Gauntlet Prep Improvements

• There's now a guaranteed random demi-boss spawn at the north/east/south/west-most rooms from the centre. Meaning four demi-bosses with fixed locations, but the specific demi-bosses that you encounter will still be random.
• Demi-bosses have had their attack range reduced from 16 to 10.
• Non-demi-boss enemies now have standardised defensive stats, meaning it's never better to kill a wolf over a scorpion, for example.
• Weapon frames are guaranteed from your first 'low tier' NPC kill.
• Phren Bark, Crystal Ore and Linum Tirinum are now stackable.
• Crystal Shards are now automatically placed in your inventory. Additionally, the quantity dropped by enemies has a smaller range, so will feel much more consistent.
• Crystal Shard costs for crafting various pieces of equipment have been adjusted:
• Creating a Tier 1 weapon requires no Crystal Shards, down from 20. You'll still need a weapon frame.
• Creating a Tier 2 weapon requires 50 Crystal Shards, down from 60.
• Creating a piece of Tier 1 armour requires 50 Crystal Shards, up from 40.
• Creating a piece of Tier 2 Body armour requires 100 Crystal Shards, up from 80. Creating a piece of Tier 2 Leg or Helmet armour requires 50 Crystal shards, down from 80.
• Creating a piece of Tier 3 armour requires 100 Crystal Shards, up from 80. The reason for this increase is that we don't want Tier 3 to become a guarantee/must-have for every run and should still be trading comfort for time-loss, encouraging people to push themselves down to Tier 1 prep for the fastest clears.
• Gauntlet Speed-chaser now requires a completion in under 4:45, down from 5:00.
• Gauntlet Speed-runner now requires a completion in under 3:45, down from 4:00.
• Corrupted Gauntlet Speed-chaser now requires a completion in under 7:05, down from 7:30.
• Corrupted Gauntlet Speed-runner now requires a completion in under 6:05, down from 6:30.

Other PvM or PvM-adjacent Changes

• Phantom Muspah tweaks:
• Will no longer swap forms until you've dealt damage at least 4 times.
• Homing Spikes special attack duration reduced to 34 ticks, down from 50 ticks. Additionally, the attack ends early if Muspah is phased into its 'blue shield' form.
• Demonic Gorillas will no longer swap prayers until you've dealt damage at least 4 times, and dealt at least 70 damage with a style.
• Skotizo tweaks:
• Once a totem has been destroyed, it won't respawn for another minute.
• The arena has been reduced in size, you'll have to get your steps in elsewhere.
• Ice Demon's demonbane vulnerability has been increased to 115%, up from 100%.
• Wardens in the Tombs of Amascut are no longer immune to the life leeching effects of the Sanguinesti Staff or Amulet of Blood Fury. You might notice some weirdness during P2 because damage calculations here are non-standard, but these should be working as intended.
• Autocast settings are now preserved through death.
• Looting a gravestone should now automatically sort your inventory to match its layout prior to your untimely death.

