Hey everyone, it's been a while!

We are FromDawn Games🔆

Welcome back to the Aeruta Dev Log!

How has everyone been?
Since our v1.2 update in February, and the surprise announcements of our "RO Collab" and "Console Version" in May and July, it feels like forever since we last connected through a dev log!

We've been working non-stop on the v1.3 update, the DLC, and the console port. Before we knew it, September was already here! 🤯💥

You're probably curious about what we've been up to during this time, so let's rewind a bit to the spring...

◾ Spring Awakens, and so does v1.3!

After fully recharging during the Lunar New Year holidays, we officially kicked off the development of v1.3!

This update will feature a festive Carnival event with Patti, a steamy Hot Spring area, and some brand-new story segments. And of course, as Chaya's abilities grow, you'll be able to platform and jump much more smoothly across all areas!

We hope v1.3 brings even more slice-of-life joy to Chaya's adventure and gives you more reasons to explore and challenge yourselves after clearing the main story 💪🦊

◾ Precious Memories at BitSummit Kyoto 🌸

Right in the middle of v1.3 development, we took a rare break from our familiar studio, hopped on a plane, and headed to BitSummit in Kyoto! Even though Aeruta has been exhibited all over the world, this was the first time we, the developers, traveled overseas to stand right next to our own game.

At the BitSummit venue, thanks to the amazing support from our publisher, we had the chance to meet Aeruta players face-to-face. We talked about your experiences, your expectations for the game, and just chatted about the games we all love. It’s so different from talking online—being able to chat in person really let us convey our genuine thoughts and passion. It held a very special meaning for us 🦊✨

During the trip, we also brought our Chaya, Effie, and Teddy Bread plushies along to visit various spots and, of course, eat a LOT of bread! We boarded our flight back home filled with wonderful memories, constantly brainstorming our future development plans and directions. Even with the language barrier, we could deeply feel everyone's love for Aeruta and gaming. It was such a precious and healing time for us 💖🧡

(The croissants at Shinshindo were absolutely delicious... Also, please try "Boulangerie MASH Kyoto" if you ever visit. We still dream about those flavors to this day...)

◾ The Highly Anticipated Ragnarok Online Collab DLC

Actually, even during the development of the base game, we used to joke about doing an RO collab. Porings becoming friends with Patti, Chaya haphazardly putting up bakery posters in Prontera... We had tons of fun ideas, but when the plan actually became a reality, our headaches multiplied!

We wanted to truly honor the nostalgia and content that RO has refined over the years. What started as a simple collab idea eventually snowballed into a full-fledged DLC offering a very special experience. "How do we recreate that original magic in a 2D side-scrolling world?" became our core development philosophy.

The DLC is still deep in development, with many features undergoing tweaking and testing, so we can't reveal everything just yet. But we're sure our friends from Midgard will bring quite the shock to Chaya... Please look forward to it! ✨

◾ A Summer Typhoon: The Console Port Project 🌀

Let's just say the console porting process has been... anything but smooth 😵‍💫
The hurdles of cross-platform development kept piling up, and unexpected chaos swept through our schedule like a relentless summer typhoon, ruining quite a few of our nights.

But every storm eventually passes. Like tough weeds surviving a storm, we are still standing tall 🌿👍 Thanks to the help of many amazing people—and by sacrificing our programmers' hairlines—we finally managed to overcome all the odds!

We even took this opportunity to optimize the overall smoothness and performance of the game! Please look forward to the console release on Thursday, December 9th!

Space is limited, and there are still so many stories we didn't get to share~ 🍞
Like hosting a Steam Sale as one of the core organizers of the East Asia indie game fest, the behind-the-scenes secrets of preparing the physical editions, or how a chance encounter with an RO specialist led to some super support...

Looking back, juggling three massive tasks at once (v1.3, the DLC, and the console port)—what kind of King Patti-level reckless courage did we have?! But hey, maybe this is just what chasing your dreams looks like? Full of pain, but also full of joy 💖 (Just kidding, we are NEVER doing this again lol)

Anyway, autumn is just starting to roll in, but our schedule for the rest of the year is pretty much locked in. We'll definitely have more news to share with you all this winter 🦊✨

In October's dev log, we plan to pull back the curtain on v1.3 even more, and we'll also be sharing our concrete roadmap for the v1.3 update and the RO Collab DLC!

Let's spend the rest of 2026 with Chaya. See you next month!
