GOOD:
-Gameplay, classes, weapons, progression, graphics, sound, campaign, old maps.
BAD:
-Melee executions from behind only work if you prayed to the Microtransaction God before booting the game. 8 times out of 10 you will hit them in the back with your knife only for them to turn around and abracadabra your head into modern art.
-They straight up scammed people with the BF Pro thing. Everyone thought it's a one time purchase only to find out it's not when season two rolled out.
-Too many game modes no one asked for. I bought this to play Battlefield not some weird wanna-be R6Siege emulator. Screw everything except TDM, SDM, RUSH, BREAKTHROUGH & CONQUEST. (Escalation gets a pass though)
-Cool skins stuck behind ♥♥♥♥ game modes no one asked for. Yeah some cool brit skins I'd really like are to be unlocked in Battle Royale... screw that and screw you EA. NOT COOL!
-Hit-reg depends on your astrology sign and whether Mercury is in retrograde or not.
-New maps. Some don't really feel right (you wanna flank but you can't because this is CoDlefield) others are straight up dog 5h!7. Example1: Manhattan Bridge is a nice map but it misses the large scale feel of the Battlefield we all know and love. Example2: Blackwell Fields is a map made by some CIA agent in his spare time to see how much a Battlefield player can take before he snaps and joins the US Army in hopes that chronic back pain and tinnitus will make the voices go away. In all seriousness that map was made by someone to "look cool" but has no understanding of game mechanics. TL:DR the second you spawn you get sniped from 3 directions constantly at full range and there's nothing you can do about it.
-Menus are abysmal, the team in charge of those should be fired. No, I am not joking.
-Unable to re-roll bonus challenges. (Each week you unlock a bonus challenge after completing some of the weekly challenges. Unlike the weeklies these bonus challenges cannot be re-rolled.)
-Challenge re-rolls are locked behind a paywall. You give them $ you can re-roll 5 weekly challenges, you don't give them $ you can only re-roll 2 or 3. Why it matters? Because every challenge you don't do means battle pass points you miss out on. I for one despise Battle Royale so I re-rolled every challenge that forced me to play it, thankfully I had the re-rolls to do it.

Conclusion: I do not recommend buying this game unless they make BF Pro a one time thing. Why?Because without it you will not have enough re-rolls to skip the crap they force on you and you will not be able to make constant progress though the battle pass. Everyone likes new kewl skins but don't force yourself to play game modes you despise to get them.

After 20 billion years I got to play this game how it was supposed to, no microtransactions and no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Good:
Decent story.
Movement both on foot and in vehicles (Starships included).
Weapons are fun and even the "default" guns are usable.
Classes.
Enough stuff to grind for a while.
Decent visuals.
Sound effects*
Liked the level design, some maps reminded me of BF1.
Campaign ties in with the lore*

Bad:
Campaign ties in with the obnoxious sequel trilogy (judging when the game came out that's no surprise) but it did kill my enjoyment of an otherwise decent story and campaign.
Sound effects are good, they take you back to the glory days of SW but it lacks the necessary attention to detail. For example on one level in the campaign you encounter some large waterfalls... they have no sound whatsoever.
A bit of girlbossing, again no surprise judging by who owns the franchise and the year this came out. Surprisingly it was mild enough and it did not kill my vibe.
A bit of character uglyfication, a certain daughter looks a bit manly but credit where credit's due... she does at least resemble her father.
DLC is laughingly short and I disliked the story decisions.
Lack of tooltips. Ex: You want to unlock a certain weapon upgrade and the game just tells you that you need to reach a milestone... no idea which milestone figure it out yourself.
In classic EA style some NPCs glitch when they get into cover (it's not gamebreaking).

Bought this for 4 Euros with the DLC and all character skins, worth it.