Gear Changes

• Sanguinesti Staff Tweaks
• Chance to heal increased to 1 in 5 (up from 1 in 6), deals 8 additional damage whenever the heal procs - this averages out to +1.6 damage per hit.
• Base max hit increased by +1.
• Charge cost reduced to 2 Blood runes per cast, down from 3. You should be refunded one Blood rune per charge upon logging in after the update. If your inventory is full then they'll go to your bank. If your bank is also full (or you're a UIM with a full inventory) then they'll drop on the ground.
• Soulreaper Axe Changes
• Gains +4 Strength bonus.
• Stack limit remains at 5, with 6% damage bonus gained per stack.
• Stacks take 50 ticks to start decrementing, up from 20 ticks.
• Stacks no longer drain HP.
• Special attack now gains 12% accuracy per stack, up from 6% (60% at max stacks)
• Special attack now gains 6% minimum hit per stack (30% at max stacks)
• Updated the special attack animation of Soulreaper Axe and  Soulreaper Axe (o).
• Ghrazi Rapier Stab accuracy increased by +6, Strength bonus increased by +4.
• Blade of Saeldor Slash accuracy increased by +6, Strength bonus increased by +4.
• Pegasian Boots gain +1 Ranged Strength bonus.
• Master Wand gains +10% Magic Damage bonus.
• Ancient Sceptres (all variants) have their Magic Damage bonus increased to +10%, up from +5%.
• Aquanite Hopper to have its second hit accuracy penalty halved. There's not much room to buff this loads without it powercreeping on the Twisted Buckler, but a small buff should make it at least a little more worthwhile.
• Belle's Folly drop rate increased to 1 in 75, up from 1 in 256.
• Venator Bow to be made more consistent thanks to new engine capabilities. It's hard to quantify this, but in effect it should mean that the bow finds new targets more reliably.
• Inquisitor changes (it wouldn't be a Summer Sweep-Up without Inquisitor changes)
• Inquisitor's Great Helm gains +2 Crush accuracy and +2 Strength bonus, to match its Oathplate equivalent.
• Additionally, provides a +0.5% bonus to Crush damage and Crush accuracy. This boost is no longer increased by a set effect or when using the Inquisitor's Mace specifically.
• Inquisitor's Hauberk gains +4 Crush accuracy, to match its Oathplate equivalent.
• Additionally, provides a +1% bonus to Crush damage and Crush accuracy, up from +0.5%. This boost is no longer increased by a set effect or when using the Inquisitor's Mace specifically.
• Inquisitor's Plateskirt gains no Crush accuracy or Strength, since it already matches its Oathplate equivalent.
• Additionally, provides a +1% bonus to Crush damage and Crush accuracy, up from +0.5%. This boost is no longer increased by a set effect or when using the Inquisitor's Mace specifically.
• Inquisitor's Mace gains +7 Strength bonus and +7 Crush accuracy. This guarantees a max hit in all setups, and might add +2 max hits in some setups.
• Additionally, any negative Stab/Slash bonuses have been removed from Inquisitor armour pieces.
• Shaman Mask Magic bonus increased to +2 from -6.
• Tonalztics of Ralos improvements:
• Special attack buffed to reduce opponent's Defence by 12.5% of its Magic level per hit, up from 10%.
• Special attack buffed to grant +50% increased accuracy.
• Rosewood Blowpipe changes:
• Can now fire darts up to rune.
• Special attack no longer grants +10% increased damage and -20% decreased accuracy.
• Burning Claws Special Attack Energy cost increased to 35% from 30%.
• PvP Only: The Eclipse Atlatl now fires every 4 ticks while set to Rapid, unless the full Eclipse set is worn to reduce the attack rate back to 3 ticks.
• PvP Only: The Soulflame Horn's Accuracy boost for Special Attacks has been reduced to +50%, down from +100%.

Now that you've had the chance to get familiar with the Maggot King, it's time to take on some Combat Achievements! Check out its dedicated section to see the tasks.

• Engorged bloodwood trees now occasionally require an extra interaction when collecting Bloodsap. This is only to help prevent fully hands-off gathering while still keeping the method low-intensity and Semi-AFK. Essentially, you'll sometimes see a Letvek crawling into your bucket which will require clicking on the bucket to release it. When this happens, it will be at the same time you’d already be checking the tree or collecting Bloodsap, so the activity should still feel pretty similar.
• Fixed a bug where Maggot Kings' white tendrils signaling the transition could disappear if it took damage during its scream attack.
• The Dragon Axe (or) is now correctly recognised as a dragon axe by Bloodwood trees.
• We're also sharing the pet drop chances from Bloodwood tree woodcutting and Leechfin fishing that you asked about last week. Check out its dedicated section for more info.

