Major Update: Hardcore Mode!

Oct 31

Hardcore Mode:

In Hardcore Mode, player traits are just estimates and not true values.

Traits are shown as letters.

The AI get an advantage because it knows the real traits.

This Mode can be toggled On / Off in League Settings

Appeal Changes:

Player and Coach Appeal impact was reduced.

Team owned and Event Appeal impact was unchanged.

As the Appeal gets farther from 0 it will take more weekly events to change the player or coach individual Appeal impact.

This was needed because one really popular player or coach was all you needed to spike a team's Appeal

Training Events for Play Time:

Added Weekly Experience Training Events.

Each regular season game one player in the game will get this training (NOT PER TEAM).

The player must have played 10 plays and younger players are more likely to be chosen.

This encourages playing younger players. Only one team gets the Event to prevent meta-gaming (like playing only one young player to spike their training)

Other Minor Updates:

Added ability to simulate to a certain week

Added dead and rezzed players to the retirements screen

QB targeting decisions tweaked. Increased preference for slightly deeper passes and QB will now consider the rating of the player they are targeting when choosing between equally open targets.

Added more end of season training events for teams that missed the playoffs. Increased the SR cap to 75 and changed the games played to games started.

Added Undead to ancestry pop-ups

Players will no longer select they last team they played for when they are free agents

Added confirmation screen before end of season roster trim

Tweaked AI logic for picking starters and positions

Bug Fixes:

Fixed issue with dependent traits not saving variation over 10 points (this could have been limiting some of the team training)

Fixed issue with traded draft picks being duplicated

Fixed UI issues with trading draft picks

Fixed Export Draft Adjustment not changing when edited and changed default to -4

Fixed losing music after the In Memoriam screen

Fixed issue where team names with less than 3 letters preventing watching games

Fixed HOF not showing new inductee portraits

Fixed blank portraits showing default player body

Some bugs, first impressions, and thoughts

I'm going to lead with once I got past the initial UI I really like this. I'm not going to refund it, there's an incredible franchise management sim here. So first impressions. The initial UI was really clunky and I think (hope) a lot of it is placeholder. The promotion system is a brilliant concept but nothing on that page is made clear and the tooltips refer to a completely different page. There's a semi-softlock where if you put every team under AI direction while creating a league it leads to a b...

Roster setup is rough

It's weird to me that there are stats for QB and HB but the roster screen doesn't seem to have an option to set a dedicated passer or runner.

Finally got to playing BB2. My feedback.

Usually I'd post bugs and suggestions on the discord back with BB1, but since this a long post decided I will just post here since you seem active here as well. It's been overdue for me but I bought BB2 and putting some hours and really like what I see. On field action looks more polished and I'm liking the depth of all the sub-attributes which makes players even more unique. Probably been harder for you to balance position ratings with all the complexity now, but balance wise seems in a decent state alrea...

Snow Meant to Destroy Passing Game?

In the first game of my season, my team was passing nearly every down and was very successful at it with the opponent moderately less so. In the second game, there appeared to be heavy snow on the ground and essentially no passes were attempted. In the third game, there were flurries with no snow on the ground and while passes were attempted occasionally, my ~75 hands receiver dropped all six or seven thrown his way. Is the intention for snow to completely shut down the passing game? If so, could the team...

A Question about Free Agents

Loving the new free agent and claims system. Luckily, I haven't needed to use it much in my current league, but i may have discovered a problem. In my current League, I am emulating the NFL to some extent, 32 teams, 2 conferences, 4 divisions, 18 week season. I have also adjusted the injury and death percentages to be a bit higher meaning the season is truly gruelling and many teams lose to attrition part-way through the season. To compensate, i have set 7 rounds of drafting (just like the NFL). This cau...
