Early Access Review
A very unique setting convinced me to support this project - the game focuses on WW1 naval combat, which is criminally underrepresented in the media in general. Controls are easy to learn, the game seems simple but it already does a great job at simulating the windy, hazy and rough seas of the WW1 naval engagements. Looking forward to future updates!

A hidden gem of a game, with absolutely mind blowing visuals and sound design. I hate car driving video games but this one is so immersive, the atmosphere is so heavy and gritty and dirty, it's a dark game with no happy endings. Go for it, I had tons of fun in casual ~25h long campaign.

Early Access Review
I think most reviewers are being too harsh on this game. It is an Early Access ffs, of course there will be some issues, not to mention that the bar was set really high.

REMEMBER, IT'S NOT HAWKEN - IT'S HAWKEN REBORN. There will be changes. You'll probably hate them, because the OG was different. Get over it.

I played the old Hawken a lot and I can feel the vibe of the Hawkenverse. Familiar names, mechs, dashing and hovering.

I really appreciate that the game runs smooth with no fps drops. A true wonder in modern gaming, innit?

The potential is there but do not bomb this game. Instead, provide feedback. Explain what could make it better.

For me it's the sound. I really miss the clanks, bolts and rough sounds the mechs and weapons made. The current movement is OK, but it's too smooth, the mech drifts too much after dashing. Give us the feeling of weight and more machine sounds - give us the engine hum, the screechy 180 degree turn.

Fingers crossed for the development!

It's the first souls-like game that I enjoy. It is more user friendly and forgiving then other games. The graphics are really nice, the lighting and sound effects build an amazing atmosphere. Recommended.

I played Lock On and Flaming Cliffs in the past and DCS is the spiritual successor to these games. It's not the best simulation game for beginners but an excellent platform for experienced players. I really recommend using a joystick/throttle combo for the best experience. There is a steep learning curve but it's OK if you watch tutorials on YT. The free Su-25T and Mustang modules are enough to se if it's the right game for you. I bought two modules - Black Shark 2 and Su25A, I'm very satisfied with both of them.
+excellent combat sim for military fans
+nice graphics (for a sim)
+nice sound
+amazing 3D models and cockpits

+/- steep learning curve (fine for sim lovers, bad for casual players)

-poor optimisation
-expensive DLCs (I only recommend buying it on discounts)
-basically unplayable without joystick

This isn't an easy game. It's one of the most complicated Total Wars and if you're fresh out of Rome 2 Total War, it will take a while to adjust to Attila. But don't resign too quickly. This game offers a very rewarding experience, witnessing the last decades of the Roman Empire from many different perspectives. You can smell the smoke of razed provinces, you can hear the whistling arrows of the Huns, you can command the remnants of the Roman legions and defend whatever is left from once proud empire.

On the downside, the game doesn't do a very good job explaining the mechanics, the tutorial is difficult. Optimisation issues are still a thing, occasional hiccups on the campaign map and fps drops in sieges somewhat irritating.

I would still recommend this game for the sake of an awesome atmosphere and interesting historical setting.

+Amazing music, very climatic and fits the setting
+Interesting choice of nations
+Art style: far from top tier Shogun 2 Total War, but still distinctive and eye-pleasing (to me at least)
+Siege battles - very different than previous games, walls now curve, cities are now much more fortified with chokepoints and good defensive positions
+Different unit recruitment: takes some time to adjust, but an interesting change

-Small towns have no garrison, so a single general unit can capture and sack villages - irritating
-Needs mods to fix some questionable features (there are no kill animations for some reason)
-Weird "fame system" that gives bonuses, for example one viking nation gets fame when you get money from other factions, while Welsh factions get it from winning battles

Overall it's a decent game, I didn't have a feeling that it's a DLC for Attila. I had fun playing it, just finished the Welsh campaign and I'm looking forward to play West Saexa.

I played almost every Total War game and I must say, Shogun 2 really is a masterpiece. An audio-visual masterpiece, gameplay masterpiece, immersion masterpiece. I absolutely adore it. The art style, the music, the overall presentation is like nothing else in the franchise. If there is one thing that bothers me in this game it's the fact that you have to get some DLC to unlock its full potentioal - namely Sengoku Jidai units pack and Fall of the Samurai. But trust me, you will not regret spending money on this game. I got the base game for free but bought the DLCs and it was worth it.
