Patch Roundup: A Livelier Floor and Smoother Play

Thank you for all the feedback since August 24. I have been reading your bug reports, comments and suggestions, and a lot of them are already reflected in the live build. Here is the short version of what changed.

The casino has more life

Free prize draws now return every hour of play, and every third draw has a much larger top prize.
Guests at your table now have their own bankrolls and their own evening. They win, lose and leave, while the casino floor gets busier and quieter as the night moves on.
A guest may stand up mid-hand and tell the table they are heading to the draw. If you try to leave during your first hour before seeing one, the game asks once if you want to stay for it.
The casino manager now reacts to the actual result of your first free spin.

Career progress keeps moving

Ambitions no longer run out. Completing one unlocks a larger target, and all twelve ambition families are now organized into tabs.
Five new career titles fill previously quiet stretches of the Road to Legend.
Legend levels now check both XP and the bankroll you are holding. This is only a threshold, not a fee, so it never spends your chips. If a level is waiting on your bankroll, the progress bar says so directly.

Fixes requested by players

Turning Dealer Voice off now keeps it off, even after changing the sound-effects volume.
Controller navigation and focus now behave properly in Profile and other menus.
Popups no longer block controls behind them, and the stake picker, Profile ledger and poker room list now fit shorter displays without hiding content.
Russian, Ukrainian, Bulgarian and Greek draw text now uses the correct native scripts. Your default seat label is localized too.

Smoother play and better hardware scaling

Reduced recurring hitches while walking the floor, opening tables and sitting at a table.
Steam Deck now uses the game's own pointer in Game Mode, avoiding the expensive system-pointer redraw path.
Unlimited frame rate can no longer flood the render queue, and the game can now recover automatically if the picture stalls.
117 images now reach the graphics card in compressed form, reducing texture-memory demand by about 2.4 GB across the asset library. Any image that did not pass the visual comparison stayed uncompressed.

For a small independent game, that can make a real difference to sales.

Thank you for day one

Honestly, thank you. Casino Legends has been out for a day and the game is diong better then expected and you have already sent more feedback than I dared hope for, and a lot of it went straight into the build. Here is everything that has changed since launch:

Performance improvements across the whole game, with a big pass on Steam Deck (about Steam Deck you need to set it on proton 11-02 for it to work. Go to setting compatibility pick it from the list and you are good to go!)
Fewer crashes: fixed a startup crash that could leave the game stuck before it ever reached the casino
Fewer crashes: fixed a hang where loading into a table could lock you out of the room
Betting now explains itself. If a bet is refused you get told why, in words, and how to get back to playing
Cards are easier to read. Every card got a visible edge, and on Steam Deck resolution the cards are a bit bigger
Blackjack: soft hands show both totals (A + 7 now reads 8/18), the deal goes around the table the way it should, paying out after a dealer bust is much quicker, and there is an Auto button so you do not have to press Deal every hand
The character creator gives you three genuinely different outfits instead of three versions of the same one
The tables talk. Blackjack, roulette, slots and baccarat all got real lines instead of filler
Translation fixes in a lot of languages, including a full pass on Thai and leftover English cleared out of about twenty locales
Menu and loading cleanup, including a loading indicator that no longer freezes while it is loading

Keep it coming! Every report helps, and I read all of them.

Hi everyone,

I'm the solo developer behind Pinch Games, and today I'm releasing Casino Career.

Just like Chess Kingdom and Checkers Kingdom, the idea was simple: a real game you can own and enjoy, without subscriptions or microtransactions chipping away at the experience.

Casino Career brings together Texas Hold'em, Blackjack, Roulette, Slots, and Baccarat, with 50 AI opponents, each with their own play style and personality.

As a solo developer, I thought about Early Access, but a game this size would not get enough feedback that way. So I went straight for a full release instead.

That means I need YOU. Please leave feedback and reviews, good or bad, it all helps. I'm one person, so patches and fixes can go out fast once I know what to look at.
