"Become accustomed to the belief that death is nothing to us. For all good and evil consist in sensation, but death is deprivation of sensation... For there is nothing terrible in life for the man who has truly comprehended that there is nothing terrible in not living... So death, the most terrifying of the ills, is nothing to us, since so long as we exist, death is not with us; but when death comes, the we do not exist."
The argument is simple enough to state in a breath; while you're alive, death is not here; once death is here, you are not. the two never meet; so the thing you have feared your whole life, is an appointment you will never attend.
