very good

Best soulslike. Combat is a mix between sekiro and bloodborne. Level design is similar to Dark Souls 1.

Good:
- Beautiful environments
- Few OK puzzles

Bad:
- Terrible tedious puzzles, which i refuse to believe got through any form of playtesting.
- Bugs
- No key remapping

The "game" has really good ideas, music, voice actors and some stories, but 3 things make it a bad experience overall.
1. The length (~130 hours) it's 8 chapters and they're all connected.
2. The pacing is non existant. If it was edited down to a ~30 hour VN it could have been really good.
3. Anime / weirdness, a lot of it is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ weird, like i can't even describe it.

I cannot possibly recommend using 130 hours of your time on this, even with friends. The mod is needed to even play this. There are some qualities, but i think a lot of people suffer from stockholm syndrome from playing this for such a long time.

I'll say this, if you really want to give it a shot, play episode 1 which is around 15 hours long (nothing literally happens for 3 hours in the beginning beware, this is unfortunately a common pattern in the story). The first episode is one of the best ones, so if you think it's amazing then maybe go ahead, otherwise stay clear, the end is not worth it.

Is it good? Some parts of it yes, overall no.

The game design is all over the place, it's not very polished, it's over ambitious without doing much of anything very good.

The story is super predictable, and the pacing is awful.

Modern JRPG standards set in games like Persona 5 and Dragon Quest 11, makes this game a 5/10 at best.

I'm not a Yakuza fan, and i think this is only a game for hardcore Yakuza and JRPG fans.

It runs like ♥♥♥♥, it's unplayable on rtx 2080 & amd 5900x. It lags like ♥♥♥♥, multiplayer is a mess. No settings, no smooth turning.

So much potential and pretty well made environments, but the game is just a very bad 2016 VR experiment.