• The 'Twisted Vision' and 'Oath Breaker' cosmetics now cost 200 Slayer points instead of 1000 Slayer points in the Slayer Rewards Shop. Players who have already unlocked these by paying the former price will be refunded the 800 points difference upon login.
• You can now display Demonic Pacts Outfit on outfit stands in your Player-Owned House. Also, the Relic Unlock and Demonic Mark emotes are now present withing the Emotes interface.
• When trying to delete rooms in the PoH which have cosmetic attachments to their furniture, you will now be warned and told to remove them before deleting the room.
• You can now see the Leagues VI: Demonic Pacts HiScores displaying the Top 100 players via the League accomplishments scroll in your Player-Owned House.
• Adjusted the Impish Whistle's size to look a bit smaller on the ground and updated its Inventory icon.
• The Cosmetic Override Interface will now correctly display your enabled overrides, including showing the Default box as selected when no overrides are active.

• Ironwood hull parts can now be made at level 75 Construction, rather than 77, to match the level for installing them in a boat.
• Some spelling has been corrected on Zogre area scenery.

The first batch of this year's Summer Sweep Up is here, focused on improvements to a wide range of gear, NPCs and PvM encounters. We know you'll be eager to jump in and start swinging so we'll keep things concise for our post today, but if you'd like a look over all things Sweep Up including detailed rationale and reasoning then make sure to check out the dedicated blog that we released in June[secure.runescape.com].

If you're waiting on something that you don't see in today's Game Update, there will be a small gap between the first batch and the others, with the second batch focusing on Agility, and the third batch focusing on Hunter & the more scattershot/miscellaneous changes like Chivalry drain rate, bonfire UX, or Aerial Fishing improvements alongside the new items like Elemental amulets and the Necklace of fangs.

Let's dive straight into the detail!


While these were the changes you seemed most excited for, nothing can prepare you (sorry) for how good the Gauntlet and Corrupted Gauntlet are about to feel. We've got a suite of changes that smooth out the prep phase so that you can chill out and blast your way back towards insisting that those tornadoes were miles away.

• There's now a guaranteed random demi-boss spawn at the north/east/south/west-most rooms from the centre. Meaning four demi-bosses with fixed locations, but the specific demi-bosses that you encounter will still be random.
• Demi-bosses have had their attack range reduced from 16 to 10.

• For some comparisons:
• A full set of Tier 1 armour and two Tier 3 weapons requires 250 Crystal Shards, down from the 280 that it currently does.
• A full set of Tier 2 armour and two Tier 3 weapons requires 450 Crystal Shards, down from the 460 that it currently does.
• A full set of Tier 3 armour and two Tier 3 weapons requires 750 Crystal Shards, up from the 700 that it currently does. The additional demi-bosses dotted around and auto-pickups for Crystal Shards should make it much easier to rack these up though!

All of these add up to make prep far more consistent and reduce the mental load considerably, allowing for a much smoother stint in the infamous red prison. Having said that, we noticed in testing that these changes did reduce our completion times fairly consistently, so we've made some changes to the Gauntlet and Corrupted Gauntlet Combat Achievements to stop them from becoming freebies, particularly since they're generally considered some of the harder speed times to tick off:

• Gauntlet Speed-chaser now requires a completion in under 4:45, down from 5:00.
• Gauntlet Speed-runner now requires a completion in under 3:45, down from 4:00.
• Corrupted Gauntlet Speed-chaser now requires a completion in under 7:05, down from 7:30.
• Corrupted Gauntlet Speed-runner now requires a completion in under 6:05, down from 6:30.

Certainly there will be some of you reading who wouldn't return to the Gauntlet even if you were paid to be there, fortunately we've got some extra changes in the mix!

While we're talking Sweep-Up, we'd like to chat a little more about the Chambers of Xeric.


We'll put this first bit in bold so that nobody panics: this section does not detail changes made with today's game update. This section is us proposing a future change to see how it lands.

As we wrapped up our initial Sweep-Up blogs, we'd said that we'd like to take a conservative approach here and adjust incrementally over time. It would be an understatement to say that this wasn't a particularly popular stance to take, so instead we'd like to propose something a little more radical for adjustments to the weightings of uniques in the Chambers of Xeric. We'll be the first to admit that the numbers we're about to include look a little scary and that we're a touch nervous, but think that they do make CoX a little more in-line with other raids when it comes to how many hours the content expects you to put in. The most significant shift here is Ancestral pieces, which do fetch a hefty price currently, but also serve as a huge source of frustration since ticking off the full set takes considerably longer on average than a Twisted Bow.

