I can play the best Touhou game with the best Touhou soundtrack without having to trick my computer into thinking it's 1999 to get it running. Instant thumbs up.

Absolute perfect recreation of the original 2002 game, down to being compatible with old replay and save data! Since the original source code was lost, the developers manually decompiled the original game, rebuilding it from the ground up with 1:1 accuracy! It's so accurate, Rin Satsuki is still in the game's binary. I literally checked. She's there.

It's nice to be able to play this game without 3 unofficial patches, a locale emulator, and a good-luck prayer to the Hakurei Shrine's patron deity. The OG was super unstable on Windows 10/11, and I bet it was a nightmare to set up on Linux too. Now, the game runs out-of-the-box without any hitches. Also, playing this version on Switch looks like a meme someone would post only 5 years ago. It's surreal.

This is an incredible preservation effort, and the best way to play the most influential doujin game of all time.
And it comes free with an incredible remaster! Wow! All the more reason to give ZUN more beer money!

You can finally play it without luring your PC into believing it's at a Japanese office, after the end of the Cold War.

The inputs read correctly, the music plays well, and you can even read the menu text.
It's perfect!
