As of right now, this game is barely functional. You either are in a forever matchmaking loop of finding a game, going to a loading screen, then being sent back to the main menu OR you are sitting there waiting to log in after being forced out. When you do get into the game, the framerate is very poor and it's not like you're getting top of the line graphics either. I would recommend waiting at least a month until they get everything sorted out before giving it a go just for those reasons.

The gameplay however feels... okay. It's not bad, it's not great, it's right in the middle. I like the idea, but it's lacking anything more than the basic concepts. The characters are generic and the guns are what you'd expect from a shooter. Highguard being an average title is the leading issue. An average game will be forgotten and people will move on. I believe it would honestly be better to be a "Concord 2" so at least people will remember it.

I enjoy this game a lot and it's reminiscent of older Battlefield titles in trying to just be fun, but I don't feel nearly as attached to it as I was hoping. The maps are some of the worst designed ones I've played through in a Battlefield game. Cramped and extremely linear areas that are filled with people who min-max loadouts or vast open spaces that snipers and vehicles will rule over. None of the maps feel nearly as polished or thought out as previous renditions (I stopped playing after Battlefield 4, so I can't speak on 1, 5, or 2042), which is a little disappointing since this feels like a "return to form" attempt.

Above all I do find this game fun and I will come back to it, but as of right now I'd only really recommend this on a decent sale. I think $70 is a bit much for near free-to-play system they have implemented.

4k+ hours Tarkov veteran here and I am thoroughly enjoying my time. It's not a Tarkov killer and won't replace it, but this is a really fun ride. Playing solo is actually viable and interacting with others can be a gem.

the DLC brings this game from a maybe buy to a yeah you gotta play this. I heavily anticipate Atomic Heart 2 and The Cube now.

This game is $15 and is more polished than a vast majority of $70 titles. If you're on the fence, just get it.
