What does a dark Slavic fairy tale sound like? For us, it's not just about visual style, combat systems, or characters. It's also about the music that evolves with the heroine and immerses you in a world of dark fantasy.

Recently, we recorded a live orchestral performance of the game's main theme. Let us tell you how it happened.

The main musical theme of Tsarevna reflects her journey. At the start of the story, it is bright and carries a sense of wonder, almost childlike. But as the heroine faces trials, loses loved ones, and pushes toward her goal, the music grows darker and more intense.

Composer Alexander Billion worked to ensure that a single melody could reveal just how far Tsarevna has come. It was a challenge: keep the theme recognizable while allowing it to evolve alongside the story.

The recording was done with the Opensound Orchestra, conducted by Stanislav Malyshev. A live performance sounds different: it fills the music with warmth, depth, and emotional richness. It allows you to hear the composition as it was intended.

The orchestral score blends folk motifs with choral singing and classical symphonic elements. We added unusual acoustic timbres and gave them a contemporary treatment. We use the same approach in the game's visual language. Familiar elements of Slavic culture are reimagined through a dark fantasy aesthetic.

We want to give players a complete and quality experience where everything works in harmony: gameplay, visuals, narrative, and music. Tsarevna moves like a ballerina, and ballet becomes her weapon. The music must emphasize that fluidity: aerial combos, balletic transitions, and battles against the creatures of darkness.

We are continuing to work on the soundtrack and other aspects of the game. There is much more to come, and we will definitely share it with you.

In TSAREVNA. Age of Tales, combat is built on more than just attacks, dodges, and status effects. At its core lie the physics and fluidity of the human body. A step, a turn, a breath, a fleeting moment of balance right before a graceful movement transforms into a devastating blow.

For us, ballet isn't just a beautiful visual layer, nor is it limited to aesthetic poses and elegant silhouettes. It is the very foundation of how our heroine perceives the world and fights. Her movements must feel graceful yet lethal. Precise yet brutal.

That is one of the core ideas behind the game: taking something deeply refined and translating it into the language of martial arts, turning every encounter into a mesmerizing performance.

In our new video, you’ll see the journey of creating our combat choreography—from the motion capture studio to the final in-game results.

First, you will see live-action footage of the actors and choreographers perfecting pirouettes, steps, turns, strikes, and transitions that later evolve into the Tsarevna’s combat choreography. This new video demonstrates that the game's core concept originates not on the screen, but within the physics of the human body—brought to life through the collaborative work of the prima ballerina, choreographers, animators, and the development team.
