Welcome
Hello,

My name is Elijah and I've been playing Euro Truck Simulator 2 since 2014 and later American Truck Simulator. I've collectively played SCS's Truck Simulators for more than 1300 hours. Naturally I've gathered a lot of information about the game, modifications for the game and general tips and tricks.

This guide will focus on modifications to enhance your immersion and the realism of the game. Eventually I might branch out and add general tips and tricks, but I have a feeling other guides like this exists already. And while I wont go into too much detail about what each mod do, you definitely can. I don't wanna steal the spotlight of the authors, information and details about each mod will be found on the mod page.

Without further ado, let's take a look into what you can do to enhance your game.

NOTE: All mods I talk about are either on the Steam Workshop or the SCS Forum. Apart from the mods by Grimes which are on his Wordpress site, and for ProMods and Finmark, they can be found on ProMods Official Site.
Audio
Audio is one of the most vital aspect to video games and the movie industry. Audio can enhance scenes or create a wide range of emotions. I've compiled a pretty detailed list of audio mods that will most likely change your perception of audio while trucking.

- Air Brake Sound Mod by Zee
- Interior Noise Sound Mod by Zee
- Rain & Wiper Sound Mod by Zee
- Road & Wind Noise Sound Mod by Zee
- Sound Fixes Pack 2018 by YouDriveSafely
- Train & Crossing Sound Mod by Zee

Visuals
Visuals are also extremely important, so tackle this I use graphics and weather mods from Grimes. Depending on where you live, you might wanna make the game follow what you can see and feel, or pick a random and stick with it.

Grimes Weather and Graphics
- Early Autumn Weather Mod by Grimes [grimesmods.wordpress.com]
- Frosty Winter Weather Mod by Grimes [grimesmods.wordpress.com]
- New Summer by Grimes [grimesmods.wordpress.com]
- Spring Weather Mod by Grimes [grimesmods.wordpress.com]

Other
- Realistic Rain by Darkcaptain™

These images were taken with default photo mode values using only New Summer by Grimes.
Lighting
But what about lights? Well, don't I have the solution for you. Down below are mods to change up street lamps, city lighting and your truck's lights.

- City Lighting by SiSL
- Realistic Vehicle Lights by Frkn64
- Street Lamps - With fog by Leozin

NOTE: You can click on the mod name(s) above to get re-directed there instantly.
Physics
We've solved visuals and audio, what about physics. Well, I personally use the following. Momo also has several versions depending on preference.

- Air Ride Ultimate by MoOMO & YUNA
- Realistic Truck Physics by Frkn64

NOTE: You can click on the mod name(s) above to get re-directed there instantly.
Maps
This is all great, but what about new locations? Okay so you have ProMods, fantastic map mod, an addition to ProMods is Finmark which adds the Finmark region north of Norway. But something you may not know is that the vanilla map and map add-ons don't use real distance. They can't.

- ProMods by ProMods Team [promods.net]
- Finmark by some-thing [www.promods.net]

NOTE: You can click on the mod name(s) above to get re-directed there instantly.

To solve this some brilliant map modders have created their own maps that use real time and distance. Meaning that 1 hour in game sets you back 1 hour IRL. First we have a beautiful but fictional French island Grand Utopia, which has a dozen cities and towns you can explore and of course, a ton of roads, hills, beaches etc to see.

- Grand Utopia by MyGodness [forum.scssoft.com]

Maybe you want something less "tropical". Then there's Pomezania by pawulonn1. A beautiful fictional Polish location that brings many kilometers to drive on. This map also functions the same way with real time and distance. There's many beautiful locations to see, both by the seashore and the mountains.

- Pomezania by pawulonn1 [forum.scssoft.com]

Interior
Okay so we've solved a lot of things so far. But that's only the surface, there's also a lot of mods that enhances your truck with various accessories and additions.

Speed limit sign a bit too small?
- Enlarged speed limit sign by Teppey71 [forum.scssoft.com]
Wanna add a bunch of cool stuff?
- INTERIOR ADDON by Wolli [forum.scssoft.com]
Does things appear too far away from you?
- True Mirror FOV for ETS2 by ★ Edward.
Steering wheel knob?
- SiSL's Mega Pack by SiSL

NOTE: You can click on the mod name(s) above to get re-directed there instantly.

Wanna achieve this in game? Find the option to do so with Wolli's Interion Addon mod.
Exterior
But what about my actual truck? What if I want new tires, or other lights etc? I also got the answer to that.

- Hella + Truck Brands Fog Lights by SASq
- Kelsa Addon Packs by haineons
- Real Tyres Mod by Galimim
- Real Trailer Tyres Mod by Galimim
- Legendary "50k-addons" by 50keda [forum.scssoft.com]
- Light & Accessory by powerkasi [forum.scssoft.com]

NOTE: You can click on the mod name(s) above to get re-directed there instantly.
UI
Can UI changes be immersion? In my world it can, and so here it is. Some simple mods to change up the UI to be more flat and friendly.

