I've never played D&D, but this thing is lots of fun.

This game is lots of fun and seriously impressive for an early access game. I see lots of community discussion about mods, but I've enjoyed it immensely and haven't even tried any mods yet. As development continues, this is sure to get even better, but it's already excellent. Anyone who's interested in a base building survival game that's currently alpha-quality (and making great progress with each release) should seriously consider RimWorld.

Engaging and fun. Not a long play time, and I'm not sure how replayable it'll be, but I enjoyed it greatly and really found myself caring about the characters. The soundtrack really helped to set the mood at various points. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys games as a storytelling medium.

I would not call this "free to play". As soon as you get past a pre-set score threshold, it demands money.

This game has a great retro feel, a soundtrack that's really growing on me, and great replayability. I would buy DLC add-ons to this game in a heartbeat. Definitely recommended for anyone who enjoys the space genre and liked Nethack.