Realistically these numbers are a big enough shift that it's impossible to predict exactly where things might shake out if we implement them, but we do expect that while individual item prices might shift, the GP/hr of the raid shouldn't drastically reduce. The proposed numbers aim to bring regular Chambers completions more in line with other raids while also improving the value proposition offered by Challenge Mode clears compared to regular raids.

With all that said, let's take a look:

In effect, this means scrolls are 40% less common in regular Chambers of Xeric, and 52% less common in Challenge Mode Chambers of Xeric, which puts it closer to how the Avernic defender hilt in terms of its relative weighting. Let us know what you make of these, we'll be keeping an extremely close eye on these conversations!

Now that you've had the chance to get familiar with the Maggot King, it's time to take on some Combat Achievements!

You might notice that we've opted not to add any Grandmaster Combat Achievements to the Maggot King. This isn't a mistake or an oversight, it's something we spent a lot of time thinking about but ultimately couldn't land on anything that we felt meaningfully added additional challenge without feeling contrived. Grandmaster CAs are at their best when they change how you'd approach a piece of content or demand high levels of skill expression for fast clears and precision. While we think there's a lot that goes in to tidying up your Maggot King kills, we don't feel that there's a 'slam dunk' Grandmaster task here that would be satisfying to complete.

Many of you will still be tested with high-tier difficulty tasks, so let's see if you can rise to the occasion and earn those bragging rights!

Vampyrium skilling activities already offer a lot of benefits, and having a good balance in the benefits provided is crucial to the design. Also, thematically, Vampyrium is an alien planet - there shouldn't be any Beavers and Herons in it originally, but few may just have made their way into Vampyrium through the portal!

With that said, let's dive into it:

• Bloodwood trees offer a 1/969,283 chance of pet drop on each "Chop" swing.
• Engorged tree (AFK method) offers a 1/319,283 chance of pet drop on a successful cut.
• Leechfin fishing offers a small chance of dropping the Heron pet upon successful fishing.

We suspect that some of you might be wondering what's happening with The Fractured Archives reward proposal since our last blog, so wanted to share a quick progress update.

The good news is that we think the foundation is pretty solid and would like to get you all in the voting booths as soon as possible so that we know which rewards we can start work on and which might need a little more TLC.

Additionally, we're pivoting the Gatekeeper's Cane to be a two-handed, Guthixian-themed magical tome that will see you rifling through pages and peppering foes with rapid-fire spells from these ancient pages - so keep an eye out to see how that might look and for some updated stats to support the swap to a two-handed weapon.

Inspired by the classic game of hide-and-seek, Meccha Chameleon is a new indie game where people join lobbies with friends or strangers to hunt eachother or hide and paint themselves to blend in with their surroundings.

Taking inspiration from the creativity of the game's workshop maps, we teamed up with creators 8sat and SoupRS to bring a custom, free-to-play Lumbridge map to the Steam workshop. Now, you can disguise yourself among the familiar sights of Gielinor and put your hiding skills to the test!

This weekend sees the finale of the Crusader Classic: PvP All-Stars 2026!

Over 4 intense qualifiers, 20 creators have whittled down to twelve to earn their place at the live LAN finale: DubieDobies, Lagunarium, Lake, MikaRS, Muts, Odablock, Peta, Rhys, Solo Mission, Synq, Torvesta & Vanc.

