We’ve just pushed a new demo update for Blades of Mirage! Thank you again to everyone who played and shared feedback. Your input helps us make the experience sharper and more immersive.

Based on your suggestions, here are minor improvements included in this build:

Sword sound effect update: More attempt to add more impact on sword swing effect.
Blink visual when taking damage: Clearer visual cue when Mira gets hit.
Weapon water trail effect: Added a fluid trail to enhance weapon swings.
Xbox icon guide fix: Tutorial now correctly shows keyboard prompts when using keyboard.
Tab navigation fix: Left and right tab navigation now works properly.

These changes aim to make combat more responsive and the overall demo experience smoother.

playtest impression July 7, 2026

Hi just some brief impression during the playtest from my time with the game! I tried on Steamdeck out of curiosity. Played mostly great! little tricky in the settings, seems I could adjust the visual settings from the Main menu but not in game since I couldn't successfully get to 'Apply'. Would be nice to customize controls since for me I always dash with LB, it was difficult to get used to using RT for me, that's always usually my attack button. Visuals - gorgeous! The Blades of Mirage Demo is now live!

Play as Mira and explore the game with two distinct difficulty modes that best suit your playstyle:

Casual: Start with powerful runes that grant extra health and flexible combat mechanics, including cancelling attack animations with the dodge button.

Challenging: Focus on tactical, souls-like challenge. Features strict attack commitments and uncompromising combat timing.

Incorporating feedback from our recent playtest, this demo features quality-of-life updates and balance tweaks, including:

Multiple playthrough slots

Enhanced audio & SFX

Weapons and runes tutorial

Combat rebalancing: Reworked burn debuff mechanics and adjusted passive rune values

Bug fixes (missing BGM, enemy HP values, hitbox accuracy)

Revamped UI, menus, and maps

Experience an action-adventure game infused with precision, souls-like combat in a Southeast Asia-inspired world!

We are thrilled to invite you to our Steam Playtest from 6th July 2026 to 20th July 2026. This is your chance to get an early look at Mira’s world and help us shape the future of Blades of Mirage.

What to expect in this playtest:

☑️ Choose Your Weapon
Experiment with three distinct weapons: Sword, Hammer, and Bow.

☑️ Rune Customization
Mix and match your runes and turn Mira into a destructive force of nature or a resilient warrior capable of withstanding the toughest hits.

☑️ Test Your Skill
Face challenging enemies and check your performance with the End-of-Playtest Timer. Can you claim the fastest time?

How to Join?

For those who haven’t requested access yet:

Head over to our Steam Store Page.
Find the Join the Blades of Mirage Playtest box and click Join the Playtest.
Wait a moment, then hit Play Now.
Install the game, and Blades of Mirage Playtest will appear in your Steam library ready to play.

For those who already requested access:

Check your Steam library or your email notification to download the build.
Once installed, launch directly from Steam and start playing.

We can’t wait to see your wildest combat clips, rune layouts, and your fastest clear times!

She seems to be showing a bit more skin in an earlier trailer from 7 months ago or so, is that just an alternate costume, or is it what I fear? If it's the latter, then there goes my interest.

Steam Cloud Saves?

Will we get Steam cloud saves so we can keep our progress when we switch devices or perhaps later play it on the Steam Deck? It'd be quite annoying if we had to restart everything again like we do in some other games.
