I'm going to elucidate on this later, but it is a damn tragedy this game only has a handful of reviews. This is an excellent, creative, technically sound, well-written, substantial immersive sim. Achieving something like this takes a tremendous amount of effort on the part of the developers and they deserve major kudos for doing such a bang-up job with the diegetic exposition, interconnected environments, and player systems.

I was skeptical going in - the beginning feels bad, largely because of the baffling borderline non-existent sprint - but it isn't super difficult if you're familiar with these types of games and the plodding movement is appropriate for the environment. My only real criticism is about inventory space. I need to carry a flashlight, retro-fixer thing, rescue axe and inducer just to interact with necessary environmental obstacles. That just doesn't leave enough room for other stuff, especially things like traps. Between the shotgun, bow, arrows, pistol, molotovs and whatnot I'm already feeling the pinch big time and I'm just in the second area. I really, really think those basic tools should not take up inventory space.

Anathasia devs: no new Dino Crisis? 'Fine, we'll do it ourselves.' Pro tip: anyone enjoying this needs to check out the demo for Derelikt.

Quality slop, people only like it because it's good
