Fenomena “matel" atau mata elang kerap disebut debt collector masih menjadi keresahan bagi sebagian pengendara di Tangerang.

Berdasarkan informasi, sejumlah titik yg kerap disebut sebagai lokasi aktivitas matel antara lain kawasan Sitanala, Lampu Merah Rajeg, Kotabumi, Kelapa Dua, Bitung, Cadas, Cikupa, Jatiuwung, Jalan Raya Serpong - Alam Sutera - GS- BSD, Legok-Karawaci, Bintaro, Ciputat, Cipondoh.

Seperti yg terjadi di Cikupa, sepasang pengendara motor mengaku dihadang oleh sejumlah orang yg diduga mata elang saat melintas di jalan raya.

Matel merupakan sebutan utk pihak penagih atau debt collector lapangan dari perusahaan pembiayaan.

Matel umumnya bekerja dgn menerima data kendaraan yg menunggak cicilan dari pihak leasing.
