This game is cooking, it is just really bad at explaining its systems and has 1 poorly optimized map that is played in the early game.

My first hour I thought the game was slacking. Once I got out of commoner though it became really fun. It is really frustrating to die and restart over and over in beggar/peasant, when you can be easily one-tapped. Once I got armour it became a nonissue.

Loot your opponents after you win. You can walk up to them and grab a specific body part, hold the grab button and unequip their armour or unclip weapons on their belt. Hold the grab button while holding the armour piece to equip it on yourself. Anything you take out of a match you keep. Anything you leave behind at the end of a match you will lose.

It is a good idea in early ranks to grab and sheathe as many extra weapons as possible before you leave a match so you can sell them at the merchant for extra money

Insure any good weapons/armour you pilfer at the merchant so you can use them for free on future characters if you die

Good $8 game along the lines of Lethal Company, so if you liked that game and its social aspects, you'll enjoy this.

The game is only as fun as the people you play with it, you'll either have an amazing time or a bland one if you don't have good chemistry with the people you're playing with.

Very dependent on the cameraman to get good clips. You only have 1min30sec of footage you can nab, and only one person can hold the camera.

The game would be improved by letting multiple people grab footage, and having a "clipping" function so you can retroactively clip something that's already happened, rather than proactively rolling the tape hoping something funny or scary will happen, especially since you are incentivized to be selective for when you're recording. More entertaining interactions would be caught this way that are lost otherwise. Having everybody able to record or clip things would allow for the gameplay to be more collaborative. If the cameraman sucks you're SoL that game.

More randomized map generations would be good for replayability, and more variety of creatures and phenomena you can run into, since the game relies a lot on the fear of the unknown. There's a relatively small amount of monsters you can run into at launch currently.

Having a tool to help you retrace your steps like bread crumb trails or spray paint would be nice QoL and could have interactions with any new creatures, like a monster that eats and follows breadcrumbs or leaves trails of their own.

good core gameplay but very much unfinished, very spooky microtransaction practices for a paid game... play deep rock galactic instead and check here again in a year

I think I would've spent $200+ dollars on this game if I bought all the DLC for it full price. 10/10 not a moneypit

You can waste many hours of your life playing this game, because it's like 200 games in one.
