ABOUT S&G Munitions Inc.

Where Creativity Meets Practicality

S&G Munitions was a powerhouse in weapons manufacturing all throughout the mid-2010s. Its primary product line, Spastik's Toybox, was predominantly known as one of the progenitors of the unconventional weapon style of SCK manufacturing. The company flourished during this period, having won numerous corporate conflicts between rival companies, staving off countless espionage and assassination attempts, and making record profits and sales in the firearms industry.

However, following the unexplained disappearance of its CEO, the company fell into disrepair and was eventually shuddered. Its offices were left abandoned, guarded by automated assault units that would destroy any signs of incursion. This would not deter the company's former rivals from attempting to plunder these locations for any lost technology and designs.

Recently, following an incident at a Horizon Armaments Research site, there have been sightings of an individual resembling the long-missing S&G Munitions CEO that has been assaulting and destroying the compounds and research centers of various weapon manufacturers, though the individual's identity remains unconfirmed.

The Rebalance
So the rebalance. Originally when I made that poll, it was pretty split between the rebalance getting newer models vs. keeping the originals, almost completely down the middle. It took a lot of thinking and decision-making on my part in the backend since I basically have to be the tiebreaker on this, but I've made a decision on what will happen with the models; the existing, legacy version of Spastik's Toybox will not have changes to models aside from some of the unarmed weapons and a few weapons that had visual updates ready to go that were never released. This means maybe...three or four weapons will be getting changed while everything else will stay the same, even the weapons with the torgue aesthetic. There will be balance changes as well, some of the weaker weapons will get buffs while the broken ones like the Gambler and Rocket Rifle will receive changes that make them more in line with the other weapons. Overall though, there will not be many changes to the existing toybox otherwise.

Because there are so many people that still enjoy the original toybox as it was so long ago, I will also be uploading a version of the toybox as it currently exists on the workshop. It will not feature any of the changes made after November 28th, 2014 and will stand as an archival version of how the toybox has stood since then prior to my return. As for when this releases, because the scope of this part of the project has shrunk so drastically...I still don't know. Still aiming for this year but the remaster will take most of the time for progress going forward.

The Rebalance Beta Addon
So this was initially what the rebalance was going to look like. However, following collaboration with TankNut, the creator of the Simple Weapons base amongst other notable works, I have decided to deprecate this version. It doesn't accurately reflect anymore what the rebalance will look like nor does it reflect the quality of the remaster. It'll stay up for the sake of archival purposes but will not receive any further updates. These were pretty much just prototypes anyways, one made by the goons that kept me in an induced state of amnesia for twelve years.

Speaking of the remaster...

The Remaster

This is now the bulk of what we're focusing on since there have been some major changes. I still can't share much of what has changed here, you'll have to look around if you want to see behind-the-scenes stuff on it, but progress is going swimmingly and this could potentially be done long before the end of the year should this momentum keep up. I'm actually really excited for everyone to see what this sequel will play like, it's very polished, very multiplayer friendly, and features collaboration with talented modelers and animators along with the assistance from TankNut and...another individual who I am contractually obligated to credit but will not name, one that really likes canned water.

Yes though, animators are involved. This will feature new animations rather than the vanilla hl2/css ones. Don't worry, they're not going to be anything as jerky as the MW weapons are. I've gone out of my way to ensure that all animation changes are as close as possible to the originals while still having a higher level of quality. We'll also be doing what we can to preserve some levels of similarity between the original toybox's models and the sequel's, meaning that most of the weapons will at least attempt to match what their original counterpart looked like.

I can't say much more about this for now without spoiling but the short of it is that it's going great. Release date is still TBA but it's a lot, lot closer than anyone would expect.

That's all for now everyone, thank you to everyone who's still on this and to everyone just joining the project for the first time. Next status update will be some time around Fall.
