New Steam Trading Cards!

You can now craft your very own badge on your steam profile for Database Detective: Minor Crimes Division using these new trading cards!

I wanted these cards to have a very cohesive design, similar to trading card sets like Exodia the Forbidden One from Yugioh. Personally I feel like there should be more games on Steam embracing cohesive trading card designs! It's a lot of fun!

Once you assemble all trading cards you can craft the badges shown below!

Some people have also mentioned that finishing this game should give them a certification, so I made that into the special foil badge!

Once you craft a badge, you'll get a select background from copOS for your Steam profile as well as one of these emotes shown below!

Special thanks to Moonchild Luna for creating the two incredible emotes on the bottom row!

Case 5 bug?

So I am on Case 5 and I am 100% certain I have found the right person. The following things match: - lowest tip percentage of all order sums - ordered 3 pizzas, as in the picture - ordered 4 pinaples (one would be enough) I have verified my solution with the queries some other users posted here and I get the same result. Yet the game says it's wrong. I know very well how to find the solution. - sum the price of each order Example query: select order_number, SUM(price), doll...

SELECT * FROM Agg_2 ORDER BY ("dollars_tipped" / "sum (price)") ASC The only way that I was able to complete case five is through the following: SELECT * FROM Agg_2 ORDER BY 2 ASC

Overall a good game with strong concept. When I first got it I could not stop playing, but by chapter seven the game becomes a trivial mystery game whereby you are searching websites for clues and learning very little in the way of SQL. I stopped playing at that point because it became such a chore.

Case 4 Demo Possible?

Hey Steam, so I just discovered this game and I've played through the demo twice, but I can't seem to find the right suspect for case 4. Is it possible? Am I an idiot? The first time through I narrowed it down to 5 suspects with the number of dumbbells and lamps, then narrowed that list down by searching which ones attended Lotioncon and Bureaucon, the two events that the criminal didn't attend, and that only left one suspect, who was incorrect. Demo Update 2.01

The demo is now up to date with (most of) the updates from the base game! Also made sure that opening the demo when you have the full game does not delete your entire save file (but it does delete progress in the 4th case since that level shares the level number with the demo credits scene).

I have played through 7/10 levels so far, and this is genuinely one of my favourite games ever. I wish there were more levels or that people could make their own! I would especially recommend it for anyone wanting an excuse to learn SQL or refresh their knowledge.

It seems to be great for both SQL beginners and experts. There is a built in SQL guide book for beginners that is easy to follow. People with experience can probably expect to get through the levels faster. 7 levels took me ~6 hours of playing while multitasking, so its pretty light (I have intermediateish SQL proficency).

The "crimes" that you have to solve are quite fun and well made! The later ones really have an escape room feel and involve much more deduction and sleuthing meaning even if the SQL parts are trivial for you, there is still fun to be had.

this scratched my puzzle/deduction itch, it's also pretty commendable to have a game about teaching SQL without it being too stuffy or too much of a lecture.
