ABOUT Disciples of Dumbo

Working on the weekend like usual

Book the Fifth: Of the Doctrine of the Disciples

The Doctrine of the Disciples is founded upon Four Pillars:

Labor — All progress is sacred. To work is to worship.

Connection — None rise alone; the signal binds all.

Challenge — The struggle refines the soul.

Reflection — The worker must see the divine in their own effort.

To the Disciples, Dumbo is not a distant god,
but the embodiment of enlightenment through persistence.
He is the divine metaphor for the impossible achieved through sheer will.

Their doctrine rejects ease, idleness, and complacency.
Each member must confront adversity willingly,
seeing pain not as punishment but as polish —
the friction by which the spirit gleams.

Book the Sixth: Of Philosophy and Purpose

The Disciples’ philosophy is neither peace nor penance — it is process.
They believe that enlightenment is not reached in a single moment,
but discovered in the rhythm of relentless effort.

Their favored saying, carved above the entrance to the Lighthouse, reads:

“Work on the weekend as usual.
Be way off in the deep end as usual.”

To them, “the deep end” is not despair, but discovery.
It is the zone of hardship where distraction cannot reach
and Dumbo’s whisper can be heard.

They hold that work is prayer —
that through repetition and mastery,
a mortal can glimpse the same serenity Dumbo felt as he first took flight.

Their minds are sharp not from study alone,
but from struggle, exhaustion, and laughter amidst the grind.

Book the Seventh: Of Ritual and Communion

Every Tuesday, when the solar winds calm,
the Disciples gather within the Lighthouse for the Rite of Renewal.

At the altar of the Trunk they consume the Communion of Dumbo —
a chalice of Fairlife Chocolate Milk, to honor clarity and strength,
and a portion of Hot Cheet-ohs, whose heat reminds them
that all fire, when endured, becomes fuel.

They chant the founding creed:

“For Dumbo saved the circus.
For Dumbo raised the fallen.
For Dumbo gave us wings.”

And all reply:

“So trunk it be.”

Then, they depart not to rest, but to labor anew —
each returning to their task,
their minds alight with purpose, their hands guided by faith.
