This release primarily fixes bugs players have run into since the last update. This hotfix took a bit longer than we intended due to us upgrading the version of Unity we are using and having to deal with new bugs caused by that move. This move also means we have temporarily removed the upscaling options, which shouldn't be a big deal for most users, as the original implementation was netting little to no frame improvements.

The biggest change in this update is how seats work and how we block or don't block their placement. You should find all of their placement bounds have been shrunk significantly, allowing tighter and better placement. We achieved this by letting customers pass through a seat if they must get to another place; they no longer need a clean navigation path with 0 obstacles. Of course, there is a slight visual degradation from this, but we personally feel it strikes a better balance. For example, with the bench seat, you would normally be able to shuffle along to get to a spot next to a wall; our NPCs weren't capable of that under the original system, and this update solves that.


The other major change is initial work to improve the way our new cell placement system functions. More items should now default to it being off, and you can now toggle it on or off at any time. This is still a bit of a work in progress so feedback will be much appreciated.

On top of this, we also fixed a weird bug that could occur with the restocking functionality, and in particular with couriers. If a courier happened to be at the traffic lights and got themselves assigned to restocking, they would magically teleport items to themselves and rapidly dump them in place. This bug is solved now, and the courier has lost their magical powers.


There is also a wealth of other various bug fixes.

We are now turning our focus to our next major content update; this one will take a bit more to get done properly, and we will be seeking beta feedback for those who are interested. If you are interested in testing out the next update, we will be posting about it on both our Discord and in the Steam discussion forums later this week. Current ETA is end of the week but the beta may slip into next week. Changes will come in chunks for that update and it will likely have a chunk of bugs that we will need to iron out.

• [NEW] Employees that are using a tray to deliver items can now bring back dirty dishes on their way back (they must still have the cleaning task assigned to them).

You can also now put more up against walls etc as customers can now walk partially through a seat to get to another seat where needed. For example, with the bench seat they can get to the part next to the wall if placed that way.
  
• [FIX] Significantly improve the way shaders are generated in our game to reduce hitching. DX12, Vulkan will now pre-generate the shader cache on load. DX11 will perform shader warmup on load.
  
• [FIX] Fixed an issue that allowed NPCs to walk through the prep bench.
  
• [FIX] Improve the new cell placement logic so it doesn't apply to every item, and also can now be toggled off and on.
  
• [FIX] Improve the way the cell placement logic handles adjacent cells from another surface.
  
• [FIX] Fixed a bug in our employee arrived logic. An employee at the traffic lights could task themselves to something such as restocking. Since the system held them in place it would think they have always arrived at their destination, causing boxes to teleport and be dumped at the traffic lights.
  
• [FIX] Change the way the takeaway, pass, and delivery surfaces worked to utilize the new cell grid system. This should make employee placement more reliable.
  
• [FIX] Fixed an issue that could cause dirty mugs to become uninteractable.
  
• [FIX] Removed some of the triggers that caused the Clean Sweep achievement to be harder to get than intended. Additionally, made it clearer when your streak is broken and reset.
  
• [FIX] Corrected the 50 perfect drinks achievement so that the streak will continue into the next day.
  
• [FIX] Fixed sink basin contents not restoring after a save and load.
  
• [FIX] Shelves that don't have a category set, such as the display shelves, are no longer treated as a stocking location for employees by default, so they won't just dump entire boxes onto them.
  
• [FIX] Corrected the tables that came with the new seats so that items are properly attached to the surface. This only fixes new placements. Existing items need to be picked up and placed back down to attach properly and move with the table.
  
• [FIX] Changed the way customer seating is calculated to stop them from floating in the air.
  
• [FIX] Improve the way baristas bag delivery orders so they won't accidentally split one order across multiple bags, which could softlock the order's progress.
  
• [FIX] Improve the way delivery couriers operate so they do their job more reliably.

This hotfix addresses immediate issues and includes minor changes.

After this update, you should find employees much more efficient in how they use the tray, as they will now batch orders more cleanly. Instead of all racing to grab orders as fast as possible, one employee will claim a chunk before the next one does.

Additionally, employees should be better at actually washing dishes. Washing dishes has also been separated out into its own task group. If you previously disabled cleaning for an employee, this will automatically be disabled for that specific employee.

• [NEW] Added the ability to set a shelf to "NOTHING". This will stop employees from putting items on it.
  
• [NEW] Coffee/food items that have been assigned to a customer will now display their table number if available.
  
• [FIX] Solved an issue that would stop you from being able to bulk add items into holders from the tray
  
• [FIX] Stop employees from going to a location, then returning to grab a tray rather than just grabbing the tray in the first place. Should speed up waiters a lot in large cafes
  
• [FIX] Improve employees so they can actually restock syrup holders and ice cream freezers. Ice cream freezers will default to one type per slot; syrup holders will be based on the syrup last placed in them.
  
• [FIX] Improve the way the employee task manager works so they are more likely to perform certain tasks
  
• [FIX] Improve the way the employee task scheduler works so it batches together certain tasks when using the tray.
  
• [FIX] Improve the way employees schedule dish washing. Expanded it into its own task group so you can better task it and dedicate staff to washing.
  
• [FIX] Improve milk jug handling when you happen to pour milk into a jug that an employee was using.
  
• [FIX] Don't promote vending machine customers to normal cafe customers. This doesn't affect actual flow rate but stops customers with drinks already in their hand from ending up in the cafe.
  
• [FIX] Improve the placement of some items, such as pastries, onto the new grid snap surfaces.
  
• [FIX] Solved an issue that caused the number of takeout orders icon to disappear.
