Update v0.8.1
With your help, we've found and addressed a handful of bugs.

BUG FIXES:

• Some player's progress didn't properly migrate, we've addressed that. Sorry :(

• Occasionally Victory Points were not showing as changed after a match. Now they do. Every time, we swear.

• Pressing Ranked before finishing all the Boss Missions no longer has a chance to drop you into match-making purgatory.

• Equipping a Tournament card in the deck editor didn't work. Now it does. Yay!

Welcome to Early Access

• This update marks the official end of the Origins TCG demo and the beginning of our final stretch toward 1.0!

• On one hand, that means the game is getting closer to launch.

• On the other hand, this is where development truly begins.

• The demo was designed to be a relatively polished slice of Origins. Early Access is where we start opening the doors wider, building out the systems that will make up the full game, experimenting more aggressively, and occasionally letting you see some food while it's still cooking in the kitchen.

• There will be bugs. There will be unfinished things. There will probably be things we change our minds about. There will even be things we were absolutely certain about up until five minutes before we weren't.

• Thanks for being here while we build it.

Origins is Now in Early Access

• The Demo era is officially over. Pour one out for the demo page on Steam. And RIP our old 95% positive review score (it got reset for Early Access)

• Your account, collection, progression, and everything else now live in the Early Access version of Origins.

• From here, we'll continue building toward 1.0 with new systems, content, polish, balance changes, and plenty of feedback from all of you along the way.

Grandmaster Division is Open
The top of the Ranked ladder is finally open.

• Players can now advance into Grandmaster Division.

• The Grandmaster Leaderboard is now enabled.

• Once you're in Grandmaster, you'll be competing for your worldwide rank against every other Grandmaster player while also trying to figure out how so many people are somehow better than you at this game. (spoiler alert: It's probably rigged)

And for our first season, we wanted to give you a particularly good reason to climb.

There are limited-edition rewards available for players who finish the season at the highest ranks, including rewards that will commemorate your placement in Origins' very first Early Access ranked season.

Our current plan is to end ranked season #1 sometime in early December. We'll keep you posted in case calendars, development, or reality have other ideas.

Card Grading Effects Are Here
You've seen us talking about grading for a while.

Now you can finally see our first take on it in the game.

Collectible cards can have grades ranging from 1 to 10, and their visual appearance now reflects that grade through a variety of imperfections and effects.

This is very much a first pass.

Grading is one of the systems we've been particularly excited to experiment with, so we'd love to hear what you think: what works, what doesn't, what you like, and don't, and whether opening a highly graded card feels as exciting as we hope it does.

Please come tell us on Discord.

Collectible Cards Are Now Tradable on the Steam Marketplace
This is a big one.

• Collectible cards can now be bought, sold, and listed on the Steam Marketplace.

• Starter gameplay cards remain yours to play with forever, just like before.

• Collectible versions are the things you can own, grade, collect, and now trade.

This is an important step toward the collectible economy we're building for Origins.

Non-card collectible cosmetics are not tradable yet, but they will become tradable in a future update. And may your Internet router suffer a catastrophic hardware failure if you ask us which update.

• 0.8 isn't the finish line.

• It's the point where we start showing you more of the road.

• Between now and 1.0, expect Origins to change quite a bit.

• Some systems will get substantially expanded.

• Some interfaces will get rebuilt.

• Some things will show up before they're fully polished.

• Some experiments won't survive.

• Some things you love will move three pixels to the left and cause a Discord riot.

That's what Early Access is for.

You've all already had a meaningful impact on the game through the demo, and we're humbled and excited to build the rest of it with you!
