The tragedy was proceeded by a series of events...
A neat little novel with the vibes of some particular RPG Maker games. You know - snarky comments, hilariously despondent dialogue, a story that's like a downwards spiral - that sort of stuff. Despite being confined entirely in a poorly lit dusty office, it still manages to take you on a wild ride.

You take the role of an office worker who has to go through a number of cases, interviewing people about certain events in their lives. Your job is simple, just filling some documents out with key points for each story. It's entirely up to you whether you want to approach this task in a dry manner, or actively listen to each testimony. There is no one to supervise you either way.

The narrative is mostly linear, with a few joke choices here and there. It's pretty short, yet the game's "aftertaste" lasts for awhile. You're not told everything upfront, leaving just the right amount of vagueness to give you some food for thought and wonder about the dilemmas presented.

It's a nice overall experience in its native language, and the English translation seems to be decent, having been freshly updated just recently. There are still a few typos to iron out, and some nonsensical lines, but it's a step in the right direction.

All in all, it's a great read, curious and harrowing, compressed in a small package.
