I was going to leave a positive review to counteract all the negative russian reviews and give it a fighting chance HOWEVER, I just played my second match and there are actually only 4-5 minigames on the wheel? What the actual ♥♥♥♥, it's not a party if half of the minigames end in 30 seconds and there's only 5 of them, seriously???? Okay back to original review, I think this game has some cool themes and ideas, I find it a bit disjointed though, like the inbetween point distribution stuff is more frustrating and feels like a waste of time compared to actually playing the minigames. Also, I'm sorry but saying the game is "stuffed" with mini-games and I only see 5 on the game wheel, this game won't be fun to play after like 2 sessions if that is the case, not nearly enough variety to stay fresh or replayable, I'd expect much more depth of gamemode creation at that point. I also feel like some of the game modes are misleading in the trailer, for example the bumper cars game mode is turn based, which isn't necessarily bad, but it is awkward. So far my gamemode reviews would be this based off of what I got in my first match.
Headcrab: 6/10 Fun but having the timer makes it too easy to gimmick it
Dynamite: 8/10 I like the idea of hit the timer as close to the number, however I am worried about ping differences.
Blind Shoot: 7/10 Good game-mode, I like it so far, however being able to run into each other lets me know exactly where someone is, which is maybe the intention but thought I'd bring it up if it was not.
Music Hero: 4/10 I'm honestly over these in every single party game, it feels like a throwaway category for people that are good at guitar hero.
Bumper Car: 5/10, like yeah it's fun I guess, random and chaotic with a lot of people, but it is turn based, and really leaves a lot of fun on the table by doing that.
Midround Minigames: They are what they are, 5/10. You have blackjack, russian roulette, and then pick your favorite person to live as the game-modes. I'm not a big fan of the turn order deciding who wins in a tie, I had a guy just pick my answers the whole time during normal roulette and when I picked wrong I get shot and he wins without it shooting him. I dunno, seems wrong.
I honestly can't think of another gamemode that I even played that I remember at this point from the first match, mainly because it was basically 4 random minigames + 4 inbetween round mini-mini-games that I listed above. I'd rather you have just made those into parts of the minigame wheel and expanded on them.
I'd also like to touch on the fact Machine Party released like a month ago and these games have like almost identical vibes, which is weird to see as a consumer who has never seen a gritty saw like Mario Party besides Pummel Party on steam for years. My biggest issue with Machine Party was a lack of randomness and a huge lack in content beyond the first playthrough, I thought that this would be the counter thesis stuffed with mini-games but somehow it has way less to offer at this point, not to mention it went straight to full release instead of early access. 5 minigames for 5 dollars, I guess thanks?
LONG STORY SHORT: Genuinely disappointed, was sold an idea of a jam packed multiplayer gore fest, what I got was someone's half baked project that feels like a direct ripoff of machine party with 80 percent less content.
