Barfender Reveal Date Announcement

Aug 27

Grab your shakers, stock the inventory, and prepare for the rush.

Barfender is officially launching into Early Access on October 12, 2026!

We are thrilled to finally open the doors to our co-op bar simulation. Whether you are perfectly mixing complex orders, managing the absolute chaos of a busy night or just trying to keep the venue from falling apart, we cannot wait for you and your friends to step behind the counter.

Barfender is currently 100% playable and bug-free. We don’t see Early Access as an “incomplete game,” but as a “game that will become even better together with you.”

At its core, Barfender is a game built on chaos and fun. To elevate this dynamic to its fullest potential, player feedback is crucial. The Early Access phase will allow us to integrate your ideas and experiences directly into the development process.

The Early Access model is a critical step in helping us achieve the expansive scope we envision for Barfender. With your support during this process, we will be able to add new content, streamline mechanics, and deliver a much richer gameplay experience.

Wishlist the Game: Add Barfender to your Steam wishlist to receive an immediate notification the moment the Early Access build goes live.
Gather Your Crew: Coordinate with your co-op partners now. You will need a reliable team to handle the most demanding customers.
Join the Conversation: We want to hear your feedback from day one. Follow our community hub and Discord to share your thoughts, report bugs, and chat directly with us!

Get ready to serve up some chaos. We will see you behind the bar on October 12th!-Proto Division & Rock Paper Publisher

BARFENDER OUT NOW!

Oct 12

Barfender is now in Early Access!

After a long road of preparation, the day has finally come: Barfender is now available in Early Access on Steam! We've opened the doors, switched on the lights and filled the kegs. Now it's your turn.

25% launch discount

To celebrate our Early Access launch, Barfender is 25% off throughout Steam Cooking Fest. There's no better time to be among the first to open the bar.

You asked, and it's in from day one

You're steering Barfender's course even more than we are. You asked for the Employee System so much, a feature we'd originally planned to add months down the line, that we put it in the game from day one. Without your brainstorming on Discord and your feedback in the Steam discussions, Barfender wouldn't be what it is today.

The road to 1.0

Our goal is to reach the full release (1.0) in Spring 2027 through regular updates. Along the way, we'll make Barfender bigger, deeper and a whole lot more chaotic:

Advanced bartending: More drinks, cooling systems, ice and richer prep mechanics
Kitchen & food: Fries, burgers, pizza and much more
Staff & automation: New staff roles, character traits and detailed management options
Side quests & storylines: New characters, stories and activities like Fight Club
Venue upgrades & entertainment: Pool, darts, arcade machines and lots more customization
Chaos & progression: New customer behaviors, special events and a deeper progression system

Everyone who picks up Barfender in Early Access will get all of this upcoming content at no extra cost.

A huge thank you to everyone who played the demo, sent us feedback and helped push Barfender past 30,000 wishlists. This bar opened thanks to you!

See you behind the bar!

Barfender Has Passed 30,000 Wishlists!

Oct 11

Hello everyone!

We have some amazing news to share: Barfender has passed 30,000 wishlists!

What started as the dream of a handful of people has become a place tens of thousands of players now have their eyes on. As a small team, reaching this number means the world to us.

All thanks to you

A huge thank you to everyone who played the demo, sent us feedback, reported bugs, shared our videos and recommended Barfender to their friends. Most of the new features in our last demo update came straight from your suggestions. In other words, we built this bar together.

And the doors open tomorrow!

Even better, we won't have to wait long to celebrate on the floor: Barfender launches into Early Access tomorrow, October 12! Bottles will break, fights will break out, orders will pile up, but this time the bar is open to everyone.

Early Access Review

I played the demo of the game and bought it as soon as it came out. It's truly the best simulation game I've played in a long time, and I highly recommend it to everyone. I can play it anytime to have fun with friends or to unwind.

Early Access Review

This game is chaotic as hell. This random woman got pissed because she’d been waiting too long for me to take her order and just started a bar fight, punching everyone around her. Everything went to ♥♥♥♥. Glasses and chairs were flying everywhere, and some dude passed out in the corner projectile vomiting.

Then this homeless guy comes in begging customers for money. Gave him a free beer, he said thanks and went off his merry way.

It's great!

Super fun! Legit played for 9 hours straight with my friend!! Definitely looking forward to updates <3
That being said, it does feel like it's missing a few core features that may make gameplay more smooth (and get me to play more!!) such as:
- Other types of staff to hire like dishwashers/bouncers/etc. (only Waiter available now)
- Progression system in regards to expanding bar is a bit restricted. Just hit five stars (Day 40) and can only expand once.
- Possibly work on bar fight system as people will constantly fight nonstop no matter what (especially the ones who start to throw things for some reason)
- Maybe (not entirely needed) add labels above shakers to show what drink is in there unless it is on purpose for player to try and figure out

Photo Mode - Is there a Hide UI toggle?

I have no idea if there is a hidden key or shortcut to hide the UI in photo mode. Because taking an in game screenshot disables the overlay effects on Rreshade. Hope the devs can add a UI toggle in the future in photo mode ^_^

Keep the demo archive

HI! I played the demo and it was fun so I bought the official version. But when i open the official one, the archive of the demo is not synchronised with the official game only the role. It look like I need to play from the beginning. It is a situation that I did not have after experiencing the demo in other game. It will make me lose interest in starting from the beginning. So is there any method to restore or synchronise my demo archive to the official version?? Thx...

The tutorial is frustrating

We are really enjoying the game as a whole, but wish the tutorial could be turned off / ends quicker. Things like forcing you to take a loan so early and betting money on races, it just isn't fun. We picked up the game quickly and would rather be left alone to progress/discover things on our own....
