Steam Deck. The markings have a 'box' around them and so, if you place too many of them, you're left with a cat covered in texture lines. Wasted about 45 minutes trying to accurately recreate my own cat, only to realise she looked awful out of the customisation menu. These issues weren't present on PC, however. I did alert the devs via their Discord to which I received a response, so hopefully this is looked into soon.
