Day 3 of Daily Updates! (Pretty big one)

Oct 29

Hi everyone!

It's Screen Stocks' third day, and I have a pretty update for you all! Thanks to all of the feedback on Discord[discord.gg] and the Steam Community Forums, we've been able to squash tons of bugs and we've even added more content...

Here's a list of the bugs we've fixed:

Frozen trade buttons should be entirely fixed
Closing a trade right after an auto action triggers no longer locks the stock at times
The game no longer sends trades to the server that it knows will fail, meaning they will not lock your stock
Fixed an issue where shares sometimes reappeared after you closed them
Clicking buy/short twice in a row no longer gets your second trade rejected for cooldown
Fixed closing trade behaviour to prevent leftover shares even when auto actions are involved
Auto actions now trigger even if the price has passed the target
No more “0 shares / $0” positions that won’t close
Leftover positions no longer block you from buying or shorting the other way
Auto-actions no longer fail or reset their timer without trading
Auto-actions on busy stocks (like $BASE) now go through basically instantly instead of up to 20s or more
“Available” stock updates instantly after you sell
Auto-actions now show straight away when the price is already past your target
No more negative net worth after going public
Auto-actions no longer show wrong numbers right after going public

On a separate note... Since you guys are so crazy good at manipulating the market, some players have been progressing through the "Going Public" levels faster than expected. Because of this, we've added 10 more! There are now bonuses for up to 25 times you go public!

Lastly, we've also added more server connection points to the game such as Hong Kong. If you live in Asia, the game should be much more stable for you now!

https://store.steampowered.com/app/4356780/Screen_Stocks/I hope you keep on enjoying Screen Stocks, and I would REALLY appreciate it if you reviewed the full game. It's the best thing you can do to support the game if you're enjoying it!

Thank you for first 24h! + New Update

Oct 28

Hi everyone!

It's been about a day since Screen Stocks released, and I can't thank you all enough for how incredible it has been! Over the past 24 hours we've been working on doing some updates, here's some of what we've pushed:

Fixed a bug that caused some players to have the buy/short buttons greyed out.
Fixed a bug that caused your net worth graph not to update.
Fixed a bug that caused some players from China to have additional lag.
Lots of small optimisations to make the game's experience smoother.

We're still working on more, and if you find any other bugs please report them in the Steam community forums or on Discord! If you join the Discord[discord.gg], people are also having lots of fun manipulating the market and making $BASE do crazy patterns...

If you're based in China and the game is stuck on "Loading...", it might be that your internet provider is not allowing access to the game's server because the game is hosted overseas. If this is the case, try to use a game accelerator (游戏加速器) like UU or Xunyou!

If the game is not yet listed in your game accelerator of choice, you may need to add it yourself manually or accelerate all traffic.

游戏是不是暗改了BASE

发售第一天还好好的炒作BASE拿到了前20名今天早上我上市后BASE股价就基本没太大波动了！是不是暗改了！

Decent idle game, but the MMO aspect doesnt work. Manual trading can often end up in losses, because the buy registers seconds later. For example I shorted $BUBL when it was around $80 and it went above 100$ and my short registered when it was 1.00$. Also even when being in the top 100 players in ranking, your stock buys and sells dont impact the market meaningfully. Game would have been better if it was local without bad netcode and servers, and if you truly could manipulate market. Now you just have to set Auto Actions and idle.

Auto close short doesn't work

A buy order for the same stock went through, but the “close short” order—which was set to trigger when the price exceeded a certain value—did not execute. I'm not sure if this is a bug.

Hooked for hours, and it's only $5

Screen Stocks is one of those games where you say "one more trade" and suddenly it's been three hours. The shared market makes every it’s really fun too. Especially the Base trade. Lost 400B in 1 trade today.

A few things that would make it even better:

More music. The soundtrack is good, but after long sessions it starts to repeat. A few more tracks would go a long way.

Faster buy/sell response. There's a noticeable delay sometimes between clicking and the trade going through, which can cost you when prices are moving fast.

Option to hide stocks. Being able to hide stocks you don't trade would clean up the screen and make it quicker to focus on your portfolio.

None of these stop me recommending it. The devs are clearly active and listening, so I'm excited to see where it goes. Easy 5 stars.
