This is a miracale game that almost didn't exist; I'm absolutely marveled that it came out, and on steam as well!!!

It's a game with a codebase 14 years into the making; that means, you can run this thing on a HUGE margin of computers. I'm playing this right now on a very cheap laptop with only 4GB of ram and it handles perfectly.

It's a crazy efficient game engine, for hardcore tetris fans that care about building up speed and agility. If you're looking for a thrill of a tetris ride, you can't get anything better than this on steam.

Early reviews of this game are also saying that there's no keyboard rebinding; that has since been changed. Also, tested this with an 8-bitdo arcade stick with the TGM layout, perfect way to emulate the arcade experience!

Review from the perspective of a Veteran player of Modern Tetris:

This title is a very impressive collection of a couple of things:

* The history of Tetris and it's origins, featuring videos, images, and quotes from people such as Alexy Pajitnov and Henk Rogers
* Several collections of games, both emulated and re-created (With more being added!)

To understand this collection is to realize what you're getting. The vast archive of history and interviews I personally believe is a HUGE chunk of the content that really breathes life into this software. While there are games here, and some good ones at that, they are half the experience if you don't include the rich history and details that are also within here.

The re-creation of the original tetris is a nice one, with small touches that reflect original gameplay. There are a ton of emulated titles in the collection that are mainly from Blue Planet software, aka the Modern Tetris Company today. Given this, there isn't a way to currently play the OG gameboy tetris, but there is a replacement called "1989 tetris", which simulates the experience of the original, but with SRS rotation (modern rotation, so tetromino spins are possible)

The modern take on tetris - "Tetris time warp" is a rock-solid formula and plays like a modern game with the twist of using the original tetris, 1989 tetris, and bombliss. The time warp game can be played without the time-warping, so it can effectively be played as a vanilla engine if you're looking to play something modern after using the different mechanics from older games.

The only caveats I have:

* The game is locked at 60FPS as of right now, would be nice to have VSYNC in the future
* On Steam deck the console frames and filters mess up the display of the game, likely because steam deck doesn't play at 16:9. If the filters and frames are turned off, it's possible to play normally on steam deck.

---

Overall - this is a great package of content. If you're walking in, I would expect a very delightful history deep dive of tetris first and foremost, that's what this collection is for. Secondly, the modern tetris engine plays excellent for timewarp. I want to play time warp more for it's gimmick, as well as the bundled-in 1989 tetris remake of GB tetris.

Another thing to note, the team for this game also wants to add more games in the future! One was already added, which is "welltris". I wouldn't purchase the game for future promises, but just know the team is enjoying putting it together, so the chance of a new game is always a nice gesture for what's already included.

This plays very well! Probably one of the first productivity applications I've bought, but it is a blend of so many great things: lofi, pomodoro, personal avatars, the works.

I'm able to put this on my steam deck & let it hang out on the side while I use my work mac to continue on with work in the day. Probably my favorite thing about it is the sequential pomodoro timer that plays itself. After one session, the break triggers, and then you can continue another session without having to do anything.

The customization is also very well made, avatars can be configured to look a lot like you, and the progression for new spirits also adds some fun gamification to an already graphically beautiful tool.

In the future they also planning on making a macintosh release, which I'm definitely ready for; it would be perfect to have in one package on an already powerful rig. For now the steamdeck & mac combo has been working for me.

Worth a shot, try the demo out to get a good feel for what this thing can do!

If you know what you're paying for, game good

Party animals plays very well overall; I enjoy the physics based stuff a lot. With friends it's even more fun when you're in a discord call and you can hear everyone giggle and having a good time

I'm going to recommend this game despite my surprise from the in-game purchases. The reason I do this is because this model actually made me realize, that the overall audience is a casual one.

When I first heard about the game, it was on a youtube trailer without mention of a PC version. What it did do however was advertise it on xbox. This is important because my theory is that they are targeting folks with Game pass.

The use-case that comes to mind is a casual player finds out about the game and picks it up because they don't have to pay 20$ when gamepass is a thing. Given this, the game itself can make up for smaller costs by using the nemo bucks and battle-pass-like format.

I don't need to go into an entire explanation, but if you catch my drift, I think it's fine so as long as you get it knowing what it has out of the box. The mechanics are generally overall fun with friends, so I'm personally just going to be enjoying the base game. Anything you buy isn't pay to win and is purely aesthetics which can be obtained overtime. Since it's just that, and core gameplay is always available, I'm entirely ok just enjoying it as-is.

Early Access Review
I'm not one to react immediately upon a large chunk of drama. Typically I wait for a storm to reside and see the impact of it afterwards. Friends of mine haven't waited and instead performed the quick action of uninstalling VRChat.

Because of waiting, I've observed the following still remains true when jumping back into the game:

* I can still enjoy making friends
* It is still a nice place to relax and can be either a quiet place or a loud one depending on your prefernce
* while a friend or two left because of the drama, it hasn't kept me from seeing new and existing people
* worlds that I've been enjoying are still around.

VRChat is what you make out of it. While the team over at VRC is facing hard times, I'm hoping for the best for them. The move they made with EAC made it clear they had things they should have done beforehand, but I believe they have the strength to pickup the pieces. Best of luck.

Come check this game out if you like - it's still gonna be around regardless of what happens, if anything there are a lot of unique technical features that most games/VR apps don't have.

Early Access Review
Found this title before early access was available; and since it's times during playtesting it's honestly made me smile like a little kid again.

Keep in mind - Halfbrick intends on mostly doing a open-world / level-based approach here. Classic modes like arcade & zen are not present here, but they are in the first Fruit ninja VR title. [EDIT: classic mode is a thing now!!]

The game is currently in early access as of this writing, and already it has plenty of fun content to poke around with! In addition to bow & sword gameplay, there are many small details the developers have been cooking up, like relaxing landscapes, beautiful ambiance design, and little minigames to discover across the map. Generally, plenty of things to do in order to take breaks from all of the hack-and-slashing!

In the future they also plan on expanding the world more to include online multiplayer, which will be really exciting as there already competetive people on the leaderboards as we speak.

Finally, not necessarily the game itself, but the discord community is also a favorite of mine to hang out in too. Since the playtesting days, the developers have been really nice and been listening to player feedback on things like bug fixes and gameplay suggestions. it's a pleasure to hang out and chat with other folks. I can already tell when multiplayer comes out it will be a very fun experience.

The game is still in early access, trust me though; you don't want to miss out on the exciting things happening right now and soon!

Very challenging title! You learn a lot about how your own mind tackles two things at once. The variation of difficulty is strong as well, right off the bat the game challenges you as soon as the controls are learned. You go from simply mirroring what each hand is doing to having each hand perform independent tasks. There are also many shortcuts to be discovered as well, which help speed up prior strategies.

Overall very solid! Would definitely recommend.
