Welcome to all the new players trying the demo. Have fun with Sushiamo ^^
Remember to wishlist the game if you haven't yet, so you can take advantage of the release discount!

Less than 2 weeks to the full release! I'm looking forward to sharing all the amazing content I built with you all!
So many cool things you didn't see in the demo 😍
A little hint of something that will be in the full game 👀 (Can you guess what it will be?)

Thank you to everyone who left a review or shared their feedback and appreciation of the game 🩵
I never expected the game would be loved so much. I read all the reviews, and some of them are so touching!
Now for the boring part (or interesting part depending on what you like...) (I like reading changelogs :D)

• Sushiamo is finally fully translated into Brazilian Portuguese! 🇧🇷 🇧🇷 🇧🇷 It took a while, but it was worth it!

• The way the dice roll was working was confusing for many players. The number representing success was always 1, while many expected it to be the highest number.
So now I changed the dice so that the highest number on the dice is what counts as success, showing the ✔ symbol :)

• Reworked the narrative events completely. Making them clearer, balanced, and showing the outcomes in a more consistent way. Now there will be fewer frustrating surprises and more interesting choices :)

• Added more feedback in some special events

• Made the event screen scrollable when it becomes too tall

• Improved the reward screen when ingredients are displayed to fit more cards

• Chef's Reserve cooldown reduced to 1 day (was 2)

• Sriracha cooldown reduced to 3 days (was 4)

• Rare Tool Box price reduced to 8 Yen (was 10)

• Rare Sauce Crate price reduced to 8 Yen (was 10)

• Katsumori price increased to 8 Yen (was 5)

• Omamori price reduced to 5 Yen (was 7)

• Social Post is now Common (was Uncommon)

• Yanagiba Knife bonus reduced to +10 flavour per Sharpness (was +25)

• Skipping reward boxes now gives more yen depending on the rarity 💸

• Fixed A LOT of typos and inconsistencies with various languages

• When an ingredient is disabled, now the X shows only on top of the ingredient card

• Fixed ingredient modifier symbol not going up with the card when selected

• Fixed a bug preventing a keyboard shortcut from working when bound to deselect all cards

• Fixed a bug where locking a box would prevent an ingredient box from being shown

• Fixed the position of the little tooltip shown when hovering over terms like "Frozen"

• Changed when the "Trend Hater" omakase calculates the most played ingredient so it never changes while you are actually playing the hand

• Now when an ingredient is cloned, the current state is also cloned

Thanks to all the players and the Discord community for the feedback that led to many of these changes!

We finally reached 10k wishlists!

I didn't expect the game to reach so many people when I posted it on Steam! Thank you to everyone for wishlisting my game, playing the demo, and sharing your feedback!

Also, a big thank you to all the YouTubers who shared their gameplay with others; it really helped to find new players ^^

If your favourite YouTuber plays games like this and didn't try Sushiamo yet, feel free to suggest it to them to help the game find more players 🩵

This update took a long time to develop, but brings so many important new feature which were needed for the full version, and so many improvements and balance changes :)
We are less than a month from the full release (4 Nov), and I'm happy that I was able to add all the things I wanted for the 1.0!
Also, there is a cool secret thing that I worked on that will be revealed only when the full game is out! It will be sooo much fun 😊

Since I started working on Sushiamo, the support I saw in Steam reviews, on YouTube, Discord, the feedback form, and more was so amazing and lovely 🩵 Thank you so much for the kind words, and I'm so happy that so many of you are enjoying the game and sharing it with friends! I'm developing Sushiamo by myself and fully self-publishing the game to keep it independent. Words like this really motivate me to continue working through all the obstacles and challenges of being a solo developer! 🩵

Some things that are happening soon!

• Improved ingredient modifier shaders to make the ingredient name and flavour more readable

• New setting to mute the cat voice if you really have to :'(

• Added a new setting to mute the music in one click

• Added a new setting to show a symbol on ingredients with a modifier, so you can now distinguish them better.

