The best thing I can say about this game is that it understands one important principle that many organizing games get wrong: it allows players to organize.

As long as a figurine belongs on a shelf's assigned theme, you have freedom in how you arrange it. You're not forced to memorize a single predetermined slot for every item, which makes the sorting process feel much more natural. The game also offers a respectable amount of genuine variety, featuring 263 unique cat designs across the collection.

Unfortunately, the experience quickly becomes weighed down by a series of questionable design decisions.

The first major problem is repetition. While there are 263 unique cats, you're actually sorting 5,215 figurines. Most standard cats require 20 copies each, split across 2 separate shelf stacks instead of 1 consolidated display. Rather than creating a satisfying collection, it often feels like you're stocking the same figurines over and over. The Rainbow Tower pushes this even further, requiring anywhere from 1 copy on the top tier up to 50 copies on the bottom tier for single cat models to complete the structure.

The progression system makes that repetition even harder to enjoy. Upgrades aren't unlocked when you've earned enough money. Instead, they're locked behind arbitrary item sorted milestones. You can have more than enough currency available and still be unable to purchase upgrades because you haven't hit the required sorting threshold yet. It removes player agency and makes earning money feel less meaningful.

Movement and mechanics only add to the friction. Traversing the store feels sluggish, and the sprint upgrade provides such a minuscule boost that it barely registers across thousands of sorting trips. Conversely, ability balance swings to the opposite extreme: active skill cooldowns are so short that you can spam them constantly, trivializing sorting loops and removing any tactical pacing.

The categorization system is another source of frustration. Some placements simply don't follow their own internal logic. For example, Cow Cat belongs under Animal Costumes while Goat Cat and Sheep Cat belong under Farm. Situations like this turn organization into trial and error guesswork rather than intuitive sorting. Instead of asking "Where does this belong?" you're left asking "What category did the developer arbitrarily assign this to?"

The game also gates some of its more interesting content far too late. The Meow Pot slot machine could have provided a fun distraction from sorting, but it's locked behind thousands of placed figurines. By the time it becomes available, most players will have already spent the majority of their time performing the exact same task repeatedly.

Technical and UI issues pile on top of these design problems. Save & Quit doesn't actually quit the game. Controller support in menus is broken, with several screens requiring mouse input. Menu navigation frequently loses focus, and settings screens fail to clearly indicate which option is currently selected. The upgrade menu is effectively unusable with a controller.

Atmosphere and visual polish do not fare much better. The background music is exceptionally slow and somber, inducing drowsiness during long sessions. In the shop, decorative potted plants sit directly on the floor in front of shelves, blocking lower slot visibility. Furthermore, while AI generation was disclosed for assets, the lack of manual developer touch ups is obvious across several unrefined models in the catalog.

What makes this disappointing is that there is a genuinely solid foundation here. The shelf placement freedom is good. The collection has potential. The organizing itself can be satisfying in short bursts. But the game buries those strengths beneath slow progression, excessive duplication, arbitrary categorization, weak controller support, and a surprising number of quality of life issues. By the end, the challenge is not organizing cats. It is fighting the game's interface and design choices. For that reason, I cannot recommend it.