Graphics:
Good but they do look weird here and there + there's a film grain filter that you can't remove.
Audio:
Very good, nothing particular to write home about but there is great attention to detail and I appreciate that.
Gameplay:
I am not a fan of the "bullet hell" mechanics, especially how they look BUT the gameplay is flawless. Everything flows and it makes you feel like an unstoppable force. It reminded me of the old Doom 1 and 2.
Story:
Overall it was good and it did keep me going but the whole Lovecraft theme felt weird, like it was grafted onto the Doom established lore just for ♥♥♥♥♥ and giggles. Lengthwise it was good, can't say I was wishing for it to end sooner, more like I was wishing it to keep going cause kicking ass was fun.
Level Design:
Really good and immersive, great attention to detail and nice flow to all the maps. Puzzles were nicely placed and did not mess with the flow of the game. Even tho I disliked the whole Lovecraft theme in the Doom setting the levels were really good, especially the puzzles. They gave me slight Necron vibes (WH40K) but that's ok I guess.
Gunplay:
ID & Bethesda nailed this one too... another perfect example of how to make the user feel awesome through the use of well implemented weapons and game mechanics. Some weapons are slightly better than others in the beginning, and some are a bit situational, but when fully upgraded they are all equal in my eyes.
P.S. I regret not using the new weapons (Pulverizer & Ravager) more cause they were awesome when upgraded BUT I was enthralled by the Super Shotgun & Impaler in combination with the last melee weapon you unlock.
Difficulty:
I finished the game on Hurt Me Plenty but the game difficulty is fully customizable in the settings. Yes, you read that right you can tweak all sorts of things from monster damage to parry windows.
Bugs:
I encountered a maximum of 4 bugs.
In one of the later levels I had to destroy a statue and its debris hid the hole in the ground through which I had to go through (wasted 20 seconds).
Sometimes when executing enemies near walls the camera goes into the wall during the animation.
I personally had no crashes even with the latest nVidia driver.
Conclusion:
8.5/10
If you can afford it buy it. If not, wait for the discount.

This stands as a WARNING to anyone who plans to play with friends!

I've been trying for 3+ weeks to join my friends on one of the servers to no avail. The game provides NO WAY to join your friends if the server they are on is full and it provides NO WAY for existing characters to be moved on a less populated server. The fact that they key jangled the August 1st update was the last straw. To develop an ONLINE game with HUNDREDS of servers, a character limit of 10 per account and no migration system in 2024 is mind-boggling.

TL:DR - Force your friends to change server and lose ALL progress or don't play the game.

EDIT: The developers introduced a new invite system allowing players to join full servers based on an invite code. Got a few hours in and I can say that the game still needs some polishing BUT it is really fun and when it gets a grip of you it won't let go. 7.5/10

10/10 Awesome story. Awesome levels. Awesome atmosphere (like in all HL games tbh). Kept me hooked right from the start. I went for the 100% achievement run and I don't regret it. Some tasks can prove challenging as it is, so trying to go for certain achievements can make the situation extra "spicy". I took a trip through every single HL title (including Opposing Force and Blue Shift) and HL2ep2 is 100% worthy to "end" the series. (Not counting HL Alyx since is VR and I have not yet played it)

An absolute gem! 10/10 from me. Just finished a 100% run in under 6 hours (and trust me when I say I took my time). Game is shorter than Half-Life 2 but really entertaining. I highly recommend trying for The One Free Bullet achievement as it provides a whole new experience. Being short-ish makes it the perfect cure for Half-Life nostalgia when you don't have a lot of free time on your hands.

10/10 Game for me. Finished it 100% now and finished it many times years ago with and without cheats. Great story and plot especially if you geeked out for HL1. Some chapters are really fun to replay just to try new tactics or to berserk through with godmone on. Installing HL2: Episode One now. :)

If you don't get triggered by occasional bugs and glitches (some of which are funny AF) this game is awesome. Of course I recommend it, I 100% the damn thing and still itch to get back into it from time to time. Either to try new builds or to slap the bjesus out of some raiders/mutants with a high lvl character.
It has a good story and I recommend replaying it a few times to enjoy every faction's quest line and ending.
