Full Review

Intro
Rated based on a couch co-op playthrough with a big group of friends. That's exactly how I’ve played every single game from this studio.

🎮 Gameplay – 7/10
It's an interactive movie packed with actual gameplay — stealth, puzzles, reading logs, and mini-games. It's a nice evolution in terms of being a "game," but I wish there were more choices; I want to feel like almost every line of dialogue is influenced by me. The new gameplay mechanics don't always help the pacing. In co-op, for example, the stealth felt like a drag—it plays much better solo. The new "Undo failed choices" feature isn't for me either; it totally kills the thrill. Plus, the balance between hardcore and casual is practically non-existent: it's either way too easy or brutally hard (out of all my friends, I was the only one who survived).

📖 Story – 7/10
An interesting mix of Alien and The Thing, complete with a solid twist and a Resident Evil-style monster. There are some tough choices that spark great debates with friends. What drags the script down, though, are the bland characters—they’re all distinct, but completely forgettable.

🛋️ Immersion – 6/10
Decent immersion into a bleak storyline—I especially loved the first-person segments. The issue, as always, is the manipulative presentation. It’s hard to stay fully immersed when a choice says one thing, but the character ends up doing something completely different. For a game all about choices, it doesn’t always make those choices clear.

👀 Visuals – 8/10
A fantastic transition to Unreal Engine 5. The graphics are stunning (the shadows, lighting, etc. look amazing), the deaths are brutal, and the transition screens between chapters are minimalist but really clean.

🔊 Sound – 7/10
The soundtrack is alright (gloomy, industrial dark ambient), but you barely notice it while playing—though it works great as background music on YouTube. The depressing mood is also carried well by awesome licensed tracks between chapters and during key moments. It really puts you in the characters' shoes, sitting there thinking, "What on earth happens next?"

Summary
A great cinematic experience with a twist (Alien + The Thing + Resident Evil). There's so much gameplay now that it actually hurts the immersion in co-op, which is the mode I use for all of this studio's games.

It’s feeling more and more like a survival horror, but I’d rather see the franchise lean into narrative freedom instead of gameplay mechanics—sometimes the game tells you one thing, but does another.
