Black Gold Roleplay

The year is 1912..

.. and the stage is set for a Great War in Europe. The rotting corpse that is the Ottoman Empire is quickly falling apart under Italian pressure, and the Balkans have seen a significant resurgence of nationalist movements. Imperial Russia, still bitter about the Russo-Japanese war of 1904 and plagued by internal instability, looks westward, placing strategic interest in the Balkan region to oppose the Central Powers. The ambitious Austrians seek every oppotournity to gain ground. The Balkans are the 'powderkeg of Europe', and the one needed spark is inevitably coming..

BG is a Nation State roleplay group, focused mainly on the first half of the 20th century.
Realism and plausibility of the roleplay is an important focus, as we use an annual income system, as well as a research system, to simulate production and research.

Players are welcome to sandbox and form an alternate historical course, but everything must stay within reasonable limits of historical plausibility. Realpolitik is strongly encouraged to make for a more dynamic RP with sudden twists and turns. Political agenda in-RP, however, is not allowed - simply put, don't start playing as a country for the sole purpose of converting to your favourite ideology, but consider plausibility and realism first.