• New accessibility setting to disable the background animation (Useful to prevent motion sickness)

• Changed how the "Fast Forward" works so that when it's clicked, the scoring accelerates instantly

• The first boss reroll of the run is now "free" (the second not tho...)

• Now the market boxes are more balanced to offer both ingredients and tools/sauces each time

• Updated mirin mist to be more balanced and show the odds in the description

• Changed the "Mutated" modifier to always show the dice roll even when it fails (it wasn't clear to players that the modifier was working if they didn't see the dice roll). Additionally clarified the feedback during scoring and the description.

• Prevent "Rental" tools from being given in boxes or rewards

• Mushy modifier now plays a different sound when reducing flavour to 1 🥶

• Updated the credits with all the new amazing contributions!

• Fully reworked the card dragging logic. This should make it easier to move cards around and make the animation less "jumpy"

• Now the little bubble above ingredients when scoring gets "pushed" behind when retriggering ingredients (so when all the bubbles get sent to the score it's soo satisfying)

• Improved the game saves system to check if saves are corrupt and auto-recover them

• Improved the number for the flavour label on ingredients cards to be way more readable

• Moved the tutorial checkbox in the "New Run" screen

• Improved the screen shake effect to be more consistent and look better

• When the score is almost 100% but not quite, now the game doesn't round up to 100% but down to 99% :) I know it was very confusing!

• Improved the "Elite Client" reroll warning to make it clear which tool will be destroyed (only when the tools slot are full)

• Improved the settings layout and organization (Also creating a new Controls tab)

• Improved the readability of the little text over ingredients during scoring

• Improved the "Modifier" and "Variant" text effect to look nicer!

• Now when you enable "Switch Scrap and Make" from the settings, the label for those (in the top left during a service) also changes position

• Removed the little pause when making a sushi after the ingredients go to the center of the screen (this makes the scoring flow a bit nicer)

• Changed the dice roll effect to be clearer, especially when it's 1 in 2

• Now the item unlock popups don't block clicks, so you can click continue while the popup is visible

• The ingredient destroy animation is now faster

• You can now speed up the wave transition by clicking it

• Added a new setting in the "Controls" tab to make controller icons bigger for better visibility

• Added a new setting in the "Controls" tab to "Always show controller glyphs" this is useful for player who use both gamepad and mouse but also for players which mapped their steam control to both inputs system (to avoid flickering the glyphs on and off)

• Improved the experience of selecting and dragging cards with the controller

• Added a gamepad shortcut for the "Skip" button when opening a box or getting a reward

There are a lot of possible interactions with sauces, so I have tried to make it more player-friendly and clearer.

• Auto-add the sauce to the inventory when you are in the "Use Sauce" screen and click skip (if there is space)

• Auto-add a sauce to the inventory after you use it from the market, and it's disposable but also bottomless and rolls successfully (if there is space)

• Now in the "Use Sauce" screen, the sauce "Use" button is always shown (So there is less confusion from just seeing the skip button and clicking it by mistake)

• Allow some sauces to be used directly from the boss reward whenever it's possible (for instance, a sauce which doubles the yen)

• Now in the "Use Sauce" screen, the ingredients are selectable only when the sauce requires it

• Fixed a bug that made it possible to add disposable sauce to the inventory after they were consumed from the market

• Added a new line for the tutorial to explain the difference between ingredient Quality and Modifier

• Added a new tutorial message in the market to highlight the new lock item feature

In this patch, I fixed a lot of very weak items so that now they make more sense with the rest :)

• Reworked "The Critic" elite client to target the first ingredient in the sushi to make stale (instead of a random one)

• Buffed the "Short Shift" tool to give ¥5 per unused Make (was ¥2)

• Reduced the rarity of multiple tools (from Rare to Uncommon and from Uncommon to Common respectively)

• Now it will be much easier to find the wheatstone :)

• "Mutated" modifier will not spread to ingredients with other modifiers

• Rebalanced the odds of what can be behind the mystery stops

• Buffed "Hosomaki Scroll" to give +7 hype (instead of +4)

