I started to play this game back then in 2009, and played it for several years. I came back after 9 years, to revive some nostalgia and good memories i attached to this game.
It became a horrible experience when i started playing again, and i deleted the game after 2 days, because I couldn't continue, due it's so terrible what it became.
I know they don't give a damn anymore, but the developers should learn some basics about skill-based matchmaking. Maybe some old and new players would enjoy and have a fun, but the bad experience against ultra-pro players at "level 2!!!" and unbalanced matches make this game terrible. When i clicked "casual" I didn't mean to join ranked... The opponents are irrealisticly hard and putting beginners against a horde of op players make this experience unplayable. I also don't understand the logic in this game's matchmaking. New players should start in the pros' team to learn basics and not make them quit early, or put fewer ops against more beginners.

It's such a shame, this game used to be one of my favorites, and it's sad what it became. Maybe fixing these issues would make the returning, new and other players stay more and spend more in the game, but until then it's unplayable for me.

This game is now a washed-up druggie with one of the most god-awful gaming communities I have ever seen in my life. Ridiculously toxic and deranged. The marketplace is run by what is essentially a mafia, the majority of "players" are item-farming bots, official server-joining systems are a buggy mess that take an eternity to function if at all, development has been severely neglected for nearly a decade, and again... the community is hideously toxic.

Coming from someone who once played TF2 near-daily and loved it earnestly, I cannot in good conscience recommend it to anyone anymore. On the contrary, I urge you to stay away from TF2, as far away as possible. The cesspit it has become is that rancid. Just spare yourself the misery and play a singleplayer game or something.

I'm pretty sure this review is going to inundated with immense hostility. If you intend to hurl hostility my way, please don't. If you have genuine and earnest criticism of this review, earnest-to-god criticism, then I wholeheartedly welcome it.
