Resonurgy 0.2.2: storms on every flank, exact rates

Oct 27

Storms

Storms split into fronts: one hits the wall facing the portal, the others go round your base and attack its flanks.
Creatures no longer crowd round the base to a single gap. Blocked by a wall, they take a nearby gap or break through.
At the wall they spread across buildings instead of piling onto one.

Upgrades and rates

Tier 2 makes a machine 1.5× faster, tier 3 makes it 2× faster (was +15% and +35%). Power draw stays the same.
Belts: 8 / 12 / 16 items per second per lane.
Drills: 30 / 45 / 60 per minute.
The principle loom now speeds up with its tier too.
Every machine recipe runs at a round rate per minute at every tier. About 90 recipes got faster, none slower.
Rate calculator in the codex: pick a product, a rate and a tier to see the whole chain — how many machines of each kind, how many belt lanes and how much raw input.
The machine card shows the machine's real rate, with power and dissonance counted.

New

Principle jars: fill priority and standing requests. A High-priority jar is a reserve that machines draw from last.
The scattergun and the grenade launcher are unlocked through research. New ammo: scatter shells.
Turret shots look like their ammo type, and turrets have their own firing sound.
8×5 backpack and four quick-access pages (Ctrl+1–4).
New research tree: tidy wiring, filters, hover cards and smooth zoom.
The directive journal is now a quest book: chapters, a directive map, search and filters.

Quality of life

Turret branches are chosen one after another for every waiting turret (the ` key or the HUD button), without opening each turret's card.
Camera tilt up to 10° (Page Up / Page Down, \ to reset). The camera keeps working while a machine card is open.
One key can be bound to actions that are never used at the same time. A real clash offers Swap, Bind anyway or Cancel.
Alt+click a principle or a fluid to open its codex record. The codex shows whether an item can be crafted by hand.
The machine card no longer jumps under the pointer.
No unloaded ground at the edges on ultrawide screens.

Saves and co-op

Worlds from 0.2.1 open in 0.2.2, and machines and hand crafting carry on where they stopped.
Worlds saved in 0.2.2 can't be opened by older versions.
Co-op requires everyone to be on 0.2.2.

Demo crashes

Demo crashed five times. Three times before I even got in the game. The last two, just trying to play. :( CPU spikes to 100% - GPU drops to 5% then can't restart. Have to uninstall/ :(

Some comments / feedback on some pain points

The game generally looks promising and interesting, at least at the early stages I at. But there are a few things that I'm finding a bit frustrating initially: UI elements moving around There's a few places where there are message banners at the top of the dialog box, and something you want to click on under the banner, and when the banner goes away, the thing you want to click on underneath moves, and you end up clicking in the wrong place. The main one is machines, where there are some unsatisfied ...

Resonurgy 0.2.1 — Storms your way, a clearer factory

Oct 22

A big quality update after 0.2.0. To play together, everyone needs version 0.2.1.

New: Flow Junction

A new belt building. Set each of its four sides to input, output or off and give every input a priority: outputs take from the highest-priority input first, lower ones only fill the gaps, equal ones take turns, and several outputs share the flow evenly. Unlocked by the Factory organization research.

Highlights

Storms on your terms — turn storms on in a peaceful world, set their strength and interval, or try an early trial storm first. Calms are longer and the first delay is free.
Turrets in bulk — pick ammo per turret, copy setups with the settings brush, fill a whole line with modules at once. Ranks come sooner, and a post-storm report shows what let your base down.
See what is stuck — a badge over a stopped machine tells you why: no power, no input, full output or missing fluid.
Golems that keep working — stuck golems drop the task and bring cargo back, paths behind walls and rivers work, upgraded guards really hit harder.
Friendlier interface — build palette with search (B), codex lookup for whatever is under the cursor (I), an event log, clearer warnings, key rebinding with swapping, text size setting, Machines volume slider, Ctrl+Z to undo placed plans and dismantling.

Also

Saves are many times smaller; you are told if a save fails. Worlds saved in 0.2.1 can't be opened by older versions.
A smoother first hour.
The scattergun has its own shot and reload sounds; the carbine sound no longer cuts out.
The storm deck leans towards what your factory makes.
Principles are no longer lost when a building is ruined or dismantled.
Co-op: slower computers catch up with the host again.
Texts fixed in every language.

Thanks for playing and for your reports!

Resonurgy 0.2.0 — Storms: a new combat system

Oct 21

Combat has been rebuilt from scratch. Storms of hordes, elites and bosses now march on your Nexus, and both your hero and your base grow stronger with every fight. Storms come to worlds with the Storms rules; Peaceful industry worlds stay calm.

Storms

The barometer counts down to the next storm. Delay it, or call it early for a bigger reward.
Portals open near your loudest sector and the horde heads for the Nexus. If the Nexus falls, the storm is lost.
Each win raises the storm level, up to 12. Every fifth storm brings a boss.
A won storm leaves a chest: pick one reward out of three.

Your hero

Enemies drop experience crystals. Every hero level gives you a card for the rest of the storm, and cards evolve with catalysts.
Storm echo buys permanent talents in the Nexus terminal (N).
Craft your own weapons: bolt carbine, alchemical emitter, scattergun and grenade launcher. The tutorial walks you through your first carbine before the first storm.

Your base

Turrets earn ranks, choose a specialization and take modules. A veteran chip keeps a rank when you rebuild.
Incendiary, shock and armor-piercing bolts. Turrets pick the one the target is weak to.
Resonance gates, dissonance lures and guard golems to shape the fight.
Your factory builds the arsenal. What it makes in the calm decides which cards the storm deals.

Enemies

Every enemy has a new look and a clear role. Swarms hunt the hero, sappers go for generators, mortars shell from afar and the colossus breaks walls.
The icon next to a health bar shows the enemy's weakness. The codex shows each enemy's model, attacks and counters.

Also in this update

Storms work in co-op: a shared base, your own cards and rewards, and you can revive a downed ally.
Machines stock principles for several crafts at once and return leftovers when you switch recipes.
Golems get stuck far less often.
Noticeably higher FPS and smoother play on large factories.
The game starts more reliably and recovers on its own if the graphics card fails at launch.
Smoother interface, better layout on small screens, and renamed buildings now show their names.
New sounds for enemies, weapons, machines and footsteps, plus a new resonance turbine model.

Note: older Dangerous frontier worlds now use the Storms rules. To play co-op, everyone needs version 0.2.0.

Thank you for playing and for all your feedback!