Maggot King Tweaks

• The drop rates for the Maggot King and Venators are revealed. Check out its dedicated section in the blog for details.
• Reduced Maggot King death fees for your next five deaths. This applies to all players, regardless of how many kills they've already completed.
• Inventory overflow drops at the Maggot King and Araxxor will now remain on the ground for 3 hours before despawning.
• Fixed an issue where Maggot King loot could occasionally appear far above its intended location when your inventory was full.
• Fixed an issue where Brimstone Keys looted from the Maggot King could drop in inaccessible areas of the boss's lair. They now drop within the player arena, where they can be picked up normally.
• Fixed an issue where Ur-Maggots could occasionally survive Venator Bow bounce attacks.
• Added a Maggot King option to the Rune Pouch loadouts.
• Raised the High Alchemy value of tarnished items from their previous 500 GP value. Tarnished weapons now alch for slightly less than their Rune weapon equivalents, while tarnished jewellery now alchs for the same value as their Diamond equivalents.

• Fixed an issue where Blisterwood stakes were gaining far more accuracy than intended against Venators.

Quest Tweaks

• Added a custom map to Sangvesti to help players navigate the area and track locked doors.
• Fixed an issue where the inscriptions on correctly filled basins during the Castle Drakan chapel puzzle could display the wrong description.

Vampyrium & Skilling Tweaks

• Added a new low-intensity Bloodwood tree, offering a more AFK Woodcutting experience with longer uninterrupted chopping sessions in exchange for reduced Woodcutting XP and Bloodwood sap.
• Reduced Crystal shard consumption when using the Crystal axe at Bloodwood trees to 10%, significantly reducing operating costs.
• Fixed an issue where claiming a full bucket of Bloodwood sap with a full inventory could cause the bucket and its contents to be lost.
• Sap buckets placed by Bloodwood trees now remain between logins.
• The Horn of Plenty's double-loot effect now works correctly when hunting Stymphikes.
• Some grammar has been corrected in the text for making a Necklace of Rupture.

Weapon Tweaks

• You can now use Seeking Headless Arrows on existing arrows to convert them directly into Seeker Arrows.
• Reduced the Sunspear's protected value on death to 100,000 coins.

• We've added the Import/Export function, meaning you can copy your tags across other Official Client devices.
• Fixed a bug showing duplicate items when searching for a Tag icon.
• Fixed inaccuracies in some message boxes.

Earlier this year, we made a number of quality of life improvements to Deep Sea Trawling based on your feedback. Since then, players have discovered a new way to engage in Deep Sea Trawling by remaining on another player's boat, allowing them to stay largely AFK for up to 30 minutes at a time. As a result, the amount of Marlin entering the game has been significantly increased, causing a noticeable impact on the economy. To help address this, we're making a couple of changes to Deep Sea Trawling:

• Players who don't interact with the client for 5 minutes while using the Trawling Net facility will now automatically disengage from it.
• Baiting a shoal is now tracked on a per-player basis, instead of for the entire boat. Captains can still ask their NPC crew to bait shoals on their behalf.

We hope these changes strike a better balance between supporting emergent gameplay and help maintain a healthier in-game economy for Marlin moving forwards.

An additional Sailing change:

• When a sea monster is killed while you're locked into the cannon, you will no longer automatically resume firing when it respawns, preventing cannonballs from being wasted.

• In Bounty Hunter worlds, we've moved the dispenser fee to the entrance gate of the Wilderness Agility Course to ensure players trying to engage with the course are not constantly attacked by players with little to no risk.
• Fixed a bug where the Auto-Charge from Bank feature allowed the Revenant weapons to be loaded with up to 17,000 ether when they were already in their charged state. The maximum capacity option should now respect the maximum charges you can add at 16,000.

We've continued reviewing feedback and data around the Maggot King's drop table following last week's changes.

Our goal with the Maggot King is for its unique rewards to remain the main draw, rather than pushing too much of the boss's value into regular drops. This is closer to the approach taken with bosses like those from DT2, where regular loot provides value between uniques, but the chase items make up most of the longer-term profit.

Since last week's changes, we feel the regular loot is in a healthier place than it was at launch, but we know some drops still don't feel as good to receive as they should. While kistens and Ruptures are still settling in price, we want to take a cautious approach before making any major changes to the base loot table.