- SiSL's FlatUI by SiSL
- SiSL's Route Adviser by SiSL

NOTE: You can click on the mod name(s) above to get re-directed there instantly.
Connection to the real world
Here's a few modifications that has connections to the real world, with that being company logos, advertisements, names etc. All highly recommended of course.

Google Maps Navigation by Sinagrit Baba
- Normal Light
- Light ProMods
- Normal Dark
- Dark ProMods

Other
- Real Advertisements by Sinagrit Baba
- Real cooling unit names for Krone DLC by obelihnio
- Real Fuel Prices by Nener
- Company Addon by Schumi [forum.scssoft.com]
- Real Company Logo by Schumi [forum.scssoft.com]

NOTE: You can click on the mod name(s) above to get re-directed there instantly.
Worthy Mentions
And so we've come to the last section of my mods for immersion and realism. These aren't neccessary at all. But they're nice to have, I mean, the game gets infinitely better the more open it is to freedom.

- Extended Camera Range in Photo Studio by Africa by Toto Fan
- Longer Trains by Eddie Yantz
- Next Generation Scania PGRS Pack by Джо [TS team]
- Real Traffic Density and Ratio by Cipinho

Kauritel Logistics
Many years ago I stumbled upon a YouTuber by the name of Kristo Boginski. At the time he was driving for Kauritel Logistics in Norway. I quickly fell in love with Kauritel's paintjob, and so I set out to make this beautiful paintjob in game. Sadly I hit a road bump when I discovered there wasn't a lot images to recreate from.

And so I decided to email the company directly. Telling them about my grand plan, to my surprise I actually got a response. And even more surprising is that I later on got very detailed images based of my request that I could use as a guide.

You're now looking at the result of that. Although it took me a while to finish it, I'm happy to say it is indeed finally done. I'm proud to say that I pioneered the Kauritel paintjob for Euro Truck Simulator 2. Although, my temporary absent from the game left other talented artists to make their own versions. But I had to come back eventually and finish my work. And so I'm pulling a cheeky self advertising of my work, you can find them down below.

- Kauritel Logistics - Scania S Paintjob (SCS)
- Kauritel Logistics - Cool Liner (Krone)
- Kauritel Logistics - Dry Liner (Krone)
- Kauritel Logistics - Profi Liner (Krone)
- Kauritel Logistics - Scania R Paintjob (SCS)
- Kauritel Logistics - Scania S The Mistake Paintjob (SCS)

Although Kristo drives for a new company. You can still watch his content and support him. You can do so from the links below.

End of the Guide
That's it, that's all I can give right now. I hope you find some of these modifications to your liking. They have helped me tremendously throughout my trucking journey. And if you're one of the mod authors of mentioned modifications. I appreciate your work and wish you all the best.

Happy trucking!

NOTE: If you have any questions about these modifications please feel free to comment down below and I'll be with you ASAP. If it's technical problems, please take that with the author(s).

If you read the next sentence, you'd have your answer to the question.

"Naturally I've gathered a lot of information about the game, modifications for the game and general tips and tricks."

It's easy to influence people to download harmful modifications that may damage ones computer. My detailed guide and the fact that I'm honest about my playtime served as a method of trust. These are what I used and what I recommend based on immersion and realism. There's a lot of new players all the time, and old ones that may want a bit of help. Therefore, guides like this will help them in their search. Instead of spending hours upon hours Googling around, or watching mods videos on YouTube, they can simply find this guide (outdated now, but still apply somewhat) and maybe have a better trucking experience. Have a nice day!

"I've collectively played SCS's Truck Simulators for more than 1300 hours"
In 10 years ?
What does that even mean ? "Proof" you have "expertise" in it ?
I did twice that in 1 year before they both turned into complete garbage and i just stopped

@SR-89 - Also, I really like the new one. It covers the technical side outside of just the game, I wanted to do that, but most mods have a readme section somewhere. So it's easier just guiding people to what works currently, and most of the time.

@SR-89 - I didn't check the current guides for the game at the time, but I did a quick search and found nothing. But as with air, guides aren't exclusively owned, and there can be multiple of the same thing. Have a nice day!

Hi bro, thanks for creating this guide in May, based on mine in April. I made a new guide more detailed and with features for extreme simulation.

@Jeem - For real. I think I got 70+ mods right now, although a lot are 3rd party which gets updated. Others are abandoned mods that I hope wont be affected by future updates. But that's just the way it is really. I've tried not including mods that don't get anymore support. If I had any experience I'd revive abandoned mods, but my skills are textures only. Luckily there's alternatives for the most case.

Great mod list. Used to play with like 50 mods, & half from the list here. Bad news is, constant updates from SCS,and most of mods goes kaput, rendering saves broken, since some mod authors won't update their mods to ETS2 latest version. One of the best mods was the one with visible hands on wheel. Now i try to keep only the most important ones, such as audio/weather ones, and since they're the only ones that gets updated by their authors.

I see, thanks!

@Peanutcat - They should work fine. But as with anything, each user will have a different experience. I however use every single one linked, and they work fine for me with no issues. For the most part, version number doesn't matter too much unless it's truck or map related.

A few of the mods say they're for older version of ETS2. Do all the mods in the collection still work with the latest update?