• Nerfed "Nigiri Scroll" to x1.25 flavour (instead of x2.5)

• Adjusted some item prices to follow their new rarity

• Rebalanced the boards and scrolls to be in line with the rest of the tools

• Buffed "Wagyu" to give x5 own flavour instead of +20 hype (I know it was pretty disappointing before. it was still a work in progress :D)

• Mutated modifier changed to +40 flavour (was +20) and 1 in 8 spread chance (was 1 in 10)

• Changed lab-grown modifier effect completely

• A loooot of additional balance changes which are too long to list here

• Improved the description of the "Certificate" tools

• Changed the Spanish translation for "Stale" to "Viejo" (Instead of using "Rancio")

• Fixed a typo in Spanish (saying "e" instead of "y"). I got confused with the Italian :D

• Improved some modifier texts to mark the flavour text with the right color

• Adjusted a lot of strings in various languages to improve wording and fix some typos

• Improved the "Rayu" description to make it clear that it only affects ingredients in hand

• Improved the "Purist" Elite client description for clarity

• Sauce which require a selected ingredient show an underline to make it more noticeable

• Improved Zen dressing description

• Fixed the Tamagoyaki description

• Improved lab-grown modifier description

• Changed "Veg" to "Vegetarian" in English and other languages

• Clarified "Miso Fortune" description to make it clear that ¥ are converted into bonus flavour (x5)

• A lot more changes to fix inconsistencies, typos, and make it clearer

• Fixed a bug that caused the game to lose focus (forever) when opening the Steam overlay during a game (it happened on Steam Deck)

• Fixed the shrimp, which was applying the bonus properly but the message was only shown once (so it looked like it counted just one ingredient). I also took the chance to add some more feedback when the shrimp scores to make it clearer

• Auto-close tools/sauce buttons when making sushi or discarding ingredients

• Add a check to prevent crashing when opening a reward box when you collected every single tool available (It's not very easy but some players can do it lol)

• Fixed an issue where some event data changed when reloading the run

• Fixed some events not showing the correct item modifier/variant preview (For instance, you would get a "Vintage" tool but the event screen shows a standard one)

• Fixed some special characters not being visible on Steam Deck and other Linux systems

• Disabled the reward and tool that gives a bonus for meat ingredients since they are rarely useful in the demo

• Fixed a bug which would cause a locked item to appear as the third item in a market

• Fixed "Membership Card" giving the bonus too early

• Fixed a little bug which can happen when you buy an item in the shop and quickly move the mouse over another (the focus was being lost so the tooltip for that item was hidden)

• Fixed how the game switches monitors when in full screen

• Fixed the dice roll on "Aged" modifiers to show the right color when it fails or passes (it was showing green when the item was getting destroyed)

• Fixed "Mutated" modifier dice roll showing 1 in 20 instead of 1 in 8

• Fixed an issue where the unlocks and the items unlocked could go out of sync

• Fixed destroy animation not being visible in some cases (like for spicy ings.)

• Show the star over pantry and notebook only in the new run screen

• Now the tool order is always in sync between the shop and inside a box

• Disabled dragging ingredients in the pantry (to fix a bug where you could bug their position by dragging them quickly)

• Fixed reroll button in shop cutting part of the number when it becomes wider

• Fixed a crash when clicking "Buy and use" in the shop for sauces that should not be usable (like shrinking sauce while having 0 tools). Now the button is disabled in those cases.

• The disabled shader "X" now shows over the whole tool, even transparent parts (this was needed as the "X" didn't make sense on tools like knives.

• Bin prices will no longer increase when consuming free bin uses

• Fixed Quantum modifier preventing the no rice unlock when transforming to a rice

• Fixed a bug where the list was too long to read and only you actually read it fully, which is very impressive. You must be a curious person like me who reads full changelogs! Write a comment like "Wow I didn't know pineapple \[...continue the phrase]" to show you saw this!

• PS: Since you are so curious, you should join the Discord to get more insight :D