That said, we agree there are still some areas in need of a little polish. In this week's update, Venator teeth and fangs will become tradeable; We've raised the High alchemy value of tarnished items from their previous 500 GP value - tarnished weapons now alch for slightly less than their Rune weapon equivalents, while tarnished jewellery will now alch for the same value as their Diamond equivalents; and polishing Tarnished items will now be instant, limited to one item per game tick.

These changes should make some of the more common rewards feel smoother to transform into GP and provide more consistent value between unique drops, but we'll continue monitoring both player feedback and drop table data after these changes and make further adjustments if needed.

We've also made changes to the following:

• Reduced Maggot King death fees for your next five deaths. This applies to all players, regardless of how many kills they've already completed.

After a few weeks of settling in to the new Bank Tag feature for mobile and the Official Client, we've put together a small update to add an import/export feature, plus to squish a couple of pesky bugs.


Want to transition from phone to tablet to Official Client on PC and have your same tag set up? Of course you do, that makes total sense to us!

To help with this, we've implemented the import/export function to Bank Tags. This means you can generate a string of text that represents your tag, and simply paste that into the import function on any other device.

You can do all this with just a few steps:

• Open the minimenu on your selected tag.
• Select export
• This will generate a string of numbers that represents your Tag items and layout.
• Copy this string.
• Use the Import option via the bank tag minimenu on any other device or desktop Official Client, and paste your string in.
• This will generate the same tag.
• Keep in mind that any changes you make to one version of the tag won't automatically transfer over to other devices even after doing import/export. You'll need to do the process again.

You can even share codes with others if you like! Why not prep your clan mate with a pre-made bank tag ready for your next raid?

We recommend exporting the layout code and saving it somewhere safe when you've got your tags set up that you're happy with, just in case!


We tidied up a couple of bugs:

• You'll no longer see duplicate items when searching for a Tag icon.
• Fixed inaccuracies in some message boxes.

We've seen a lot of questions around Potion Storage since releasing Bank Tags. At the moment we are not planning to integrate potion storage into the bank tags system, allowing us to focus resources on implementing more wide-reaching changes and improvements.

Earlier this year, we made a number of quality of life improvements to Deep Sea Trawling based on your feedback. Since then, players have discovered a new way to engage in Deep Sea Trawling by remaining on another player's boat, allowing them to stay largely AFK for up to 30 minutes at a time.

Each month, we share key stats from our Player Support and Anti-Cheating teams so you can see exactly what’s been happening behind the curtain. From how quickly we’re responding to your queries, to the number of bots and rule breakers taken down, here’s the latest data for June 2026:

**“Year to Date” refers to the period from January 1st, 2026 through to the end of the month covered by the stats - in this case, the end of April 2026.

Our teams remain as dedicated as ever to tackling cheaters, scammers, and spammers to ensure a fair playing field for all. As a result of these ongoing efforts, we're seeing an overall decline in rule-breaking activity. We're also seeing that the average account age and average account level of bots are decreasing, indicating that longer-standing and higher-level bots are being detected and removed from the game. Thanks for all the reports and support you send our way - it really does make a difference!

Additionally, we’ve had a few reports of some players being phished out of their accounts. As always, bad actors are always cooking up new tricks. We've heard of a new few ones including fake P-Mod application forms asking for login details and illegitimate Jagex Launcher downloads hosted on other websites. This is a quick reminder to stay safe out there and think twice before entering sensitive details or downloading anything advertised as relative to RuneScape. There are no P-Mod Application forms, and anything you download for RuneScape must be a subdomain of http://jagex.com/ or http://runescape.com/ to be considered safe. Always download anything directly through our website or Launcher – nowhere else.

Some rules we always recommend:

• Don't click suspicious links or download unknown files.
• Jagex will never ask for your password or verification codes via email or messages. Never give away credentials that could be used to access your account.
• Use your browser's phishing filters.

4. No entering Olm early - Please do not enter Olm until everyone has potted and your Friends Chat leader has gone in, else you may be kicked from the raid.
5. Choose kindness - these raids are just for the community chaos and fun of a mass, please don't expect to see many points or purples!
